Psyguy
I'm not familiar with some of the characters either, but they look fantastic! Also love they grey BW. I will be using the decals too, thanks for sharing!

youbastards
I can't believe I've only been able to complete 2 customs since the beginning of the year... Posting here for posterity's sake, my entry for the Alternate Universe custom contest, it won 3rd place! World War 2 Captain Britain A custom that I have had planned for over 6 months, and finally finished: The Blob! hellpop
Blob looks gross, and I mean that as a compliment. Like he's covered in cellulite. That's the Punisher's head, right? Excellent choice. I don't think you could make a better decal for him if you tried.
youbastards
Thanks Hellpop! Here are some more pix, I had fun with these!
Nessex
That's the Punisher's head, right? Excellent choice. I don't think you could make a better decal for him if you tried. I was just thinking that face looks so right for Blob. All of castles wrinkles translate nicely (or grossly?) into Freds fat folds!
Bob Harris
Great pics and nice job on Mr. fatty here! Well done! What did you use for him? Are the arms, legs and even torso (guess it's based on movie Blob, right?) all sculpted?
youbastards
Thanks Bob! Yes, the recipe is a plain Minimate with the movie Blob chestpiece with the sides filled with Apoxie Sculpt. I also added more of a belly to the chestpiece and also some additional 'backside'. The upper-arms, wrists, thighs, and ankles are all Apoxie sculpt too. Psyguy
He looks great! The scupting really does the character justice. I agree, the head choice is perfect too.
Joe Hill
Great Blob custom! The face works perfect and the body is nicely done.
luke314pi
Very cool! It makes me want to go back and remake my old custom to be more like yours.

boyd
Great looking Blob! Well, as great looking as any hideously obese man could be, I guess. Guess I should say, "Great looking custom for a man of his weight!"
youbastards
"Powered Up" Cosmic Cube! Thunderstrike I hope to have a few more customs finished up soon.
mrjasontodd
awesome. man do i miss the 90's comics when i was 9, the internet didnt spoil stories and each issue only cost $1.25 an issue. Whose hair is that anyway?
youbastards
Thanks! It's a modified AOA Sabertooth hairpiece (sideburns removed)
youbastards
Another of Marvel's "Misfits from the 90's"... DARKHAWK! Helmet and chest diamond are sculpted from Fixit Sculpt. Grappling claws are pieces of very thin modeling plastic. I have one more custom that is almost ready, I just need to finish sculpting his bill. MinnesotaIceman
Darkhawk looks great! Is your next custom Howard the Duck or Beta Ray Bill?
luke314pi
Nice work on Darkhawk! I used to have his entire run of 50 issues.
youbastards
Thanks guys! Yeah, can you imagine a character like that being launched today? He would have lasted 10 issues tops. Howard is definitely my next custom, one that I have been working on periodically since I finished Man-Thing last year. I have the lower part of his bill sculpted, just need to sculpt the upper half and paint his bill and his legs/feet and he will be all set. Aapje
Dammit i just had the same idea...>.< But, great job dude really nice
youbastards
Thanks Aapje, glad to see others appreciated the misfits too! I've been thinking of revisiting the helmet a little, to give it a more rounded look. I definitely want to do a modern Darkhawk at some point too. One thing that I find (other customizers, tell me if this happens to you too) is that I am really happy with a custom I finish, but once I take the pix and post them, I start seeing areas I can improve upon and it makes me want to start tweaking it. I guess I need to start taking pictures of my customs and looking them over closely before I decide it is "finished".

I take pictures first, review them, make changes to my customs, and then take new pictures. It's more work that way, but it definitely makes a difference. For the helmet i was thinking a slip over mask with sculpted parts and underneath a red head and cut out visor on the slip over mask...thats what i wanted to do anyway
