  1. Congrats, BS! Another example of good karma finding it's way back toward boardies.
  2. I still don't care for the Doom origin there, I don't understand what Galactus is doing, and the ending appears a bit anti-climactic. But, I haven't read the full leaked script. Maybe pacing, acting, and good direction could make all of that work. But certainly, injecting some straight-ahead action into the movie, and taking itself less seriously would probably be beneficial (this coming from a guy who hasn't seen the Trank one, and probably won't for a very long time).
  3. One of the Red Letter Media guys seems to like it, and a number of people have commented that the first half is OK, if not great.
  4. I'm still waiting for the Pokemon license.
  5. No one told me life was gonna be this way. . .
  6. Damn, that's pretty awesome. Michael Bay would be proud.
  7. That scene with the massacre of Prowl, Brawn, Ironhide, etc. on the ship was one of the most brutal scenes I saw as a kid--in a cartoon or anywhere else. "Such heroic nonsense." Hard-core.
  8. Yeah, I assumed you meant the animated one homestar, then you talk about him getting an arm ripped off and Bumblebee getting ripped in half. . .I don't remember those scenes in the animated films It's only permissible to cry during the Bay films out of despair for how terribly he's treated this once proud franchise.
  9. Is it bad if I cried when Optimus died? (Totes serious.) PS - For the record, I hate chick flicks & the bf is glad. If you didn't cry at Optimus's death, then you have a problem.
  10. Well, Metacritic, which gives you a score more approximating how good a film is, rather than the percentage of critics who liked it, has it slightly higher than Pixels and Catwoman at this point, but not by much.
  11. Hmm, top 5 from Marvel Studios? 1) Winter Soldier 2) Iron Man 3) Ant-Man 4) Guardians of the Galaxy 5) Thor 2: the Revenge If we're talking top 5 Marvel generally, the top 3 spots would all be X-films.
  12. Agreed. If you can't do a story about a superhero family, that is fun and exciting, then that's on the writer.
  13. I also think Falcon had to be referring to Scott, because otherwise the tag "Ant-Man will return" appearing right after the scene doesn't make as much sense. Though I'm not sure exactly what he was hoping to use Scott for. Something involving his shrinking powers, of course. By the way, saw this last week and enjoyed the heck out of it. More than Avengers 2.
  14. Yeah, I remember also being awed by this: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/pack.php?i=33&n=Assault+Punisher++Blade
  15. Thing was, the DC 'Mates were a step above the Marvel ones in terms of quality at the time, and even design somehow! I remember seeing the wave 12 and 13 Marvel ones on sale at the same time as wave 1 of DC (because this is when I first got into Minimates). There is simply no comparison between something like this: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=90&n=Wolverine or, God bless him, this: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=78&n=Riot+Attack+Spider-Man and these bad boys: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=261&n=Superman http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=263&n=Green+Lantern+Hal+Jordan So, I think the $2 premium was well justified!
  16. I didn't realize that Ant-Man had a young Michael Douglas head underneath. Swell!
  17. Sucks, but again, not a great surprise, sadly.
