  1. **SPOILER??** I don't know if this has been mentioned, but it kinda dribbled out over at thefwoosh during a discussion about the Wrecking Crew (a hot topic as you know). Fella with the handle of "MSWord" said, "we'll see how the Wrecker does in the upcoming poll." **/SPOILER??**
  2. Yes, apologies... got a little "wishlisty" there.
  3. This is all really good stuff... really good stuff indeed... Love the choices. I'm personally advocating for the Iron Men, but it would be fun to see most of these.
  4. Yeah it should be two 2-packs... 1. Sasquatch - Shaman - Aurora - Puck 2. Guardian - Marrina - Northstar - Snowbird Boom. Original team done. I'd also like to eventually see Original Box and Talisman, or Shaman's 2.0 costume.
  5. Yeah Zach, for you to read and pass on to everyone involved at DST... that Daredevil is the best. One of my favorite Minimates, ever. I will also second any previous sentiments to seed SHIELD agents into the line wherever possible... The adoption of army builders has been an inspired decision since its inception, but there are a few core soldiers that merit repeated releases, primarily Hydra, AIM, and SHIELD. These guys are all core to the Marvel experience. I really think DST should consider one box set with a high piece count, including the three most popular army builders. Make the pieces allow some customization that wasn't previously possible, making the set unique and desirable. And maybe one of the four "armies" would be one that hadn't yet been released, offering some newness too. Something like Hydra-AIM-SHEILD and [Dire Wraith/Ultimatum Soldier/Mandroid/Sons of the Serpent/Reaver/Moloid/Nameless One/etc.]
  6. For the boxed set, WCA would be pretty sweet, with that WCA Hawkeye (full sleeves, dark blue), Tigra, Mockingbird, and WCA Wonder Man. But about the Wave 50 poll... if you see the "Characters in this Story" sidebar to the right, assuming this is relevant to the posting, it would suggest that the primary characters we'll be choosing from include Cap, Ghost Rider, Thing, Iron Man, and Wolverine. This wouldn't be the Wave 2 (supporting) or 3 ("targets"/villains) but probably the first round of voting.
  7. I support an all-villains wave, to make up for the relative scarcity of them in the first 49 waves. Pack 1: X-Men Villains Pyro + Blob Pack 2: Fantastic Four Villains Blastaar + Annihilus Pack 3: Avengers Villains Zemo + Mandroid variant Zemo II + Mandroid TRU Supplemental 2-Packs: Diablo + Dragon Man Whirlwind + Man-Ape Destiny + Avalanche Supplemental Box Set: "Sinister Syndicate" Beetle Boomerang Speed Demon Hydro-Man [a "2.0" version with water base]
  8. I'd want a BEM as follows, b/c Destiny would be a hard sell otherwise: Avalanche Pyro Blob Destiny Masters of Evil: Radioactive Man Whirlwind Crimson Cowl Melter Sinister Syndicate: Beetle Speed Demon Boomerang Hydro-Man An "I Heart Daredevil" box: Daredevil (Wally Wood) Jester Mr. Fear Gladiator
  9. Well he ain't obscure, but I think it might be time for ZEMO. He's one of the three remaining Mattel Secret Wars characters (if you include Constrictor, which I do). He's purple-ish. He's a villain of some renown. Have Zemo II and his pop be variants with a MANDROID army builder in a future wave and let the awesomeness permeate your blood-brain barrier.
  10. You guys totally had this theme in hand, waiting for this moment didn't you? It's a good look...
  11. @Valo: TOTALLY agree - the BEM is missing some pretty colorful characters in Pyro, Blob, Avalanche, & Destiny. And though I'm in the minority on this, I'd like to see that goofy Arcade show up too...
  12. So many I'd want! Very hard to narrow it down to just one wave... I'd have to ditch the army builder and go with: DD Wally Wood style / Mr. Hyde DD (damaged? yellow?) / The Owl Purple Man / Gladiator Mr. Fear / Jester ..and if we're going for 8 uniques instead of variants or army builders, you could replace the Yellow DD slot with any of the other significant characters: Typhoid Mary, Nuke, Leap Frog, etc. But the list above would knock out the main DD villains I'd want.
  13. I didn't see any thread listed to discuss this, but please feel free to issue harsh reprimands and/or cast aspersions upon my intelligence if this is being discussed elsewhere. I'm digging the X-Focus of W47, and can't wait to pose "Fastball Special Colossus" with the new Brown Wolverine. Brood army builder's a highlight too. Thoughts about the awesomeness of this wave?
  14. As much as I would have rather seen Falcon or Black Knight in the Pym spots here, my relationship to this line is different than others, because I know of no other line aside from Bowen Busts or Heroclix that is so clearly committed to bringing obscure characters and fan-favorites to market. ...whereas with a line like Legends it feels so much more finite, and each wave that doesn't contain a favorite character wracks the nerves as the potential end of the line is always around the corner, and there are only so many releases that can be packed into a year. MiniMates is clearly very healthy, boasts tons of releases a year, and despite the requisite flood of anchor character variants, always manages to spread the love around classic, modern and cinematic origins.
  15. Yeah I was bummed when Hsien-Ko didn't make the W3 lineups. Really hoping DST closes the loop here.
  16. Makes sense... For the record I'd like to see more Street Fighter MiniMates for sure, and the Capcom fighting game geek in me would love to see Warzard/Red Earth characters as well, because there is something wrong with me. But for this license (which DST has stated is MvC3-specific), where almost every character is getting made, the only Marvel replacement option for MODOK would have been Shuma Gorath (or Galactus I guess), which I suppose given your logic you would have preferred due to his previous appearances in fighting games. I would still like to see Shuma Gorath. Seems like that one and Tron Bonne might have been too challenging from a design perspective, thus their omission. But who knows... wasn't there some casual mention at some point about a possible fourth wave? Characters left: Marvel: Shuma Gorath, Galactus Capcom: Tron Bonne, Hsien-Ko +some core character costume variants?
  17. Really? You think MODOK is a waste of space when he is the only Marvel character in Wave 3 to never have a MiniMate yet? Totally respect your opinion, just surprised to hear that feedback. My feedback about MODOK: great choice, but he never smiles in the comics as far as I know... I'm more used to seeing him grim and creepy. I guess the grinning figure and his appearance in the game are more about celebrating his current popularity as a "what were they thinking?"/retro/ironic appreciation thing given that he's a big weird head with dangling baby limbs. On a creepy/weird character tangent, Arnim Zola seems to be riding a similar wave... his sortof-appearance in the Cap film has presumably fueled his "toy onslaught" with the recently announced Bowen bust, MiniMate, and upcoming Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure.
  18. So I'm still unclear on the Wave 3 split between LCS and TRU assortments. We know so far: Marvel: Cap, Thor, She-Hulk, MODOK, Doom, X-23 Capcom: Felicia, Chun-Li, Wesker, ?, ?, ? Who are the other Capcommers? And which of the Marvels will be LCS vs TRU? I think we can assume Cap and Thor will be in both assortments as "anchors" (maybe?).
  19. Wave 44 Guesses? Fun. "Avengers Movie" waves 1 & 2 will be 44-45, followed by "Amazing Spider-Man Movie" W46: AVG: Cap/Widow Hawkeye/Thor1 Iron Man/SHIELD Iron Man variant/SHIELD Loki/Thor2 sleeveless Cap Dmg/Hulk Maria Hill/
  20. Murderface is my favorite Dethklok.
  21. YES. We need all four of those Secret Wars characters. Fun Fact: Falcon is the last Marvel Mego to be made as a mate (excluding Conan, who is no longer published by Marvel), and also the last ToyBiz Famous Covers (Mego retro) character to be made now that Aunt May is coming in W43. I'm holding out hope that Wave 44 will be non-movie, coming out before the big summer blitz for Avengers and Spider-Man. Maybe Iron Man (cuz they always need an anchor)/Constrictor, Kang/Black Knight, and Classic Falcon / Mandroid army builder, with a FA or modern Falcon variant. ...and because no one asked: I'm with the Kang crew, I think he's essential and want the MiniMate. But I think once Kang is made, NewKang for me will be Grim Reaper, who has somehow eluded being made as a toy for decades. I really hope that DST is able to work in some comic-based Avengers mates into the 2012 lineup, and that that lineup includes a certain scythe-handed lunatic with headgear that rivals Galactus' space-antlers.
  22. @ buttheadsmate: I laughed. The unsurprising yet encouraging implication here is that TRU waves with exclusives will continue in 2012. Awesome. More chances to get cool weird mates like Lockjaw and Warlock. Warlockjaw.
  23. I think this is pretty cool. I would like to see a "regular" Champion at some point, but this is a fun set. And I have fiendish plans for at least one of those pony tail pieces.
  24. There's no guarantee that DST would do more MVC3 just for the Ultimate edition. But if they do... Please take note DST! Doc Ock with arms like S8 Reed Richards! Long and bendy! [that's what she said]
  25. It could also be a SF1 deco for Ryu.
