I also have a question: does anyone know of green legs with brown "boot tops?" I know there are the Platoon mates, and first appearance Blade, but those all have shoelaces/details in front. i want pure brown. Does such an animal exist? Depending on the shade of green you’re looking for Bring On the Bad Guys Red Skull is green with brown boots. Quote
elhonez Posted February 15, 2023 Author Posted February 15, 2023 (edited) Well I'll be ding-danged... it was right there all along! Thanks Freaqualizer! Edited February 15, 2023 by elhonez typo Quote
elhonez Posted February 28, 2023 Author Posted February 28, 2023 At some point I'll reveal the Q-ish C that I was working on, but it may be a bit. Another couple of sets have now jumped the line, and I'm excited by them. I have so little time to work on my customs these days that I tend to follow my whims, which just adds more and more time. 🤷♂️ Not that anyone could guess based on this, but before my next "wave" is done I need a Kingpin cigar hand, and I need to paint a couple fedoras. All part of the process! I used my existing collection to test this, so thankfully no exorbitant AIM fees this time. I happen to have a s**t ton of Moloids, and even though the color is less saturated, the yellow ended up pairing better. I'm not a fan of the wrinkled, anemic chest tampo, but the big plan will be to have the Colossus torso cap cover most of it anyway. So... getting there. I have a cheap-ish V1 Colossus on order coming soon. I am using a First Class (comic) Angel bracket for the wings, and I'm guessing I'll have to trim it and glue it to the back of the Colossus cap. Paint will entail blue for the belt, red for the trimmed edges of the Colossus cap, and yellow to cover the trimmed surfaces of the wing bracket. Updating here that this is almost done, and looks good enough for rock 'n roll (in case anyone else would like to try it). Unfortunately I inadvertently spilled super glue juice on the head I was using, which ruined the decal. I'll post a pic once I acquire a replacement part, and add a little finishing paint. Quote
elhonez Posted July 18, 2023 Author Posted July 18, 2023 Aside from Walgreens Adam Warlock, who else has these slick neck peg-based shoulder flares? I feel like I've seen them somewhere else. Shoulder flares are essential superhero gear, right up there with bootcuffs and capes. Quote
elhonez Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 Are there any other open/functional quivers with straps outside of Fear Itself Hawkeye? I'm really not wanting to drop 20 bucks for a single part, but that seems to be the only listing on Ebay. I already used mine for Apache Kid, but now I'm working on another character that needs one. Box Set - Satchel part I think that satchel is somewhere in Walking Dead as well. Glenn maybe? Or an early Rick. Either way, probably cheaper than getting it in that Deadpool set. EDIT. Officer Rick or the Days Gone Bye box set. Edited September 1, 2023 by Trekker 42 Quote
elhonez Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 Thanks for the tips! I have one on order now, looking forward to seeing how it works. Quote
cylonchaney Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 When that set came out, someone posted a QC Borgpool in the Star Trek thread. I meant to reply but never did. I used that bag to make Poolcard. It was Picard with a Deadpool head and that pack loaded up with scifi weapons like Casey Jones. I remember it holding a good amount of stuff. Quote
elhonez Posted September 15, 2023 Author Posted September 15, 2023 It worked out really well, I just painted it last night and it looks great. It's pretty cavernous. The only challenge is that the strap is a bit bulky/oversized, but it worked for my purposes. Thanks again cylonchaney for the suggestion! Quote
elhonez Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Moon Knight (1.0) is pretty pricey these days -- does he share his gloves with any other Minis? Alternately, are there other hands with knuckle spikes? I'm at a loss at the moment. Quote
elhonez Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Nevermind! Of course: Dreadnought, and it's readily available. Quote
elhonez Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 OK, real question this time: Which characters have "boots" that are separate from their (standard) feet? Examples: AOA Apocalypse, Zombie Magneto. Basically, shin bracelets, but much wider than e.g. 90s Cyclops. Quote

Or like Ultimate Thor (which IIRC is the same as above Juggernaut). Quote
elhonez Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 The tricky part is that the boot bit needs to be separate from the feet. Because I'm planning on using standard feed. So really more like a large ankle cuff. Jackalman I realize has big cuffs, but they have ridges. Are there any others? Quote
BuffaloDelorean Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Any of the DC minimates with pirate boots, like Jay Garrick or Captain Marvel, had two-piece boots. Quote

elhonez Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 Y'all have been so helpful in helping me find pieces, I'm hoping to go to the well again... Ideally, somewhere out there is a loincloth piece that has a studded belt attached. If not studded, then some semblance of cloth protruding from an otherwise smooth belt-like area. In a pinch, I'm going to make do with Lady Loki. But I'm hoping for something as described. I combed anything tagged "loin" from the MMDB, because I'm a sicko. But maybe there is something that escaped tagging? Quote
cylonchaney Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 (edited) Try searching mmdb for "furry" and choose the "tagged with furry" results. You'll get a bunch of hits on D&D figures that might hold some promise. edit: Sorry, you're looking for cloth. Try skirt. Possibly something like a female zombie or Dr. Doom. Loincloth is a tag that returns a number of results. Edited October 21, 2024 by cylonchaney Quote
elhonez Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 Found one! Menace. I will need to x-acto some of the excess cloth, but that will be easy enough. Quote
