lastweaponmaster
Hi. As a long time Minimate Collector, I have kept most of the packaging/boxes that the minimates originally came in. I have almost run out of room to display my minimates but the packaging that I have kept is starting to make my den look like a warehouse. I am just wondering for those people that take their minimates out of their packaging, what do you do with the packaging? Do you keep them for future (re)packaging, flatten the boxes or just throw the boxes away? Just wondering if I should start recycling them. MiniFiend UK
I bin it I do have some still in box stuff but that is mostly extra variant or harder to get stuff. If its a general release wave then after taking the mates out I bin the box etc.
warburger
I throw out the clamshells and flatten the box for possible diorama purposes. This way, it doesnt take up much space. Anyway, if you should ever sell your minimates collection down the line, I noticed that there isn't much price difference between packaged and loose mates. After all, mates are small and would be better to be taken out, played and displayed, unlike Marvel Legends, Marvel universe which have some added value if it was packaged and sealed. MiniMage
I keep the plastic and the box the same way they are. And I put them in a special corner in my MM display. Sadly, even though I'm a noob at collecting I'm starting to run out of options of where to keep my boxes (I just can't stop buying).
buttheadsmate
I carefully remove the tape from the mint package with a scalpel & then remove the tray containing the Minimates. I then remove the tape from the trays subsequently removing any tape residue from the packaging with solvent whilst placing the Minimates into ziplocks immediately . When all the packaging is clean I carefully study the packaging for spelling mistakes & printing imperfections & then I carefully flatten the card packaging & then stack the clear plastic trays in a safe place . Then I throw the Minimates away.

Well bowled sir.
Jeff
I throw away the cardboard, keep the molded insert to ship out trades to members here and use the flat window piece to paint customs or use a mixing paint trays and drying racks. MINI_MYTE
Clamshell / tray portions goes into the blue recycle bin (plastics and glass) and the card stock / boxes go into the black recycle bin (cardboard and paper).

MM-Royalninja
I just put them carefully in a box...So I can sell it boxed later in the future(But I doubt I will ever do that)
karamazov80
I used to keep all of them in case I needed to resell. But now I just toss them. They take up way too much space.
Mystery Man
I used to keep all my extra's sealed, too, but I just don't have the room. Each set gets opened, moved around to make sure no joints break, and stored in plastic hobby boxes. Cardboard gets chunked and plastic gets recycled. Ninja Mate
I saved all the boxes.....but now I don't really want them. All boxes up for trade if anyone is interested (minimates not included) . Probably have over 100 packages. I'll try and get a list. Rheul
I used to keep all of them in case I needed to resell. But now I just toss them. They take up way too much space. I'm on the verge of throwing mine out. I have almost all of my boxes but they are starting to get on my nerves.
gambitron
I have only kept my Marvel boxes for the variants from each wave and a maybe 5 other random boxes that have some other meaning to me otherwise it would take up way too much room. minimadman
Most of mine get shredded in the opening. I have never been one to keep packaging so I rip into them like a kid on Christmas. Then I throw the Minimates away. Then I raid BHM's garbage like a raccoon.
force2099
I trash them. Edited November 4, 2012 by force2099
Marduk
I'm a MOC/loose BSG guy. I know they won't be "worth" much in the future (like most mass-produced collectibles). I just like collecting them, and since they stopped making new BSG mates, I figured I'd just start on a second set. I cut blisters off cards, store the blisters, then keep the cards. The boxes I flatten and store Edited November 4, 2012 by Marduk
Shanester
I either keep them MIP or I don't. For the openers, the plastic gets recycled.
SuperChefMate
I actually have been wondering the same thing myself, I never could bring myself throw away the boxes. I have always collected one of each style of box for the box itself because of the way minimate packs have changed (especially Marvel), because that's part of the history of minimates and I want a piece of that. Until now, I have kept all the other packs in boxes just laying around, but now I feel more okay with recycling them.
rabozza
for the ones i open I toss the packaging, otherwise i just leave them in. i've bought so many lately that i've got a ton of unopened in storage bins in my spare bedroom
tones
with the carded mates, I save 1 card from each wave and recycle the rest. the boxes however i save, i love the mate drawings on the packaging so i cant bring myself to chuck em. they are all boxed up but i will admit they are starting to take up too much space so i might have to rethink saving them. i might cut the pictures off and make some kind of album for them. highassroller
I keep 1 set MIB and then I will out the other open boxes in bin. Recently, due to space, I put all my mates back in their boxes and found out I missed alot of the earlier sets MIB. Due to BHM, I filled my MIB early sets. havok
I recycle the packaging. I used to keep card backs of the Toy Biz X-men. The only figures in recent memory that I've kept the packaging for are the 4 Horsemen Outer Spacemen.
MMao
I snapped a quick and dirty one specifically for this thread... I admit that they do take up more room than I'd like, but I do use them as part of my shelf display. So I guess it ain't that bad, at the moment...
