Has anyone bought the Readysetz play sets yet?

I have been thinking about this a lot today. I’m not a Classic Trek person as I didn’t jump in until TNG and then I watched through DS9/Voyager but dropped off. I have always wanted mates of “my Trek” and have only ever bought mates of the Original Trek because I needed parts for something. With Discovery on and allegedly doing well it would be great to see this mix and match set come to life for TNG.

Yeah it was was a bit lonely under the tree but I am getting flashbacks of the Starwars days when the gift set was just a coupon for toys I was getting later!

There is a whole industry built around influencers and influencer relations. From managers to lawyers to agents it's pretty booming. Normally most brands go through an agency to book influencers (usually it is for legal reasons as it offers brands more protection) but there typically is a vetting process that depending on the industry and the savvy of the team will be pretty complete. Especially with the FCC cracking down on influencers it's pretty much the same as any other talent agreement. Some brands though will give a "surprise and delight" moment to loyal fans of brands but it is at their discretion.

He likely charges a lot for the honor, but we send stuff to lots of people. Yeah, influencers can make anywhere from 10-20K easy per post and they don't even have the network that that kid has. I have noticed that DST is working with some like the Unboxers but it is a challenging field and at the end of the day it just costs money. It's not as simple as post something and it will go "viral". A lot of "viral" moments cost thousands if not hundreds of thousands to create. This is why a lot of people with limited marketing budget just go after fewer partnerships and getting into deeper ones. I would imagine that DST probably uses a bit on SEO and if I were them I would buy around keywords that are Lego related as they are often compared. Either way the best thing for all minimate enthusiasts is to share their love for the brand as much as possible and everywhere possible especially with the younger kids as they can make or break a toy line. This really hurts my heart as I can't stand POPs. I do like Vinimates I just don't have space for them so I just admire from afar. You almost got me with the Batgirl/Nightwing two pack but sadly a NYC apartment doesn't leave space for everything one wants.

Well, I wouldn't normally be excited for this box set as that Carol is not the best in any way shape or form for my standards BUT those Kree and Skrull mates make this an easy build and we get both genders of Kree. Easy swap out to get the pink skinned ones so this is a must buy.

And the thing we all forgot... contracts... Variety is reporting there is a 2 year "resting" clause. Marvel Netflix shows was said to include a clause preventing the characters of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones from showing up in “any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation.” Disney+, despite being owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company, the parent company of Marvel Television, does not appear to be exempt from the contract. Well, it was fun whilst it lasted. Unless Marvel want to pay to get out of it these versions may not be back.

Distribution has been weird for these waves. In NYC, IW1 and the animated waves were fine (excluding Hyperion) but then IW2 came out but we were clogged with Thor and Black Panther so I didn’t see a restock of IW2 for almost 6 months. Wave 8/9 came out right on time but then 9 disappeared for a bit whilst 7 miraculously came back in. 8 came back and has been sat on the stores. I found BC in New Jersey (but then lost the loose figures in my bag). I didn’t see BC again until I bought the set of wave 8 at my local store and donated them to toys for tots. Why this matters? There are over 200 stores in Manhattan Area (Duane Reade and Walgreens) so I easily hit 20/30 stores walking around in an afternoon. Most Friday’s I start work early and finish by 2 pm. It could just be a flaw in the distribution map as these are all in the same district but it does give me a weird perception of what is selling and I think that wave 9 is out just selling really really well on the east but waves 7/8 didn’t which is what’s blocking 9. I have no idea what happened to IW2 but I’m about to give up.

Yeah, based on what will be a glut of options from this movie for you fans I would say we would be lucky to get two waves and a box set. I’m hoping that what I’m seeing on the shelves isn’t representative of the actual sales figures or how waves sold.

Well now that wave 60 comment makes sense...

I have become obsessed with hands lately (I think it’s from the dst select lines I buy for the dioramas) and I wish we got the standard hands, pointing hands, and athletic hands as a standard accessory for each minimate.

They have the eco system. Marvel Unlimited is an amazing comics platform. They have enough content and own 66% of Hulu now in addition to Disney+ so it wouldn’t be too hard a stretch to buy out NBC and just have Hulu morph into it.
