  1. Good god, what have they done to Dr. Nemesis!? His regular costume was perfect for the character, this new garbage is the biggest '90s fail I've seen since the actual '90s. He's currently on my wish list in the thread, but if DST made a mate of him in this costume I'd be even more annoyed than I was with X-Force Fantomex.
  2. Madame Masque and Enchantress would be the biggies for me, and a great Mystique or Black Cat redo would be cool. White Rabbit would be amazing but never happen. Maybe they could shoehorn Hellcat in there? I know she's not a villain, but she can be quite snippy.
  3. "Does Spidey even have any female villains" for a "Femme Fatales" box set? Does he ever! Seriously though, there's White Rabbit, Shriek, Kraven's pyscho daughter, Paper Doll, uh, Screwball I guess, Black Cat and Silver Sable sort of... that's kind of not bad... ish.
  4. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch this neutered half-season of Community ... I'm looking forward to Walking Dead, Fringe, Good Wife and... um... hmm. I don't know what happened, I used to watch so much TV! I'm with Punisher on the new shows this fall, they all look pretty boring.
  5. I liked last season but it was a bit gloomy, and this episode seemed more fun like the first Moffat season. Hope they can keep it up! Also happy there's no broadcast delay here this year, so I don't have to avoid spoilers online.
  6. They're not on the Diamond shiplist for next week.
  7. They could use the book's inherent workaround for Minimates, and make And Dragon Man would need to come with his glasses...
  8. Last shipping estimate was October 3rd I think...
  9. Only three this year, but at this point I'll take what I can get! New list: 1. Hellcat 2. Wolfsbane ('90s blue/yellow leotard) 3. Rescue 4. modern Luke Cage redo (no beanie!) 5. Mockingbird (modern or classic, preferably both!) 6. Dr. Nemesis 7. Commander Steve Rogers 8. modern Rogue 9. Man-Thing 10. Squirrel Girl Wolvie: Weapon X with helmet/wires Spidey: bulletproof Big Time costume Iron Man: current armor or 2020 Army builder: Warwolves
  10. That's true, but wasn't most of that him and Quesada fighting over Spider-Man and Thor four or five years ago? Quesada hasn't been editor-in-chief for a year or two now, he's off doing all that movie/tv stuff, and JMS even came back to finally finish that Twelve mini a while back. I just don't see any indication of the same crap going on at Marvel as is apparently going on at DC right now -- don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's plenty of other crap at Marvel, but not on the level that it's driving creators out the door angry enough to make public statements against a major employer. But your mileage clearly does vary and that's fine
  11. Anyone managed to get the wrist spike things off Spidey? Tried freezing and hot water on mine, can't get 'em to budge.
  12. Well, kind of, yeah? I mean the X-books have been slowly building to the Phoenix's return since they introduced Hope years ago, and the Avengers/X-Men antagonism has been built up bit by bit since Wanda, and Scott starting his own nation, etc. I think it's much more likely Bendis or Aaron or one of those other guys on your list pitched it at their story-planning retreat thing, than some mouse exec pronounced it from on high. The most I could see them saying is "have the Avengers in your event this year." As for the rest, I'm just saying I've seen no big evidence of Marvel's editorial screwing over creative lately -- ie. no writers jumping ship and publically trashing Marvel, and no obvious fiddling (big changes in direction coming out of left field, etc) in the stories themselves, quite the opposite. Even with dismissing Marvel's list of "worthy" I mean, I'm not sure what the DC equivalent would be, just Morrison and Johns? Also I'd think the shift to creator-owned books has to be driven by Kirkman making a bazillion dollars off one of his as much as anything.
  13. Well both Julie and Alex are currently regulars in different Marvel books (Avengers Academy and FF respectively), and they're pretty much adult-size at this point, so I could see them working as mates, although I guess they'd be unlikely. The classic team would look a bit weird though, as you mention -- my Thunderkittens are going to be displayed seperately from the rest of the T-Cats, so they don't look all gigantic. I think I would've preferred them as sculpted Snarf-cessories. I like those Gurihiru Power Pack comics too, fun little stories.
  14. Don't follow the industry stuff that closely but I'm vaguely aware of the DC thing, Liefeld's not the only one who's quit lately I gather -- but what Marvel news are you talking about? Other than shoving movie Nick Fury into continuity, changing Hawkeye's costume and starting that crappy 'movie team' Avengers comic, I haven't noticed any books that feel particularly mandated or "fiddled with" by editorial. Most of the titles I've read lately have had creative-led, long-running storylines, ie. Fraction's Iron Man, Remender's X-Force and Venom, Slott's Spidey stuff, Waid's Daredevil, Hickman's F4/FF stuff, Aaron's X-stuff, Gage's Avengers Academy, etc etc. And of course letting Bendis do whatever he wants with Avengers and Ultimate Spidey (even the reboot of that was actually Bendis' idea, though editorial got blamed for it). I know many of those titles and runs are wrapping up for this soft reboot thing, but most of the creators seem to be staying at Marvel. Whatever's going on at DC, Animal Man and Wonder Woman seem to have been spared thankfully, still really enjoying both. Supergirl and Superboy both went all to hell after the first arc though. Action Comics is alright, but I expected more after All-Star was so good.
  15. I really like that Vorin armor if that's the final colour, really makes it pop. Merk and the snake I'll probably try to grab the TRU versions if they're going to be significantly brighter. They might've even gotten me to buy the human if they'd done a more obvious likeness of Zooey Deschanel like the comic Was never really into the creepy-crawly beasts so those are a pass for me, but I'm sure there'll be lots more birds/mammals/etc down the road.
  16. How come? For me Lego's latest take on the minifigs has really shown the characters and costumes can all look great and recognizable, even when simplified way beyond the Minimate level. I guess R2 or ewoks would be tricky, but they could always do a Snarf-style workaround. Original trilogy Star Wars is my dream line though, so I'm definitely biased in their favor
  17. I'd hope that if Affleck was given a massive project like Justice League he'd stay behind the camera so he could focus on directing the thing. I really can't picture him running around in a Batman suit while there's all the big effects shots, huge crew and an ensemble cast to keep track of. Gone Baby Gone was a really great movie, I wish he'd stick to writing and directing full-time.
  18. I don't know if I can stay on Iron Man after Fraction leaves the book anyway, Gillen's a great writer sometimes but Greg Land's creepy porn-tracing is more offputting than even the worst Liefeld art to me. I'm with TBT on that current armor making for a great mate though, and a Rescue too please DST
  19. Yeah, that Captain Britain mate's a weird one for sure. I think partly just because his face is drawn so small. His mask's a bit more helmet-y though, too, and with any mask that shows part of the face, like on him or Captain America, it definitely looks better with a slip-on. I think the upcoming Havok looks much improved for the same reason. The only time I hate slip-ons is when they're used for a full-face mask that's supposed to be skin-tight fabric -- so mostly just on Spider-Man (with rare others like Flash Venom or Bleeding Edge Iron Man). Slip-ons just make Spidey's head look huge. Having said that there are exceptions to the rule, like the first Deadpool, who I think is saved from looking like a lollipop because of all the gear "widening" his body.
  20. Not that I know of. Have we ever done that? Best Of Spidey has a head block mask with an alternate Peter head block. With more alt head blocks showing up lately (Beardy Thor, Green Goblin, Sin Eater, etc) I was kind of hoping it was the start of a new trend... Except those are all masked head blocks vs. unmasked head blocks, or multiple unmasked blocks. Not a masked head AND a masked head block. Yes I know, but I thought Storm was asking if it had been changed to an alternate head block mask instead of a slip-on mask, though I guess he might have meant both. Zach, are slip-on masks cheaper to produce than a second head block, or is it a purely aesthetic choice by the designers which way to go?
  21. I hardly ever buy superhero stuff this scale, but both those Batmen are pretty tempting. Big chunks of Morrison's run have left me cold, but crazy purple Batman with a baseball bat was an awesome issue. And I hope we see an accompanying DKR Robin down the line...
  22. Not that I know of. Have we ever done that? Best Of Spidey has a head block mask with an alternate Peter head block. With more alt head blocks showing up lately (Beardy Thor, Green Goblin, Sin Eater, etc) I was kind of hoping it was the start of a new trend...
  23. They'd actually already changed them a bit back when Johnny returned, but not being "up to date" doesn't really bother me at all with mates, I mean many of the alt-costumes released are already years/decades out of date when we get them. I'd still love a Commander Rogers or FF Doom, even if they are so totally last year
