Has anyone found these in a Five Below store? If so, where in the store were they stocked? I was in one yesterday, and the store was trashed, stuff everywhere. I'd like to pick up some stocking stuffers, but hate to pay $4 per at Toys R Us. Thanks!

Found these in central VA today while out looking for Monster High dolls... I didn't know these packs were due, and was extremely happy to find them! Based on the case ratio mentioned above, they must have put out 2 cases, since there were 3 Cannonball packs on the pegs. Surprisingly, though, there was only 1 Wolverine pack... maybe he IS the number one seller. Anyway, despite issues with he hands and feet falling right off, I like these a lot. Now I'll just need to get extra New Mutant sets to start rounding out the team.

A box from Santa was waiting for me when I got home last night! Santa sent me a couple of Pharoah's Quest Lego sets, and these are GREAT! My kids and I put them together, and we have a couple of desert explorers and evil mummies joining the Christmas countdown calendar display. Thanks, Santa... whoever you are...

What I would recommend is to fill in the t-shirt/chest area with a black sharpie, make it look like a black undershirt. I thing the difference in shade between the arms and head will be much less noticeable than the difference between the head and chest.

The only problem would be the army builder... who would work for that role? Otherwise, I would gladly be on board with: Hyperion/Power Princess Black Arrow/Lady Lark Nighthawk/Dr Spectrum Variant Nighthawk (Defenders)/Nuke ... though I feel bad about leaving out the Whizzer...

Maybe these will be more exciting in execution than they are in name. Or maybe there are still too many icons missing from the overall line-up. Whatever, this set doesn't really appeal to me. Thanks to Luke, we've got all the ninjas we need. Inhumans, Wrecking Crew, Masters of Evil, Negative Zone characters, Brotherhood of Mutants (old and new), heralds of Galactus, heck, I'd rather have the international characters introduced in the Contest of Champions (Shamrock, Blitzkrieg, Peregrine... with Collective Man army builder!). I don't know anything about "Shadowland", but I've read enough comics to know that whatever the BIG thing is now tends to get reset and/or negated 2 years down the road.

But speaking of Banshee... why HAVEN'T we gotten tim yet?? At this point, all the pieces are made (Photon's cape, Star Sapphire's collar)....this one seems ideal for a TRU wave: fan favorite, no new parts!

Pretty sure we've seen it used for Wasp . . . not sure who else though. I'd have to dig it out to be sure, but wasn't it also used for one of the 24 box set 1 minimates?

Thanks for that info, Luke. I had considered ordering extras from the site, as the ones around me have all been picked over. The extra pieces are great to get. Having purchased one set, plus 1 extra of each of the police/ops set, I was easily able to use parts from the fodder-box to turn 16 figures into 26. The biggest deterrent to using non-caucasian parts comes from where the neck is painted caucasian. I found, though, that Captain Sisko's head (bald, goatee) looks good on the special ops mate.

My local stores just got these in a few days ago, and they're great! I haven't had a chance to fill out the ranks from my extras box, but I'm hoping the BSG dress uniform blue is a pretty close match for the officers. I don't recall... are we going to see some ambulance/EMT folks as well?

SF mates? at Five Below? did I miss a memo?

I went through the "purge" process about 10 years ago with my Marvel ToyBiz collection, and it wasn't tough at the time (had my second kid on the way... you think shipping from AFX gets pricey?). I even sold customs that at the time I didn't think I'd ever miss. Now, going through boxes of leftovers, deciding what to keep or just toss, I feel a bit of regret. I'm not a completionist on the mates (have no desire for the Battle Beasts), but do like the Marvel, BSG, Trek, GB, even the universal monsters (and WHY doesn't the New Mutants Rahne come with werewolf feet??) I guess I don't want to consider there may come a day where I look at the mates and think "why did I ever spend my money on this?" But that day is not today.

I'm feeling it, too. I've never collected a lot of lines at any one time, but when I have, I'm comitted (or should be!)... I still treasure my World of Springfield collection, though don't have room to display them as I'd like. I love all the minimates coming out, but keeping up is becoming financially intimidating. And that's to just get ONE of any given pack or set... and you gotta get two new mutants at a minimum, multiples of the TRU sets to keep for potential trades, plus the odd set when you encounter breakage or other quality control issues. And you may never know what MAY be the pack/set that's available today, but gone the way of Angel/Warpath by tomorrow. It's a lot to keep up with if you want to keep up.

One thing I started doing earlier this year was to keep a spreadsheet listing my purchases so I could get an idea of exactly how much I was buying. Unfortunately, I got lazy mid-year and stopped, but I really need to get a better handle on what I buy. Maybe the hike will impact my purchases, but if it does at all, I'll likely stop buying extra packs for possible customizing and trade.

I've been giving ROM a lot of thought... yeah, I know they can't do this one (or Starshine, or Firefall with reversible head - one side Karas, one side Archie Stryker), and I don't want to turn this to a customizing thread, but has anyone seen anything out there that would reasonable pass for a Nuetralizer? Just.... wondering....

Don't forget the belt and boots, though. My plan was (is?) to use the cuffed boots, paint them tan, and use a repainted Black Widow belt (in stunning turquoise) for her unique Native American look.

Was thinking along the same lines, but using Valkyrie hair if I could get ahold of an extra.

As an unemployed hotcakes salesman, I hope these do better than that! I went ahead and took the online route, and was able to get the free shipping, which made the deal even sweeter, not having to stress about in-store availability and driving around. Now, if I see them in the store, I may get some extras, but don't have that feeling of urgency I usually have on TRU exclusives.

seems like just another bundle of non-information... we're always open to considering the possibility of, one day, maybe, under the right conditions, making one or two out of the hundreds of unmade characters the collectors want... but until that time, how about that new Ghostbuster's pack?? Huh? Huh? In this one, Slimer's nose is smaller!

I think this is a perfect opportunity to reset the case ratios... folks will want the fantastic FOUR, not fantastic THREE and possible guest. Since the team is spread out over 3 packs, make them all in equal numbers, and since you have 3 spots left, lets just put 3 of that pack nobody will want in there as well. Who in their right mind want want even ONE Namor/Atl Soldier? Kids like the Thing and Human Torch! Let's make the ration 5-3-3-1! Aaaargh! Gotta go get my coffee....

Was anything asked/mentioned about the MAX line with the SWAT and Firefighters? Or the Father's Day stuff? I was one of those misguided fools who was with his "other" family last night.
