  1. Kraven, followed by Attuma. Would be happy with many of these obscure characters mentioned so far.
  2. So there WILL be a 2099? Awesome! Any art we can see? Anything else we missed that's not in the thread?
  3. I'm thrilled we're getting disco Dazzler, personally. Definitive look for the character from my favorite era of X-Men. Very glad we are getting a new Civil War Spidey, too. REALLY surprised though that there is no 2099. I also don't understand the necessity for another Electro. The Sandman sentiment I understand as well but am personally pleased because I always liked the armored look and always a wanted a mate of it.
  4. Well if it is Web Warriors then we will definitely get a new Spider-man 2099, so I'd definitely be excited about that.
  5. If it's Spidey Web-Warriors I'd be perfectly cool with that.. heard the show was cancelled though which would minimize the chances I'd think..
  6. I think the average age is indicative of just how many of us collectors started in the mid to late 80s, no wonder we want so many classic characters!
  7. Just checked, the two short packed are gone again..
  8. Enjoy your blog, check it out all the time. Keep up the good work!
  9. I can't imagine a Wrecking Crew set selling at a decent level, I just can't. I would buy it as would many here but I can see it not going well. Realize that we are extreme die-hards who request obscure, never been done before characters.. not sure there are enough of us to support a set. Feel like an Alpha-Flight like bomb would hurt the brand. Don't get mad at me AF fans, I love the set (especially Sasquatch), but it's no secret it did not move well. Now, as others have said, a wave that has the Wrecking Crew members fighting Avengers, especially wishlist characters we need, would be stellar and more realistic. It is disappointing the Foes did not move that great but realize too how people collect Minimates. They buy one set as I did and end up buying every character they want, so hopefully sales will continue for a long time.
  10. Really cool looking wave, definitely looking forward to it. Been waiting for a new Hobgoblin since I started collecting, with he and Apocalypse the rest is just icing on the cake. Both look great. Not up to date with my reading so I know nothing about Falcap but he looks amazingly awesome.. feel like he will blow people away once taken out of the box. Carnage is a little unnecessary but really sharp. Glad Red Skull has an alternate look, already have Onslaught. Kinda numb on Iron Mans there have been so many at this point, but the white is unique. Don't know what a Kluh is but I'll take most everything Hulk-related. Sabretooth is the only one that doesn't grab me at all but that's okay, glad to see comic mates.
  11. Yeah, Wolverine/ Sentinel are missing, and Vision/ Quicksilver are already sold out apparently.
  12. So we are really asking DST for even MORE Iron Mans? Yeah, I don't think they've made quite enough yet. Still, it is very cool looking I will agree with that!
  13. My top 10.. Classic characters and ones I think have great designs that would look really cool.. sunfire black knight typhoid mary (80s) gladiator (dd) stingray attuma beetle (classic) deathlok starhawk mockingbird Would also love to see: puma prowler nightmare boomerang (classic) magus high evolutionary stryfe jack of hearts jack-o-lantern eternity ulik erik the red speed demon mesmero
  14. Found the Wolverine/ Sentinel pack in Queens, NY but that was it. Should've went a few days ago!
  15. Glad they're showing up, gonna have to go hunting soon. Anyone from NY see these yet? Trying to avoid a repeat of the last wave which I never found, that was very disappointing. Being as I already have the older versions of Vision, Quicksilver, and Mysterio I am most excited about Ronan and Spidey. Remember reading that arc thinking that'd be a cool looking minimate, and it is!
  16. I love the original Mirage series and am very excited for these, think they look cool! Would love to also see classic Shredder, Fugitoid, Ultroms/ Kraang and most of all Triceraton among others if they go further into Mirage.
  17. When you set your hopes as high as DCAU, we are bound to be disappointed. Love Batman, like the show, but my concern is similar to everyone else's in that I am NOT a fan of civilian minimates! However, it is exciting to be getting any DC-related minimates.. don't think any of us saw it coming. Zach, if you can answer, how does this relate with more DC minimates down the line?
  18. I disagree strongly with this thread.. Transforming Thing is the definitive Thing and one of my favorite mates ever. To each their own, I guess.
  19. Wow.. these look great! Have the two Cannonballs and Shatterstar but never picked up Cable or Domino, glad to have them. Domino especially looks terrific. The colors on this set really pop. I agree more sets like this please!
  20. Yes the MLF, that is it! Lol. Almost forgot bout these guys. Loved those issues when they came out but haven't read em since I don't think. Cool looks either way!
  21. This is the story of how I started collecting Minimates. I was in TRU one night with friends and saw the Betsy Braddock/Nightcrawler set and thought "hey, these are cool" and bought it. I thought nothing of the line after that. A few months later, I somehow stumbled across the announcement for the Alpha Flight box set and thought they looked fricking fantastic. Being new to 'Mates and how the SDCC exclusive sets worked, I panicked thinking they'd be sold out after SDCC and that I'd miss out on these awesome toys. When I finally got my set, I was instantly hooked. Hundreds of dollars later, I'm an avid buyer of the Marvel 'Mates. So, while that set may not have sold well, DST gained a loyal customer because of them. TL/DR: That poorly selling Alpha Flight set is what started my Minimate addiction and collecting. That's very cool, and hardcore Marvel guys like most of us here love getting teams like Alpha Flight. I've gotten characters as Minimates that I never would have imagined.. the character selection blew me away once I started getting serious bout these great little figures. HOWEVER, when a set that comes out is clearanced everywhere years later for as little as six dollars that has to have an effect on the sales strategy, an effect detrimental to collectors like us unfortunately.
  22. Overall I do like the set as detailed in the SDCC thread. I'm not devastatingly disappointed and the character selection is about what I expected. I hate negativity and am as positive as they come.. but the jacket DOES bother me! The most iconic thing about the Wolvie DOFP look is the jacket. We're just being honest here and giving feedback, no? I think a larger issue is us hardcore minimate collectors being deprived of new comic-based characters for awhile now. We knew this was coming because of all the movies this year so when we see a comic-based set we are hoping for the best in that regard. It's okay though, release another wave like 54 and all will be forgiven!
  23. I don't think the bottom art is Liefeld at all. I don't remember some of Stryfe's guy's names (Freedom Force?) but some of them are pretty cool looking. Have the old Toy Biz figure of the six-arm guy. The reaper looking guy with the sickle, the guy with the zero on his face and the chick with the wings would all make great minimates imo. Can't believe we haven't had Stryfe yet. With the Brotherhood you'd think they'd make em just to shut us up by now.. Think they come up in about 80 percent of all threads at this point!
  24. Glad to finally see the set. Some mixed feelings initially but feel a LOT better about it knowing that Kitty has the alternate look - not a fan of civilian mates. Wolvie looks ok but the coat is an issue.. The Sentinel is cool but hard to top the one from a few yrs ago, those were perfect imo. Always down for more Sentinels though. Glad to get Mystique as I do not have the original, she looks great. The alternate head is cool. As far as the character selection I think this has a lot to do with that Alpha Flight set from a few years ago, which sold disastrously from what I can tell. Also some of the more obscure mates that have not sold as well. My belief is that it probably hurts the brand when sets linger like that. However we are the most hardcore collectors out there and love to get obscure characters, just look at any of our wishlists! Hopefully DST will throw us some bones in upcoming sets/ waves.. as discussed here many times I think A-listers mixed with our wishlist guys is the way to go. But hey, on the bright side, its not 4 Deadpools and 10 Iron Men! Hopefully we'll get some cool reveals at SDCC.
