  1. Sadly BHM is right--TRU is a mess, and has been for several years. But I'm sure it's such a small fish in TRU's pond that they're never going to give these figures any dedicated attention to resolving these kinds of problems. I guess I'm fortunate that I don't care all that much about anything that has been genuinely TRU exclusive in a long time (last 2-pack may have been the Bullseye/Moonstone pack!). I'm all for more packaging variants like the Aliens line.
  2. I got mine the little plush dolls from Walgreens. They are nice quality, and price isn't too bad. The only plastic one they have is Princess Celestia, since they didn't make a doll version. And I think a keychain of Fluttershy somewhere. . .
  3. I don't know, I suspect kids will be in the minority there. In terms of 40-year-old men, however, I don't think you'll be out of place. . . .I watched this damn show yesterday. I've actually found myself pushing for it, because if not, my daughter wants to watch crappier cartoons like Strawberry Shortcake or Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I'm trying to get them into She-Ra, Duck Tales and Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, with mixed success
  4. Looks great. Will see the movie in a couple of weeks when I get some vacation time. Might have to go for it.
  5. We've gone way too long without Vision Quest Minimates.
  6. Yes, I would be interested to see a storyline with Apocalypse ending in a dance-off. I have never cared for the design choices in these films, and have bristled at some of the reimaginings of characters in terms of personality/behavior. But that's not very different from what Marvel Studios have done IMO, with characters like Tony Stark, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Quicksilver, Falcon, etc. Sometimes it's an improvement in my eyes, sometimes it isn't. But on balance, I like what both studios are doing, and appreciate that due to its being at Fox, X-Men can get a lot more dedicated attention than would be the case if they were competing with 10 other franchises for a release at Marvel Studios.
  7. Justin, the Squirrel Girl thread is over here: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=13396
  8. Too bad they're about $36 more expensive than they should be.
  9. That's a common reaction. He does look a bit comical. Hopefully they use some CG to make him a bit more imposing. But he's just so short! I've become less interested in the character designs as comic movies have evolved over time, but still. . .an intimidating look is one of Apoc's big things.
  10. I had that Robot Masters of the Universe guy. Was very cool how the gears moved when you rotated him around.
  11. Wouldn't shock me if some people thought they had every one, only to be missing this: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=151&n=Iron+Man
  12. Not bad! But more squirrel than girl, IMO.
  13. I'm more excited for this than Batman V. Superman.
  14. Wait, is Lego Marvel Ass a game, toy, or freaky porno?
  15. *hurls offensive insults at Tenime contradicting his point in order to instigate a flamewar* Sort of, via the affiliate links (that I always use, and would encourage others to, as well).
  16. Pass. . .shoulda been Nighthawk. That's what all the kids want!
  17. I don't think Snyder's trying to make some greater political statement, or even thinks very carefully about the undertones and implications for what he's doing. Maybe that's a bad thing, but I don't blame the guy for being what he is--a pretty literal thinker who likes to make "awesome" stuff happen in movies.
  18. Well this is the only one where I've got some real expectations, but I think they are rational expectations. This isn't the first rodeo for these guys in this kind of story. But Ayer hasn't handled this kind of material before, and we're seeing a gamble with Joker and Harley. Snyder failed in his first attempt, but has some more accomplished talent around him in the writer from Argo and Affleck probably co-directing his own scenes. And Deadpool--??? Those could all go either way. But it's not like it matters anyway. Try though we may, we can't force ourselves to manage expectations. Any movie we'll see will be critiqued through one lens or another, based on expectations of what it should and shouldn't be.
  19. I've definitely got moderately high expectations. Singer at the helm, the core cast from DOFP and First Class--both excellent comic book movies. I'll be disappointed if this is not very good.
