I have a few Disney (Toy Story & Rocketeer) and some Star Wars. These figures are nicely detailed (in most cases), but are purely for display. They would never hold up as an actual action figure.

They also seem to be hit or miss. Some are nicely made, others are pure shite.

I've got a few Kubricks. Some marvel, a Sandtrooper and the Neon Genesis Evangelion 3 pack. They're nowhere near as cool as minimates even if they were the inspiration. Having said that, I'm still really pissed off that I got sniped for that Apocalypse. He'd have looked damn fine among the X-Men minimates.

Spawn... Meh! Had it's time if you ask me.

I wouldn't mind picking up one of the Violator figures. To me that works pretty good in Kubricks form. The rest I'll pass on, I'm not a Kubricks fan, I only have two: Apocalypse & Juggernaut.

Having said that, I must admit to owning a few Kubricks. But really it's only because of the licensing -- if Minimates came in all the varieties that Kubricks did, I would own naught but 'mates!

I think they look pretty good, especially Violator and Tremor (I think that's his name) but I'm not much of a Kubrick fan. As has been said Spawn minimates would be cool. And each figure has a variant? Seems a little extreme IMO.

I have one, Monev the Gale........i'm not too impressed with it, but I friend gave it to me, so i keep it around.

I'd never buy a Kubrick, they are really too much duded up Lego. At least with Minimates I contend that they're mini-action figures in a real sense. Not to mention favoring blindpacking...

But for many Kubricks are THE block figures, thus first port of call for things like this

i picked one of these up way back when... and just thought id look to fill out a few more.. or possible hack one into a minimate... but 40$$$$ thats crazy

sounds about right those were really rare and I don't think they came out in the states. I really wanted one back when I collected Kubricks you know BM (before minimates).

I looked at getting one of these but as you say kubricks go for silly money.

Like the Trigun and Tetsujin sets. I've looked at picking both up in the past - haven't pulled the trigger on the auctions yet though. I do have the Mazinger (set A) set that I'm quite pleased with. I've also go the Batman set and the 400% Batman.

Kubricks are nice, but don't have the appeal for me that 'mates do. I think its a design thing. I prefer the design of the mate over that of the kubrick. Articulation is another selling point for me in the mates vs kubrick discussion.
