  1. Agree with Fujis! Well done on the details Prowlar. Thank you Fujis and MINI MYTE. I've been using that color scheme since I started writing science fiction way back in 1990 after my very first custom figure. I added white stripes to a He-Man Panthor figure after all the purple flocking came off. Since then I've had a custom that used a black and white scheme in just about every line I collected from a Storm Trooper dipped in black paint and then scratching away white markings to an 8" G.I. Joe Sigma 6 figure. Of course each time I tell myself I'm never going to do another one but eventually I find myself thinking "Cripes, why did I ever choose stripes." I thought I was safe with minimates since I'd never attempted something so small and complex and because I never imagined I'd attempt sculpting and there was just no way I was going to use the existing inadequate cat tail from Feral. Still I'm really happy with the way my first attempts came out. As for his weapons the only thing I really had to work on was his Rushing Blade and after making one in the 8" scale it was easy to pull off. I do have to admit that even though I've considered a 1:1 scale version I'm just not yet ready/brave enough to crank up a cutting torch.
  2. Name: Tegra (true name unknown) Beast Classification: Tiger (genetically altered) Planet of Origin: Tegra (destroyed) Primary Specialty: Bounty Hunter Tegra is perhaps the only survivor of the planet Tegra. The separatist colony was founded by a group of beasts that had grown tired of the endless fighting and chose to follow a strict path of pacifism. Their natural tendencies for violence were channeled into rigorous physical martial arts practices that were balanced with meditation and contemplation. For centuries the colony survived due to the simple fact that Tegra was hidden in a binary sun system. Unfortunately due to the careless actions of a single individual, Tegra, and his fascination with the ancient spacecraft that had carried the colony to Tegra they were discovered and destroyed. However it was also this knowledge that allowed the severely burned teen to escape. After finding a Battle Beast space outpost Hunter was treated and quickly sent back out to continue fighting. That scarred tiger was never seen again. However from the ashes a new fighter appeared. After the cursory healing he had received from the Battle Beast medics Tegra went in search of real medical professionals in order to transform himself at the genetic level. Once his transformation was complete he started working as a bounty hunter and quickly made a name for himself. The reason for his quick rise to infamy was two fold. The first reason was because, unlike other hunters, he preferred to take bounties that required live capture and second, if he judged that his employer had lied about the crimes or motives of the target, he would return the money he had been paid to his employer's corpse. His current bounty has brought him to the planet Earth. Whether he is hunting a Battle Beast, a human, or for an artifact is unknown. However, no being should sleep comfortably until his mission has been completed.
  3. Perhaps a Dark Phoenix wave: Cyclops/Jason Wynguard (Mastermind) Disco Dazzler/Sebastian Shaw Dark Phoenix/Shi'Ar Trooper Marvel Girl/Shi'Ar Trooper
  4. I'm*think* he wore it . . . kinda like Tony Stark wears the IronMan armour. But don't quote me on that. I haven't actually read much AlphaFlight. If I remember correctly all of the Box versions were robots. Rather than putting it on like a suit the controller would phase into or merge with it. However once Jefferies merged with it he was able to use his mutant abilities to reshape it into just about any configuration or weapon he needed from a wheel to a starship.
  5. I like it have each pack include an individual and their favorite marvel character. Though rather than have this as wave 50 it should be annual convention exclusive packs. For my 50th wave list Cerise/Korvus Deathcry/Deathbird X-Factor Uniform Val Cooper/Forge 90's Black Knight/Sersi Narrowly edged out Kazar/Zabu and Corsair/Hepzibah due to the fact that both of those would go better in Savage Land and Starjammers four packs.
  6. Luke, to keep in the spirit of things, I just have to ask will the production version of Krystar be translucent? Now on to the survey mentioned, while I had a few figures from many different lines, I have to say that I never had any for your 80's line-up. Maybe that is the reason I can't wait for their release especially the Krystar and Chuck Norris mates. As for 80's toylines I had, discounting the ones that have already returned (Battle Beasts and Ghostbusters) or those that are still in some form of production (G.I. Joe, Thundercats, etc.), I'd love to see characters from Visionaries, Bravestarr, Rambo, M.A.S.K., Centurions, and Silverhawks. It really is amazing work. I'm not a big Chuck Norris fan but just looking at that custom makes me think my collection is greatly lacking in not having one. It also makes me realize that the toys that the 80's needed most were minimates.
  7. What about The Last Avengers Story sets? After all Kang, Grim Reaper, and Hawkeye were all characters in that story and if the sets have extra parts to create both classic and alternate universe looks it would be perfect.
  8. Damage Control: Rebuilding health one body at a time.
  9. I know exactly what I want to do, a custom character I have in nearly every toy format I've collected. So I've spent the day working out parts, weapons, and armor. Once everything was ready for the building phase it hit me that there is are two very good reasons I haven't already done the character before the first is that I have no idea how to make the digigrade lower legs work and second I have no idea where I'm going to find an appropriate head. Still, by the end of this contest I'll have a night tiger Battle Beast minimate.
  10. Of all Hawkeye's suit variations no one has yet mentioned the yellow and brown cross between brown suit Wolverine and AOA Sabertooth costume from Heroes Reborn.
  11. I thought that we already knew who Kang was going to be paired with. As shown on April first, in what is now obviously a packaging test shot, he'll be in with a repackaged Best of Wave Wolverine.
  12. I hope the head and body armor aren't all one sculpted piece. If it is it'll kill the Quark custom I was planning.
  13. With the release of characters like MODOK and the Brood I really don't understand why a Shuma Gorath mate isn't possible. A slide on body (like Slimer), a twin arm peg body regular hips for another two arms all tipped with Brood tentacles, and a T-Stand for a floating effect. Or if the floaty version isn't right then go with a slip over torso/eye and use a modified arm on the neck peg giving him three tentacles and a coiled triple tentacle base to hold him up. Naturally there are those that will whine that he doesn't look like a minimate but I doubt that would stop very many from adding him to their collection.
  14. Fixed that. I blame sleep deprivation. I may do all of my writing in the middle of the night but all of my editing during the day. This one instance being the exception due to the fact that I made the mistake of flipping through Vol. 1 again and I've now re-read the series through Vol. 4. I really should know better than starting something like that since I really tend to loose track of time.
  15. With the Walking Dead survivors getting most of the attention in the comics and the zombies only showing up in a single panel, unless they are one of the lucky ones to get a bite to eat or re-killed, I thought they could use a little attention. So, since there are plenty of most wanted lists for just about all the other lines I thought I'd start one for the Zombies. My most wanted: 1. Fat woman outside The Gun Site gun shop in Atlanta 3 panels. Re-killed by Rick 2. Fat man in Ford shirt on the back cover of the Vol. 1 Trade. 3. Woman holding a teddy bear as Glenn and Rick return to Atlanta 2 panels 4. Blind man in open back hospital gown as Glenn and Rick escape in the rain 1 panel 5. Granny during camp attack. Killed by Glenn as she attacks Carol and Sophia 2 panels
  16. I can see a lot of crying coming out of this elusive pack. From the Kang coalition "AT LAST!" to the the Squirrel Girl squad "Why another yellow Wolverine?". Naturally the Rocket Raccoon revolutionaries will just grumble and look for someone or something to bite.
  17. Polaris TTA Malice Muir Island X-Factor Red and Gold Uniform Pink Uniform Nightcrawler TTA Pirate (Nightcrawler Limited Series) Excalibur Swashbuckler Uniform AOA X-Force This set should also come with a Bamf character accessory as a bonus She-Hulk Savage Fantastic Four Lawyer Red She-Hulk Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel Red Uniform Ms. Marvel Black Uniform Binary Warbird Armor Strong Guy Suit (Dazzler's Body Guard version) 90's X-Factor AOA Modern X-Factor Northstar Alpha Flight Alpha Flight Red Uniform AoA X-Men Magneto Xorn Joseph (X-Men blue and yellow) Ultimate X-Men purple and white uniform Others Nick Fury Doom Mystique And of course to better round out many an Avengers team there needs to be sets for: Scarlet Witch Hercules Black Knight
  18. I don't have a local TRU so I feel lucky any time I'm able to get the exclusives at all and it's a red letter day when I can get a single pack for less than a box set. I understand the business reasons behind exclusives but at the same time I really hate them. No matter the toy line I've always thought that an exclusive should have a broader re-released a year later in altered packaging so that collectors can have the "exclusive" collectible and everyone else can still afford to have a copy of the figure. Still, I know that isn't realistic so my collection is likely to forever be lacking the likes of X-Factor Angel and Swordsman.
  19. @pawcanada, yeah I considered doing Eagle but after going through my parts box I just didn't have the parts to do him justice. Mainly a head with the handlebar mustache and a white shirt with bow tie. The QC wouldnt be that hard with an extra Wolverine/Patch with the jacket removed and white feet. Use the new JJJ arms with rolled up sleeves and Daredevil's sticks. Wolfsbane's red hair with the pony tail snipped off would just about complete the custom. I know I've seen a head that would work for the custom but without searching the database or my collection I can't remember which one it is. @jcastick, hint all you want but until the right parts come along I doubt I'll be doing any other SF characters. As for the "inspiration", well, how did you know what I was already using as a basic guide to the characters? As for the game, I think my first experience was with it was Super Street Fighter, or whichever one was first released on the SNES. Though when MvC3 was announced I was surprised to find that I had Street Fighter on the Capcom Classics compilation for the PSP.
  20. With all the buzz about Street Fighter I decided to at least familiarize myself with the looks of the characters. As I was going through character pictures Joe jumped out and screamed easy quick custom. I still don't know much about the games since at the time I was a die hard role playing gamer and the only fighting games that I ever bothered with was the Bloody Roar series. Joe QC Cap Hair and belt Agent Coulson head Modern Mandarin body Also a WIP picture of my next project The Warriors X. Loki, having failed in his schemes when The Avengers formed turned his sights to creating his own super human team to use against Thor and the Avengers. A quick search of Midgard showed him that mutants, the next evolutionary step of mankind, would make the best recruits considering their status as outcasts. To this end he intended to transport the group known as the Brotherhood of evil Mutants to Asgard to enhance their considerable powers with the magic/technology of the Gods. As the transportation spell was taking effect Magneto sensed the danger and was able to save all but Pyro and the X-Men from being whisked away. Unfortunately, for Loki, the spell was broken and the mutants were scattered across the realms. In their quest to find each other and return to Earth the individuals had to adapt to their new situations. Marvel Girl joins the Valkyries. Beast finds himself in in the realm of the dwarfs and infected by a sickness that is slowly mutating him into a rock troll. Angel ends up merged with Odin's raven Hunin. Cyclops is discovered by the Warriors Three and becomes their hero trainee. Ice Man finds himself in the realm of the Frost Giants. Pyro is engulfed and transformed by the flames of Surture. Yeah, there are errors there but they'll be all worked out by the time I write up the final bio/adventure files for each character. A few changes that are already planned are that Jean will get a skirt from Skaadi in the Worthy Set I'm hoping that there'll be a set of black wings with a Jin/Devil Jin in the SFxT line otherwise I'll have to paint Angel's wings. At some point Scott will get gold gauntlets and I'm not still not happy with Beast and I may switch out the Thing parts for the Grey Gargoyle (Worthy) or the new Rhino. I'm also not sure about the chest armor on Pyro and may rework that as well. Over all the only one that is completed and I'm happy with is Lord Drake of the Frost Giants.
  21. So if the TRU selection is showing up at LCS's does that mean that we'll be able to build a Sentinel army without having to pay ungodly online premiums? I may as well live in another country considering I don't have access to a LCS or TRU. Local of course being within a hundred miles.
  22. I know that you said that all FF7 characters need to be made but I'm still putting down Red XIII simply because he'd likely fall dead last on most character lists. Beyond that I'd like in no particular order FF6 Terra (Human) Locke Edgar Setzer Mog the moogle FF7: Crisis Core Genesis Zack FF8 Squall Zell with hoverboard Fujin Raijin Wedge and Biggs Moomba FFX Kimahri (I'm waiting to see the Battle Beast line before I consider doing a custom) FFX-2 Yuna Gunner, Beserker, and Trainer Riku Gunner, Thief, and Berserker Paine Warrior and Songstress Other Square Properties to go along with Final Fantasy ChronoTrigger and ChronoCross, Star Ocean Series, The World Ends with You, And perhaps the biggest of all Kingdom Hearts. Minimate Keyblades for everybody! Of course it'll most likely never happen unless of course we see a Capcom vs. Square Enix or Street Fighter X Final Fantasy Dissidia.
  23. Puddle Jumper or Death Glider (Stargate) Turtle Wagon Dale's Motorhome Walking Dead Rick's Police Cruiser Walking Dead also needed for MAX line
  24. Isn't that Rule 2? Rule 1: Double Tap Rule 2: Cardio Rule 3: Seat Belts Or something like that.
  25. Better yet, by reusing the puffy shoulder arms, Halo Spartan belt, and the thin waist would give him pretty good articulation. He can't cross his legs but without doing sculpted legs that wouldn't happen anyway and the puffy sleeves is a good imitation of his loincloth/wrap. So the only new new parts that he would need would be a new beard/hair piece, his bull-roarer accessory, and possibly a new foot/boot. As a plus the only tampos needed would be his face, chest, and possibly his back. Hey, we got a teleporting dog with Outback Psyloche so packaging him with Avengers Crystal (Black and White uniform) or Medusa would make a twisted sort of sense.
