  1. I know we're all mucking around but I feel like that has some serious legs, and would harken back to the days of the Ozzy/Alice/Eddie/Zombie rock mates could have superstar era sets for many: a Bowie set, an Elvis set, Prince, Madonna, hell Alice Cooper could return in 2" with an additional 3 looks, not even to contemplate swappable parts and their possibilites onto contemplating Rebel Moon though, very excited to see such a 'fresh' minimate release...so close, you can feel the tie-in! personally excited for robo-Hopkins even if just to hang with N.A.R Odin and Hopkins Hannibal & Cannibal
  2. Loving the updates and great to see your workflow! I like #7 and #9 :')
  3. Apologies on the delay in providing a dispatch from the front, I was too busy having my sides re-assembled (a fairly common ailment when dealing with clyonchaney and bhm, it must be said) thank you all so much for your assistance and giving this thread a chance I got Lambert's helmet off, with a tiny bit of scrape damage around the chin (confirmation at least of the snugness of the fit in one particular point of the 'lip' of the helmet) but it's no bother :') though in light of blogzilly's comment I feel it may well have been more a tiny shatter on the overhanging helmet bit OR resolving a dried paint calamity by force, as I certainly put my back into pulling it clear. Took a few good yanks and I'm not just talking about all you helpful souls on here! On a related note, but pushing clear as opposed to pulling clear, any good tips for working with ball joints in transparent plastic? Specifically I've been trying to pop the clear skeletal arms on to the (positively exquisite) Master Pal from Buffy Palz and they pop on so good they can sometimes tear the connecting peg from shoulder ball to torso when i attempt to pose them (though this could well be a factor of my enthusiasm 😛 as it stands, i just pop them off and then gently back on in the pose i want, but I'd love to be...crystal clear, on what one techniques one should and shouldn't deploy when working with transparent plastic? Another, quicker question I'm a little far from home at the moment to test, but how does plastic cement shape up in regard to the plastics used in block figures?
  4. The only thing my mind is made up about is that Palz remain my favourite block figures ever! and that logging in here and seeing words from the man himself is not only making BHM's week but Signature Choice(now rebranded to Minimateship)'s year, hell my lifetime I also can't help but feel a bit embarrassed, like I was critiquing the DJ just as the music stopped; though in this instance picture Daft Punk on the decks which is to say royalty in their field...rest assured I typed it all with love Mr Lilly! I guess I was trying to spark discourse & was snarking like I'd invented it...in the vein of Wayne and Garth, we're not worthy 🤘 Thank you so much for the insight and of course for the Palz and so so much for dropping us all a line here! I don't think I'll be going so long between log-ins any longer and my block figure fires are almost as stoked as myself I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say once I'm done hyperventilating but oh my giddy aunt welcome indeed! Love your work
  5. I feel like there's a Mulder Ken watching the skies, and perrhaps a Scully barbie to go with? Who is one indeed, could this be a lucky thirteen i wonder One to go by my count haha how'd i do? I saw Oppenheimer, dodged Barbie. Nolan's always pretty groovy and for my uneducated self it was pretty edutaining indeed : )
  6. Thanks for the follow-up cylonchaney, glad to hear someone helped out! Your customising efforts are always so interesting and I look forward to a clean Bishop draft you're ready to let face the world 😛
  7. Here is a question i have for the group: what are some of the ways y'all deal with getting a minimate head out of a full face covering headpiece? currently stuck trying to get Space Suit Lamberts helmet off
  8. I know I could probably trawl a few review sites for this, I know there's something about using hot water (or cold water?) on the socket and other home remedies but thought it might be a good idea to put it to the group and compile the knowledge : What are your tips & tricks and things to keep in mind when putting limbs onto, or taking limbs off of, older block figures? specifically working with ball and socket joints I'll start and say that while it may be tempting when removing a limb to use the torso for leverage, try to avoid this as you can snap the joint to the ball! this seems to be a bigger issue on figures using clear plastic in my experience
  9. i thought that's what you were up to! I had to double-check that we never got a clean bishop and got sidetracked but so so glad to see your efforts! 'soiled Bishop' indeed, poor bloke took a bashing i don't think i'll be much help with bishopsheadmate, yet (maybe i'll try a hand), just an excited party checking in!
  10. you produce some absolutely incredible things and these are looking so polished! such clean (and cool!) decals 3D printing has never looked so appealing
  11. Thank you! I wonder if this will be achieved with hinges or a separate chest piece, i forecast the latter
  12. who is the black transformer with the opening chest? looks like a very cool feature!
  13. the tendrils of your influence know no bounds! sowing those Oats indeed 😛 I went ahead and had a look at those early minimates reviews, well worth the search for a nostalgic hit of such throwbacks as the early Marvel waves, Crouching Tiger, the Rockstars, Sauron and LOTR, Trek 3 inchers...bit of a chance to look back on the early development/reception of our favourite figures, and I'd certainly be keen for some reviews of contemporary 'mates (even if just to have all those classic reviews linked from one place :P) to see what he reckons...a great deal has changed since then after all! Review site reviewing aside, should anyone be interested/unaware, the Joe 'mates picked up silver in both the People's Picks and the Poppies proper! a round of applause all around
  14. That is sooooo cool Zach! Always grand to see behind the scenes at the minimate mill! I would put my hat in as interested but I don't wanna take away from the bigger Trek fans (and I'm a bit of a shipping nightmare lately) but gosh I'm excited for the lucky duck that nabs it! glad to see spidermatt jumping in to make three, and of course I'm LOVING all this boxset brainstorming ITT
  15. a Poppies judge! quite the flex there Mr Oat was psyched to see some mate's represented on the ballot there this year i adore the Palz reviews on his site, an early block figure exposure (obviously they're a lil old now!)
  16. what surfboards though! i bet that destro cuts a very shiny figure, cool find
  17. this is such a cool post! The products of these library deals are such an exciting part of minimate history, i had no idea about two of those lost sets either, thanks for insight
  18. very Well Done BHM, you're a bloody Rare talent and udderly hilarious
  19. i just wanna say i'll forever love the krang minimate, and hope it'll get a revamp at some stage :') looking forward to the upcoming turtles entry!
  20. sorry to quote but just wanted to say i howled out loud at this one, as is often the case with your posts BHM XD so good EDIT: to add to the discussion: i've no idea who to cut from the team and i too think 2-pack with a B-A-F was a solid way of doing things BUT have we ever considered two 3 packs, with a B-A-F or similar linking element between idk i'm just spitballing
  21. second that! shoot your shot homie :') maybe someone'll bite
