Children of Oberon (revisited) I have done a few modifications and so now I am sharing all my Children of Oberon customs. First up: Queen Mab, Oberon and Titania The Weird Sisters: Selena, Phoebe & Luna Anansi, Banshee and Puck Coyote, Raven & Grandmother Odin, Hades & Anubis Nought & the Green Knight Merlin, Lady of the Lake & Morgan le Fay a Cyclops & Medusa a Gargoyle & a female Wraith The female Wraith I just made because I liked the idea of a new character to the line and gives Titania a henchwoman of sorts. This should be all my "Children of Oberon" customs. I hope you like them. Sleipnir is the only one that I have not made a custom for because there is not a horse for minimates yet. I hope to get my updated "Once Upon a Time", Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and "Revolution" customs photographed soon and posted to share. I am also working on a group I am calling The M.I.S.F.I.T.S which I will say are inspired by Prowl-AR. I am even working on a group of rivals for my M.I.S.F.I.T.S. and also working on a name for them. Thank you.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Pestilence, War, Famine and Death I decided to go with Pestilence over Conquest because more people are familiar with Pestilence. Pestilence is a symbol of all the illnesses that will wipe out a fourth of all life when the Apocalypse is upon us. (I choose Pestilence because he is more accepted than Conquest. However, many may think of War and Conquest as one in the same but they are different. There are a few different versions of the Horsemen so I opted for this version and made it my own.) War appears to be the largest but that is merely his armor, he is the one who will wipe out a fourth of the remaining life with the battles, bloodshed and spoils that come with raging war. Famine is the symbol of what it is like to be so hungry it kills you. This version was so hungry he started to eat of himself. Famine will cause yet a fourth of the remaining life to die. Death is of course the one who comes at the end of the Apocalypse to take all the souls who perished from the first three horsemen. (Death has a different weapon now but I have not updated my photo at this time.) I hope you like them.

I did order a couple of parts from Dave's Shapeways site. Looking forward to getting them and using them in the customs I am working on. Then I have my eye on a couple of other parts if I like what I ordered. Thank you for the service you provide in making custom minimate parts.

I would like to know who each of these are to be sure I am understanding my knowledge of Spider-man. Some I recognize but some I do not. Could someone please post a roster of the character in this picture to help me realize just who is which Spider-man or relative there of? Thank you in advance.

I may get a set of these mates merely for the football player zombie. I love the game but just something about seeing the plants in minimate form is not my choice. Also the construction worker does not make me think of the game. So you are saying that we will see different PvZ mates at TRU? Any way we can see images of them soon?

So are Walmart and Target and Barnes & Noble going to start carrying Minimates? I missed this tidbit. Are they only carrying specific mates or will they have LCS mates or the same as the Box Stores? I don't have any LCS in my area that carries minimates so if B&N were to carry the same mates as LCS wave that would be nice. (likely not going to happen but a dream I am allowed to have.)

For the Salt Vampire I used King Pin's chest block (without the chest piece) and arms (without the hand pieces); the legs and hip piece were from a white blank I found that did not have a chest block. The loincloth is from Moloid and the hair piece is that form the Architect Ghost (Messy Hair Piece that Luke sold at one time, also think it is the same mold from one of the Sentry figures). The hands and feet are from "The Creature from the Black Lagoon, which I happened to get and extra from eBay so I could part him out. I used Liney's decals for the chest, back and face. I mixed a very small drop of grey paint with white for the hair. I kept the shoulder pieces on the arms to make it look bulkier since the creature was larger when it was not taking the form of a human or such. I know the feet in the episode are not green but I was thinking if the hands and face have a greenish color then the feet should as well. I took a creative license with how my made my custom. I still want to paint the bottom of the head piece and the sides of chest where the decal makes you think it should be covered. The last image makes me think you are doing "Dead Presidents". I see Teddy Roosevelt and Abe Lincoln and I really like what you have started. I wish they made the former presidents in Minimate form. I would like a collection of presidential minimates (really just Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Kennedy and Reagan). Thank you for sharing your WIPs.

Here is my most recent Star Trek custom with the help of Liney. She is still something of a WIP but she is almost finished. I am going to touch up her hair and work on the head a little but she won't look much different than she is now. The Salt Vampire from "Man Trap" I will be working to get updated images of my "Children of Oberon" posted as well as updated images of my version of The Land of Oz characters. I do hope to also be getting time to photograph my King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table customs I have been tinkering with as a follow up to my "Children of Oberon" set. I do have still in progress a couple of characters from the tv show "Once Upon A Time" but time is getting tight so may have to postpone again any advancement on those customs. I did squeeze in a custom for the current contest and have posted it in the thread but here he is on my thread. Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Will try to get more posted as soon as I can. Okay, I am submitting my entry for this contest. I wish I had some different parts to use but I worked with what I had. He as finished for about a week but have been having a hard time getting this image to upload to my photobucket at work so was a little delayed getting him posted. Here is my entry. Jake from Disney's Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I gave it my best with the details. I am not good at sculpting so I just used a vest part I had. I made a chest decal but the flesh tone on his chest was faded out with the flash on the camera which I thought was turned off and still kept flashing anyway. I used a sword that sort of looked like the one he has but like I said I am not good at sculpting at that scale. I hope you all like him. Thank you.

Ok, King Kobra shared the list and it has 10 names on it. So will there be five 2-packs in this set? Who will be packed with who? Who are the variants and how limited will they be? Why do we need two different Kraang Droids and a Kraang Foot Ninja? Where is Splinter in this wave?

I really like your Silverback, Jersey Devil and Gofish. Your work is always good and I always get some inspiration from you. I hope to one day next week post my updated customs and some new stuff. Can't wait for the next wave of Battle Beasts as I have a few ideas for parts from that wave. Again, Thank you for posting your work. Have a great day.

I realize that molds cost money and I am still a fan of the Cobra but it just caught me by surprise to see the rattler on the tail. I may break down and add to my order before they are released but I really like the Cobra, the new Bat and the Giraffe. I do like the the reuse of parts as in the Moose's foot parts on the Giraffe, Vorin's legs on the Cow, Merk's parts on Thrush. Even the feet on the Hammerhead are a reuse of the feet from one of the aliens in Halo. The Jackal's boots are a reuse of parts. I may try to make a Minotaur from the cow(bull-since it appears to be a male character). The bear is nice and so I may retire the custom bear I made or maybe repaint mine to be a panda or something different. I think the bear could be redone as a polar bear and still look good. Not sure what you can do to make something new from the hammerhead. Now I am thinking if we were to get a second wave that maybe we should get some felines. A lion, the cheetah, a tiger or a lynx. I would also like to see an Elephant and a Hippo also or a zebra.

I noticed that the Cobra has the Rattlesnake's tail including the Rattle. What is up with that? Couldn't they modify the mold to not have the rattle on the cobra? I still like the figure. I did order a second one so I can use his tail and swap it out with my custom Medusa mate I made.

As of last week, my local TRU only had a few Wolverine movie mates left as well as about ten Kingpin/Daredevil sets and about thirty SFxT sets. There are no Star Trek, no Walking Dead and no Halo mates. They still have some Marvel Wave 17 mates and they do have Wave 18 mates at the $3.98 price point. And for Tomb Raider all they have left is Lara/Scavenger Scout at full price. I did make it to the next closest TRU on Sunday and all they had was a few Tomb Raider sets, none of the exclusives, and they had a few of Marvel Wave 18 but that was it. They had nothing else in the way of minimates at that TRU. I am not sure if it is worth going to my local TRU tomorrow or not. I have all the Wave 18 Marvel mates I want. I am not sure what I would get if I went but I am also not sure what is due out anytime soon.

I like this set as I do not have any of the characters as they appear in this "Best Of" Wave. I have been kicking myself for passing on the Disney Set that had Hawkeye in it, because I was going more for the Movie look. But I am going get this wave. I think I have the Cpt. America in this wave already but I am happy to get more as I use them at work (since I work with the Army daily in my role at my local university). I never got "Spidey-sense" Spider-man so I am looking forward to it. As for Ant-Man, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Grey Hulk, and Luke Cage: I have never gotten any of them so I am happy to add this wave to my collection. I will likely get duplicates to have both Iron Fist versions and both Luke Cage versions (and Ant-man and Hulk). When is this wave supposed to be available? (I don't recall reading that anywhere.)

Where are the pictures shown?

I placed my order for a full set of the eight figures from Luke as well as an extra bat/cobra set and robin/jackal set. I like the nod to Batman and Robin but I really like the Robin as it looks like a great addition to the line. The Jackal (Anubis) looks like the poorest figure in the line-up but I love the head. I made an Anubis for a custom line I had worked on and I would like to see fi this figure will work in that line as well. The Cobra looks nice and I hope the tail is a little different from the Rattlesnake in more than the missing rattle-end. I like how the Giraffe has reused the leg parts from the Moose. The Bat looks like the previous Bat only themed off of Batman for coloring. I do with there was a Cheetah and when we do get that animal, how compatible would it be to make a hybrid with Cheetara for a female version? Can't wait for wave three. If there is a Wave Three, I would love to see a nod to Wonder Woman and Superman in the set. (just kidding, as not sure what critter would work for either of them.)

So I found out that my local TRU (Bloomington/Normal, IL) now gets their truck on Wednesdays. I got to TRU literally about 2 mins after they opened the door today. I rushed back to the Minimates area to find nothing new. I decided to walk down the Marvel aisle and found they had stocked more Marvel Minimates in that aisle. And they were still marked $3.98 each. They had apparently placed a case on a peg in this aisle but the Exclusive were gone already. I was a little disappointed because I think it was an employee who did it as they just go the case and stocked it this morning. I didn't see anyone else in the store except a set of grandparents who were looking for The LEGO Movie sets. Well, a wasted trip to TRU. I will see about next week.

Okay, I just got back from my local TRU (Bloomington/Normal, IL). They usually get their trucks on Thursdays. I am not sure if they actually got it today or what. I got to the store about five minutes prior to openning. I was the second customer in the store behind a lady who went to the baby section as I heaed directly for the action figures. I was sort of surprised to find Wave 18 but it had been picked over already. So apparently they get their truck earlier or something. Anyway, I was able to get me one Wolverine/Drone, one Shield Winter Soldier/Hydra Trooper, one Cap/Falcon and two Thor/Absorbing Man. They were each $3.98 and I left two Thor/Absorbing Man packs on the peg. I am going to try to call them later to find out when they get their truck for sure and then plan my trip for next week (weather permitting as we are in the middle of an new subzero polar bubble and it is awful.)

I plan to run to my local TRU (Bloomington/Normal, IL) on Thursday to see what is left and what may have come in. This store typically gets its trucks on Thursday and that is when I typically find new mates. Last Thursday I got Tomb Raider mates so I am hoping this Thursday that I may find Marvel TRU wave 18. Not sure how I will pay for my find but I will snag what I can. But at this point I am not sure I can get extras to ship but will see what I can do. Happy Hunting.

Macross....opinions are all that are being given here. I personally think we have enough TOS mates and that the other Treks need their due. I was only offering MY OPINION about waves that could be offered via specialty stores if TRU does not have Trek mates in the future. If TRU does offer mates then we could mix things up with TOS mates as well. I have customized as many of the crew members as I am capable for TNG, DS9 and VGER so if we never get official mates for them I am fine but I would always want official ones if I can get them. I think Mates could do fine without TOS crew member but Aliens would sell for sure. Again this is all merely free opinion and speculations. I would like to set the first officers of each series get a minimate version. I mean we got Seven of Nine merely because of the sex appeal and popularity of that character. Santos, I do like your idea for boxed sets but I am not sure about getting yet another Picard unless he was in the Rescue Uniform (all black when he was captured and tortured by Cardassians) or the way he appeared in the episode "Tapestry" which could have the parts to make him as both the fresh LT. and then as the science officer in a blue uniform. I think maybe their could just be specialty store/retailer boxed sets. 1) a variation of Picard, LaForge, Data & Troi 2) Kirk in environmental suit (maybe even a transparent version as he was phasing in and out of dimensions), Mirror Scotty, Uhura in gold uniform as seen in very early episodes of TOS (maybe 2 episodes) & a TOS Klingon other than Kor 3) Riker, Dr. Crusher, Worf (with parts for a DS9 uniform) & O'Brien (with parts for a DS9 uniform) 4) TOS Romulan, TNG Klingon maybe Gowron, An Andorian & a Bolian (or a set of four aliens which I think would sell decently) 5) Mirror McCoy, Dr. Boyd (from the original pilot of TOS), environmental suit Chekov & a generic TOS red shirt (with a second head and hair for army killing, I mean army building) 6) This should be a set of DS9 with maybe Jadzia, Bashir, Quark and Morn. 7) This could be a Mixed set with say Chakotay, T'Pol, Xindi-Primate & Kazon Again, this is just ideas of mates that have not been made or have no other version in minimate form. Kirk and Spock have been over done and so if they need to have TOS in them to sell, then focus on other main characters and aliens and let Kirk and Spock sit out a few.

Well, I would love a set of Ultron/Wolverine and Thor/Absorbing Man and even the Winter Soldier. I plan to get the Wave 54 from Luke so I will get everyone else. I have paypal and would love it if they were at the clearance price (and with the coupon if possible). Then I have to ask what happens after the Clearance Sale ends at TRU, will they go back to full price or remain at the lower price just not with a coupon since it expires tomorrow? Will all TRU's just ship out the remaining minimates that were on the Clearance sale? & if they ship them out where will they go?

Luke, I like the idea of you starting your own toy line, I will support you as I can but this type of figure is not in my realm, but I loved the Garbage Pail Kids. I love the ideas that have been coming in. I do like the Kid Kneestone name over the Kidney Stone name. However you have a large realm to go several waves as you can have two eye monsters and two ear monsters. Also you have all the germs and bacteria that live in the human body that could take form as well. I like the Toothfairy one, as you can have a tooth with a tootoo and wings but have a club or nasty weaopon of sorts and then have it wearing a patch over one of its eyes and maybe show it had a cavity at one time. I read Missle Toe and pictured a big toe with a missle launcher. I think you can have a successful run with this line. I may just have to break down and buy a set if they do come to reality because they are growing on me. Just remember that Garbage Pail Kids had two versions of the same image. Which is why you can do two eyes, two ears and so forth...... Good Luck
