  1. I had the same issues but the managers at the stores that had the minimates were willing to override and make the sales. Not sure if my explaining the street date thing helped or not. My impressions after having the figures in hand: Iron Man: If my only exposure to this look was the minimate I'd think it was a pretty good figure, but now that I've seen the arm cannons on other figures this seems pretty bare bones. I dislike the printed mask compared to a sculpted mask but it might be better than using a normal head. The chest piece is a nice addition and of course there's the normal Stark head, looking angry. It's probably new even though you might be hard-pressed to tell it from other angry Starks. Thanos: While no one really loves the costume, this minimate looks a lot better in person than in the pics. Pushing the chest cap down and eliminating the gap that you see in DST's pictures makes a big difference. The choice of a bare arm or the gauntlet is a nice extra and I'm impressed with the face and the printing on the arms. Doctor Strange: Exactly the same except for a new face. Some pictures show him with fingerless gloves, that would have been a nice way to differentiate him from the previous release. Too bad we couldn't get any new magic accessories. Thor: Since there's a lot of confusion about the face and I'm not sure which is correct I'm going to leave that concern out. A nice enough figure for what it is but it feels like it desperately needs something else. If they couldn't do his new weapon some lightning effects would have been nice. With so many characters I hate to ask for one twice but it really seems like we're going to need a second Thor. Hulk: Not much new here, it's a standard Hulk. The face is weird. I'm sure DST is going for something specific to a still or piece of art but I don't think it's working. Spider-Man: Maybe the best figure of the wave. The costume doesn't seem quite so ugly on the minimate. The printing on the body is well done and the legs are an awesome addition. The eyes on my figure are off-center and you can see webs through the eyes, but that's a problem with practically every Spider-Man figure DST makes anymore. The unmasked head is nice to have though the expression is pretty basic. Star-Lord: I like the face print and the jacket is nice to have. He also appears to have boot rockets printed on the legs. Proxima Midnight: This figure is right up there with Spider-Man as the best of the wave. The sculpted head, arm, and weapon look good and the figure feels complete. The printing is very nice. She'd fit in very well with the Mass Effect minimates.
  2. It's a re-release of the BAF from a few years ago with an Infinity Gauntlet.
  3. Have most SW collectors changed scales? I've never been that plugged in to the specific communities but speaking for myself, I mostly quit.
  4. A distinction without a difference. If Gunn wants to insist people type out adolescent instead, good luck with that.
  5. I hope it involves a character in a suit.
  6. With the 3.75" collector lines effectively dead I find this a tough sell. I'd agree it would have made sense to give people a little warning before asking for money.
  7. That diorama isn't sweet enough to quell my concerns but I guess it's something.
  8. While we're still early in the BAF era of minimates I think it's unlikely that we're going to get bulked-up characters. The BAF selections so far have been pretty simple minimates and largely made up of existing parts, that seems likely to be the formula. So, Rick Jones? Yeah, probably. Dragon Man? Probably not. But, hey, I guess DST could surprise me.
  9. I guess it would depend how large a display you could make. If it's just big enough for one figure I'm not sure I'd be interested. Now if it gave us a way to display some of the accessories that were mentioned in the other thread that might be interesting.
  10. Shroud seems like a character that might have a small chance at getting made since he could probably be done with existing parts. I've always thought he's a character that could be used so much better in the comics. I'm convinced the 2008 GotG are never going to happen.

This is an awesome sentence. Kraven would seem like a great candidate for the next major Spider-Man villain to get updated. And, as I mentioned in another thread, they could throw in a Chameleon head as an accessory.
  12. When we started discussing this I wasn't that interested in the Life Foundation symbiotes but I'm coming around, especially after seeing the Marvel Legends figures. As long as they had some new parts I would be in.
  13. Did DCC say anything at Toy Fair that would cause us not to panic? I didn't see anything.

Can't speak for Zach but I think that. There's some serious misjudgement on the popularity of the Hellions here.
  15. So are the first sets of minimates, which is probably part of the problem.
  16. If I remember correctly the original Iron Spider-Man costume had three waldoes but when it showed up later there were four, probably because someone realized it was dumb to have just three.
  17. That's definitely one of the better movie Iron Man minimates. I like that we're getting a new jacket for Quill too. I'd argue War Machine's armor really isn't that similar to the existing releases.
  18. Wouldn't those figures be all new tooling? I think they're nice for what they are but not really my cup of tea.
  19. Yes, it's definitely not the same color as in the movie.
  20. The Puck hand idea is brilliant.

You read my mind. I actually have that book sitting here and I need to read it. Then, presumably, more wishlisting. The other ideas are good too, I would certainly buy the rest of the cast. I'd imagine Venom and Carnage would show up at TRU again though, like Marvel NOW Deadpool did.
  22. It's interesting to me that Kingdom Hearts seems to be the only license where we have fully sculpted heads on a consistent basis. It would definitely help these figures.
  23. It was definitely a good call. I thought a Maximum Carnage wave would be a natural tie-in but I hadn't expected DST to do it because of all the redone characters, that was wrong. It will be interesting to see if any of the other ideas people had show up elsewhere, like in a Venom TRU wave.
