Preorders for Sakuya Izayoi are up at Otacute! I'd highly recommend preordering now if you want one, otherwise you'll have to pay a ridiculous amount when she's released.

Which one is she?

She's the maid of the Scarlet Devil mansion:

Did I ever mention how much I hate you guys? :P

No, I'm not familiar with the character or the source material at all, however she was just too bad-ass for me to pass up! It's sort of a mixed bag how much this line is starting to cut into my Minimate budget.

Pics to come... maybe. :whistling:

I literally just found out they made a Figma version of Lum from Urusei Yatsura, so now I must know:

How exactly does one obtain Figma figures?

Hobby Link Japan says she's "discontinued" (but the blog pics I've been seeing of her in pre-release state are from Dec 2009! How can she be discontinued in only 7 months?!) and eBay wants $50+ dollars ($15 shipping?!?! In this economy?! I'll swim to Hong Kong and back to pick it up before I spend HALF of the figures worth on S&H)

... I guess if there's no other options I could hit up Japan Town and then have a crepe when I'm disappoint all they sell is tiny little girl (or shower man) Figmas and Giant Robots, or wait until the local con season starts up again next year... but there MUST be a place on-line option that still has Lum right?

Damn, I wish I would have known that you liked her so I could announce when preorders were up. I don't like her very much so I didn't post her, but she is pretty popular so that's why she's kinda expensive (there are more expensive figmas so I'd say she's midrange). I've looked around some Japanese sites and you're better off paying $50 shipped. On eBay she's $47 shipped.

I use:

http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english

http://yokattaweb.jp/

http://www.otacute.com/

Amiami will let you preorder without paying, and they give discounts so I prefer them the most. But some figmas are exclusive and you have to pay more from through middleman services like Yokatta, and you pay for the item upfront but pay for shipping later. Otacute is a store like amiami where you pay when it arrives, but they're also like a middleman service in that they get exclusives, except you have to pay more for them.

On canceling preorders, don't do it with Otakuza. Boss Yuhei will kidnap your toys or take a finger. Amiami will let you cancel a couple times as long as you have good reasons, but if you cancel too many they WILL blacklist you.

Preorder for Mari Sue Makinami

Preorder for Marisa Kirisame

I'm honestly surprised that Marisa is still in stock.

Other people like to use these sites:

http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/ (some items are opened as in previously owned, so use Google translator to read the kanji for opened or sealed. Some items aren't even in English, so just do a general search of figma. Other times find the official Japanese name for what you want, like I have to use Japanese to find JoJo's Bizarre Adventure stuff)

You DON'T like Lum?! Then you sir are the WORSE kind of person!!!

although in all seriousness, thanks for checking around to see if there was a cheaper option for me, I guess I'll just have to see how my budget is next month and pay $50 for her (Lum's worth $50 I guess, even if $15 of it is S&H)... and even if you had announced her pre-order, it wouldn't have helped me, I have a passing interest in Figma/Revoltech that amounts to ignoring them for months then saying "Hey, I wonder if there's any new Revolteches I might like!" then looking at pictures on-line and it looks like my window of wonder completely missed Lum until yesterday when I saw her in some show room shots... SIGH!

Eh, I read/watched Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha so I figured that was enough Rumiko Takahashi I'll ever need in my life.

Preorders for Mikoto Misaka from Railgun are up!

http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&amp.../e_display.html

You could either buy the PSP game for the figma, or you can pay the same price for the figma without the PSP game, it's your call XP

Preorders for Aya Kagura from se Kagura are up!

http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&amp.../e_display.html

There's also a King Kazuma bunny guy figma.

When these first came out, I collected most of the regular versions of the cast of Haruhi Suzumiya and then Lucky Star.

Now I'm working on the K-On! cast. I have Ritsu so far, and Yui and Mugi are coming in the mil along with Figma Drossel.

I'm about sick of AmiAmi. I'm inclined to order it from HobbySearch. They have 15% off instead of the 20% that AmiAmi has, but their 50% off paypal shipping extends to pre-orders. I ordered Saber Alter and Winter Miyuki from AmiAmi, and Miyuki ended up being $30 shipped with Sal. They even game me the sale price with a whole 237 yen back. Woop-de-do. I don't particularly like Hobby Search. I'm a HLJ guy myself, but at this juncture they seem to be the cheapest all around.

Anyone interested in Nodoka from K-On...there is a site I was recently introduced to called Tokyo Hunter where the guy on the site will get you rare/exclusive Japanese stuff for a reasonable price.

Sadly Nodoka won't come til November as while she'll be offered this July at Wondercon, she will also be offered again online around November. The Wondercon ones I guess are not guaranteed unlike the later release dates.

I hope Figma makes Miss Sawa-chan to complete the cast (unless they also feel like making Jun)

You can also preorder her on yokatta, but you have to pay upfront. I'm not sure if I'll be able to preorder her since I have so much stuff I preordered coming out in July.

Disappearance Haruhi is up for preorder!

She comes with a bench and other things lol.

I'm getting her. Obviously. I just thought... I'd be more excited. Oh well, I guess I don't ever have to worry about a visit from Chris Hansen. Maybe I got spoiled by all those extra head pack ins we've gotten for the last 5 releases or so.

Eh, I read/watched Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha so I figured that was enough Rumiko Takahashi I'll ever need in my life.

I was waiting until I had received mine before responding, but this is like saying:

"eh, I saw a couple episodes of Clone Wars, I don't think I need I watch the 'original Trilogy', I've gotten my fill of Star Wars" (not that you have to watch it, especially given it never got a good DVD release, just saying you picked the perfect way to phrasing that to cut a hole right in my heart)

Lum's the first Figma I've bought, she's HUGE, she's in scale with 6 inch figures (I have the full line of 'real' Street Fighters from the Revolvotech SFO line, I was expecting something in line with that) so I guess Lum's gonna hang with the Goddamn Batman and Power Girl rather then Ryu and Ken, but that's cool.

Figma's seem nice, I like the sculpt and articulation style a lot more then the Revolvoteches and EVERY American made female action figure I own, if they ever make any more from a license I like (c'mon Sailor Venus...) I'll get more
