  1. I participated in the promotion as well but haven't seen anything as of yet. Hopefully, we'll get something soon.
  2. Loving the BN Superman - just fantastic. BTW - Doom 2099 looks lonely and may require some other friends from that time period - say Venom 2099?
  3. I guess I was very fortunate this time around as both Dark Avengers sets came in one padded envelope but arrived in mint condition.
  4. Everyone stare at my sig line and everything will be ok I always do......
  5. Awesome swag there! I think I would kill for one of those He-Man art books (and the He-Man figure). Is the book as fantastic as I imagine it being?
  6. I think DST see's this as a way of getting a set out there that will drive the collector's into Toys R Us, whereas a wave of all Spidey/Wolverine/Iron Man may not have that affect. By the same token, the line would likely dwindle at a comic store as it would be tougher to sell as an individual set. As much as some people complain whenever there is a new Spider or Wolverine, their strategy seems to be paying off so far.
  7. One can only hope...... Although Doctor Who, shame that their isn't enough interest to produce those.....
  8. Back to the SDCC news - Marvel just announced that they acquired ! I wonder how long before DST makes a minimate.....
  9. If anyone could offer help with the SDCC Ghostbusters set and promo GB mate, I would greatly appreciate it!
  10. I tend to agree with this statement as well - look at how many stops we've all made to TRU since they started getting minimates, often looking for the "Exclusive" figures. Some of us wouldn't have gone out of our way to got to TRU before, so they've succeeded in attracting new customers while having product available for the non-collector customer. I'm not entirely convinced that we won't see Bullseye and Moonstone outside of the TRU release either. I think we need to remember the issues some of us had finding Union Jack/Wonderman and Stealth Iron Man/Tony Stark - and those turned out okay for most of us.
  11. Thanks for asking Lobsterman, glad to see that it's still at least being considered. Unfortunately, given the fact they can produce the Time Squad figures without licensing the MM design, I seriously doubt we'll ever see them. Who knows though, if the Godfather and Platoon mates can happen anything is a possibility. (This is not intended to be a rip on either of these properties - just a statement that these were "off the wall" mates that got or are being created)
  12. If the awesome green croc is indeed a Battle Beast, DST would have had to license these characters from someone. I'm guessing that Takara/Tomy owns the rights but this could be a Hasbro property within the US. If that's the case, could this be a "test" market that could lead to other properties being minimated (GI Joe, MASK, Transformers, etc)? **On a side note - could someone please remind the Underground Toys representative that the fans would really, really like Doctor Who mates?
  13. me too actually! haha, every time I go to walmart I see it and am like "..." *reaches for it* "..." *withdraws hand and leaves* three hours pass then it's "should I have gotten it...?" I seem to have the same reaction but I know that I already have MM Iron Fist and Black Costume Spidey sitting at home. But the other voice always questions, can you ever have too many black costume Spidey's? I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I'm resisting the temptation, doesn't mean I'll win just that I'm saving my funds for the time being.
  14. I don't think it's a bad thing, especially since it allows you to collect a variety of lines in the same format - Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, Toy Story and Indiana Jones. Very few other lines provide such an opportunity and I have quite a few of them intermingled throughout my collection. While I primarily have Spider-Man figures, I do pick them up on occasion and am currently debating picking up the Iron Fist/Spidey pack.
  15. Just because I want to help anyone getting out of mates, I'm willing to offer 1-3X the price listed above  In all honesty though, it's tougher to discern a price without knowing what you have. For example, Giant Size X-Men is fairly tough to find and valuable whereas a lot of Riot Attack Spider-Men will leave you looking to include them as throw-ins for other deals.
  16. Ohhh.....Black Knight and Alpha Flight - Seconded!!!!
  17. Dr. Manhattan and Hellboy look slick. Nice job man!
  18. Holy cow! Both of these waves look fantastic! I already know the following will be targeted to join my army of minimates: - Captain Britain - It's about time! - Black Bolt - Captain Marvel - Yellow Jacket - Kree - Cable - Extremis Iron Man I do have to admit that I'm surprised the 70's styled Captain Britain or Genis Captain Marvel weren't the variants here. Oh well, these look great!
  19. I seem to recall them saying that this set wouldn't be available for purchase at TRU until either the first day of SDCC or after SDCC. That might help explain why you can't pre-order the set right now.
  20. I'm absolutely digging that Batman/Joker set. That Batman would have been one of the slicker ones that they released.
  21. Happy birthday to both of you. Hope you both have a great one! On that note, any truth to the recently developed rumor that you're twins separated at birth?
  22. Noticed this today and thought some of our frequent posters would have an interest in this new 3" line of Futurama figures. Here's the link.
  23. If this is true (can anyone attest to it??) then Wave 3 SHOULD have been: 3x Wolverine/Sabretooth 3x Classic Iron Man/War Machine Mk I 3x Captain America/AIM Agent 2x Bullseye/Moonstone 1x Web Armor Spider-man/Venom MUCH better case ratio. WaW Spidey/Venom are already exclusive figures, and my TRU proved that no one likes them anymore, the others are popular enough to be 3x (with AIM 'cause army-building rocks), and this way BE/MS aren't variants, are more accessible, and aren't a scalper's heaven. Actually, I think they have followed the same pattern, with 3 of each of the non-stickered mates per case with a 2/1 ratio for the mates that receive the TRU Silver Sticker. For wave one, this worked out to two Hulk/Abomination packs and one Stealth Iron Man/Gauntlet Tony Stark set. For wave two, it was two Union Jack/Wonder Man sets to every one Punisher/Jigsaw set. For wave three, it would be two Captain America/AIM sets to every one Bullseye/Moonstone set. As a result, the only sets that are really affected are the stickered TRU sets, even though the majority of the case packs have been "exclusive" to TRU by the different pairings these figures have been given. Case in point, in the comic packs the AIM figure is packed with Iron Man, but in the TRU set they're packed in with Cap. As a result, I don't think the ration has changed - this has just turned out to be one of the more popular waves and variants to track down.
  24. Sadly I work at a TRU and most of the other stores I call to make sure they have stock or to do a transfer, they have no idea what I am talking about. Waitaminute.......so you're saying that you should be everyone's TRU plant with information and the hook up for all our future TRU MM wants?
