ufemizm
Does it make anyone else sad that Diamond re-designed the site, but still has The Godfather and Beverly Hills Cop minimates listed? http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/minimates
karamazov80
They're obviously going to release those sets after all! Thanks, DST!
TM2 Dinobot
DC MINIMATES!!! YAY!
hellpop
Hope springs eternal, I guess.
Lobsterman
Weirdly, DC Minimates are not listed on there. Whatever spat happened between them must have been pretty nasty.
karamazov80
Too bad DC isn't getting re-released alongside Beverly Hills Cop and the Godfather
DSTZach
No spat. DC Minimates were never listed on the site, because we didn't release them. DC Direct did. We just did the design work. Godfather and BHC still popping up is a glitch. I think we missed some categories that should have been archived. Sorry to raise hopes. If anyone sees any other problems with the new site, let me know.
Lobsterman
No spat. DC Minimates were never listed on the site, because we didn't release them. DC Direct did. We just did the design work. I thought that too, but then I saw the Thundercats listed, which I thought was the same situation. Splitting hairs, I guess.
youbastards
DC Direct actually distributed the DC mates, while DST distributed the Thundercats 'mates as "work-for-hire"?
Lobsterman
Okay, sure.
darthdoughboy
Zach, man now I'm bummed there's no Beverly Hills Cop minimates coming. Sigh, I guess I'll go take the banana out of the tailpipe of my wife's car.
buttheadsmate
During my 'blow out' somebody here offered me $15 for a Godfather box set I politely declined. Two of us know that that is absolutely true .
DSTZach
It was the same situation, actually, EXCEPT we distributed exactly one Thundercats set, the Previews exclusive Thundercats Ho! set. Otherwise, we made the Cats for Icon like we made DC for, uh, DC.
hellpop
And you're making Masters of the Universe for Icon! Right, Zach? RIGHT?!
TM2 Dinobot
Art Asylum did the work for DC and TC. Yeah, I know, they're owned by Diamond, so big whoop, right? Well a DBA or a different LLC can make the world of difference on the legal end. Meaning we, for a time, got Thundercats and DC minimates. DarkRedShadow
The Kill Bill mates are listed under "Quentin Tarantino"; I assume the Pulp Fiction mates will be listed there as well, but werent these mates supposed to be under "Mirmax"? If the license is for all Quentin films, is there a chance for Django? (Sorry if already asked)
DSTZach
Nope, still just Miramax. I just didn't want to put all of the different elements of the Miramax deal under one category. I have separate entries for Kevin Smith and Sin City, too. I may even split up Quentin into Pulp and Kill, since those are the two we're focusing on right now.
