Fujis
Click here I think Marvel staying in line with the rest of the Minimates packaging is a good idea - and hopefully it'll boost sales. Wave 50 here we come!
Fo Shizzle
Pretty cool news. I wish they would have thrown out a mockup image or something....
luke314pi
I can dig it.
Zombieboyfiend
Maybe a cross breed between the way the packs looked early on and the middle way point (square boxes).
MINI_MYTE
A lot of people who don't buy Marvel minimates by the case will be happy to hear this news. Besides, a change in any toy line's packaging is a welcome treat. Keeps it fresh and interesting. gledzee
This is great news i bought some DC mates because i could actually see the product ,also windows get rid of the problem of the picture on the box not matching the product inside .....hope the new packaging wont affect the price tho
Amazing.JL
Bout time, was waiting for this. I love it because it's closer to the original Marvel packaging. Didn't really like the new ones but they were easier to stack and put in shipping boxes. It looks like the best of both worlds, great! Mystery Man
If they make it to series 50, they'll HAVE to make a Kang...
Amazing.JL
If they make it to series 50, they'll HAVE to make a Kang... No doubt, but it depends on how many more Spider-man there is to make. Been wanting a Kang for a while now.
karamazov80
No doubt, but it depends on how many more Spider-man there is to make. It's funny that I was thinking about how they would celebrate a 50th wave, and my conclusion was that it would have to be an all Spidey/Wolvie wave. Anything else would seem inappropriate somehow. Or Kang disguised as Spiderman. Would of been nice to had a mock up but I guess we will be seeing them soon enough.
Trekker 42
No doubt, but it depends on how many more Spider-man there is to make. If you are from DST, do not read this post. We don't want you getting ideas. Let's see: Spider-Phoenix, Insulated rubber suit (Electro fight), Amazing Bagmen (We NEED This one), Ricochet, Dusk, Hornet, Prodigy, the Negative Zone suit, Mask made of Webs, Spider-Man (In Daredevil Suit), and Alex Ross Spider-Man. Then we get into alternate Universes: House of M, MC2, 1602 (I want a 1602 boxset or two. That would rock out loud), Pestilace Spider-Man, Reign, Poison, India, and of course the Amazing Hulk from Bullet Points. That ought to last us a few waves. buttheadsmate
I had asked the question more than once before about the packaging on the Marvel line. Who listens to me? As for Kang the guy has no future.
Alpheon
(I want a 1602 boxset or two. That would rock out loud) If they made a 1602 box set, I'd be ready to stop collecting Minimates--and be totally ready to die. They, to me, would be the penultimate Minimates--if done correctly. Glad someone else shares this desire.

Glad someone else shares this desire. A-Freaking-men. They'd have to do a few to get it right though And It would have to be five figures: 1602 set One: Sir Strange Virginia Dare Murdoch Rojhaz Sir Fury Set Two: The Inquisitor Carlos Javier John Grey Scotius Summersile Werner 1602: New World The Spider Hulk Lord Freaking Iron (LOVE ths guy. Love Him) Norman Osborne King James Fanastick Four: The fantastick Four: Richard Reed Susan Storm (With baby. It will be creepy) John Storm Ben Grimm Otto Von Doom After that: Exclusive four pack of th Four who are Frightful and a two-pack of Wanda and Petros. Then we can all die. Anyway, you know this will never happen.
Vigilante
I would easily buy a "Slingers" box set with Ricochet, Hornet, Dusk, and Prodigy. It would rock! Vig

rx78jj
Well then lets get right on the track. So anyone remember how many changes the mates have gone though, packaging wise?
Ivan
Well that depends. If you're referring to the regular specialty market releases... Waves 1, 2 and 3 looked like this. Waves 4 through 11. Color change on Waves 12 and 13 Larger boxes with J-Hooks on Wave 15 Color change on Wave 16 Color change on Wave 17 and 18 Another color change on Wave 19 and 20 The TRU packs went through a couple iterations... 5-Packs 4-Packs New style to match change in 2-Packs 'Hard to store' version Then there are the weird exclusives... Single packs Larger boxes Bagged promos Bagged promos with header cards And the box sets... 6-Pack 10-Pack New 4-Packs with hard to store boxes and Darktide. After all that, I'm not really surprised they are changing the packaging. Edited September 2, 2008 by Ivan
