  1. Change is happening and what puts him in such a unique position is that he is not only leading the charge for change but is inspiring everyone to take part in it. He has the opportunity to raise America up to heights that have only been dreamed of. He acknowledges that it will not be overnight and that it will be hard work. We are standing on the ledge of the next great age of our country's history so why don't we all take a deep breath and jump.
  2. Awesome speech. DST hit us up with an Obama Mate. There are no rights to acquire, God I love public domain.
  3. Good to hear that 24 mates may be back from the land of "on hold". Never cared for star trek mates but I sympathize with those of you who did.
  4. I must have as many of these as possible. My love for possible civilian mates knows no bounds.
  5. I don't see him having much of a leg to stand on as far as being pissed about his likeness being used. Since becoming govenor of California his likeness has become public domain. DST could package his figure wearing the red dress the caprica six wears and there is nothing he can do about it.
  6. I'm glad you kids worked it out. It seems like only yesterday he was refering to everyone as "40 year old virgins". Oh the good times.
  7. I was only buying the movie one to make customs. I have no interest in these at all. Although I will say I do like the fact that you can see the sock on the damaged Spirit minimate. Bravo on the detail to a minimate that will never see the inside of a store.
  8. The thing about the academy though is that the Hollywood professionals vote on it and everyone in that town will be sympathetic and vote for Ledger. So everything boils down to a popularity contest. This summer many were saying he had an outside shot at best but honestly I think it's almost a foregone conclusion that the "hip" thing to do will be to vote for him. Clooney won as Oscar that year but it was in the supporting category and Ledger was nominated in the Best Actor category which went to Phillip Seymour Hoffman for Capote. Hoffman again may play a fly in the ointment for his role in Doubt, as could James Franco in Milk, Josh Brolin in Milk. Like I said before it's a popularity contest, and though I have no intention of taking anything away from his brilliant performance in Dark Knight, Ledger is the popular choice.
  9. From Danny Boyle (who also directed 28 Days Later, Millions, Sunshine, Trainspotting, and The Beach) It is the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show? When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. At the heart of its storytelling lies the question of how anyone comes to know the things they know about life and love.
  10. Did you only see those four movies this year? Here are my picks. Best Actor: Mickey Rourke in the Wrestler. He was heartbreakingly good in that movie and turned in an honest and very real performance and is deserving of all of the praise that is being heaped on him. Best Actress: Kate Winslet for Revolution Road. She is always great and I think this is the year that she is rewarded for her awesomeness. If she doesn't win the actress category then she will certainly win supporting for The Reader. Supporting Actor will probably go to Heath Ledger for Dark Knight. It's not that I don't think he was amazing in Dark Knight but I have to wonder if he had not died would there be all of this hype? Best Original Screenplay will probably go to Frost/Nixon. Best Adapted Screenplay has to go Slumdog Millionaire. Regardless of whether or not it wins best picture it is the best movie of the year. Best Director is Danny Boyle for Slumdog Millionaire. If you have not seen this movie make plans to correct that huge oversight immediately. Best Animated is Wall E. If the Oscar for Best Animated Feature was a championship like in wrestling and Wall E had to defend it every year it would remain undefeated forever. That movie has a soul which is rare for any movie these days let alone an animated one about a robot love story. Wall E should also be nominated for Best Picture. Best Picture is Slumdog Millionaire. Period. Waking Life came out in 2001 and here are the nominees for Best Animated Feature for that year. Shrek won.
  11. Your emoticon of the erupting toilet is of course relevant . It's in my signature...his were attachments...i hardly see a fault here...good try though. I think what he was trying to convey is that it is also both annoying and pointless
  12. If you like working with numbers I say get back in school get a degree in finance and go work for the FBI. They are hiring like mad and need people with number type backgrounds.
  13. Damn I really want that Nova. I wish these were available solo. I only want the Nova and Stark War Machine.
  14. Damn I really wanted these too. It was the only avenue left for civilian mates. I really want more civilian mates.
  15. I have seen this a lot in the thread so I went back and looked at the minimates for the Ghost Rider movie and they were extremely mediocre. I would like the punisher ones too though.
  16. I am in the process of a degree in criminal justice and I plan to be a police so I find that disturbing. I could not imagine law enforcement without a gun. Didn't Britain outlaw guns to cut down violent crime? I read something over the summer about a bunch of stabbings, it's like you can't win.
  17. It's the South guns are what we do.
  18. Santa had no problem getting to me here. It was 86 degrees here today. On a similar regional note did anyone else get a gun for Christmas. I got this it is a Glock 23 and is awesome.
  19. Toy News International posted this. I will buy these to make a sweet and cute Hellboy key chain out of. http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=169&itemid=13817 and BTW has anyone bought the new Hobgoblin Superhero Squad set to see how the included glider looks with minimates?
  20. It probably doesn't matter just call up the nearest one.
  21. If you call a Suncoast store and ask them they will transfer mates to FYE stores that is what i did when the 24 exclusives came out.
  22. Blue Jeans Gray Dunder Mifflin Tshirt under a black Spider-Man 3 "Evil Peter" Hoodie. Black and White Checkerboard Vans Iron Man movie hair piece Red Sox hat alternate hairpiece Lap Top iPhone Motorcycle Damn it would be awesome if you could do this for real.
