I'm sure after the whole Soundwave incident Bay and the others will end up ruining him just as well, but I'll remain hopeful. TM2 Dinobot Posted June 17, 2010 Share Posted June 17, 2010 GI Joe, for me, was tolerable. I enjoyed 'going with it' a LOT more than TFs. I believe that had to do with a ascertainable plot. Cobra is trying to terrorize the world into giving them money in a very Jame Bond-ish way. GI Joe is trying to stop them. The individual parts like revealing Cobra Commander and stuff just made me cringe with their badness. Very very badness. Still miles above and beyond RotF. Was there even a plot? A bad plot? I gotta admit the one good thing about it was Optimus beating the shit out of the Decepticons in the forest, and then again in the desert. "Give me your face!" That line is an instant classic. There was also that scene at the end when Optimus puts Megatron through the wall, and when Megs calls out for Starscream it comes out "THARSCWEAMGHUR". To be fair, RotF was simply too full of uncomfortable scenes with weirdly racist robots and way-over-the-top sex/toilet/stoner "humor" to fit a plot in there too. I actually found the first Transformers a lot of fun, but the second was kind of unbelievable in its level of awfulness. Hard to understand how it could be written by the same guys as Star Trek. I also love the Seekers and have Masterpiece Starscream and Skywarp and the classics versions of Starscream and Ramjet and my friend just showed me that they are releasing a classics version of Thrust who is my favorite seeker.
