Although I'm not picking up the Heroes set, it looks like a good way to get kids into 'mates. I'm definitely picking up the Villians set, though. Expeccially for the Dr. Doom, because I never got the original figure. The Green Goblin looks great, too.

I preordered these hoping the movie would be good, but I still haven't seen it and don't feel like I'm missing anything. I'd take a comic-based 4-pack over these any day. What you said. Slipknot minimates would rock! Hell, you could make 2 boxsets of them! Being as big a maggot as I am, I would KILL for those! They are the most visually interesting and you could come with interchangeable masks! THAT WOULD ROCK MY SOCKS!!!!

I don't know, but Madonna 'mates sounds like possibly the stupidest thing ever. Clint Eastwood definitely, but Maddona? MADONNA?! Who's gonna buy that? Waste of a 2-pack in my opinion...

Crap, I gotta get that Vision! I was gonna get it, but my overly-expensive comic book store had it for like 25 dollars! So I passed and got Havok and Polaris instead. Also, I didn't notice the Deadpools. I'm definitely getting the wave 27 figure, but I don't know about the wave 26 one. It doesn't really look like Deadpool to me. I think the main problem with 24 and Rocky was that it was all civillian characters. People want superheroes, not regular people. Expeccially with kids, what can you really do with a Jack Bauer figure? Spiderman and Wolverine can beat the crap out of each other, but a couple businessmen with guns can't do much. The problem with SF2 was too many variants of characters and not enough new characters. I don't really count Speed Racer as a line, since it only had 2 crappy figures. DC didn't have enough main characters and too many obscure characters. Star Trek just had too many Spocks and Kirks. How about some really crazy aliens? The only one I don't understand is BSG. This is kind of random, but what else do you collect besides minimates? I used to collect the little lego guys, but my minimates killed them all. Right now, I just collect minimates and Bionicles. (They keep the 'mates in line)

My first ones were the 3 inch Gorn and Mugatu, before I knew what minimates even were. I used to be a huge trekkie, but I kind of hated the figures. Gorn's leg fell of and Mugatu somehow always lost his hands. Like a year later, I went to TRU and got the 10 pack, and as they say, the rest is minimate-soaked history...
