Chazwinski
Since I bought Jabba's sail barge a while back, I was excited that they were updating his palace. I found the new one today, and although I have buyer's remorse because of all the minimates, Marvel Universe, and regular Star Wars coming out soon... I just couldn't resist. Here are some pics:
Hawkeye's Junk
That's awesome. How big is it?
karamazov80
I've actually got Kubricks for most of those guys. Should set up a diorama one of these days.
TM2 Dinobot
I have the old school one. Not sure if I want to upgrade.
jcastick
I like the new Carbonite solo.
Chazwinski
@ Hawkeye's Junk: I'm at work now, so I can't check, but I think it's around 770 pieces.
MiniFiend UK
Just looking at those pics makes me think of the lego game cut scenes.
battlecat
Picked this up the other day too, only other set I've bought was the X-Wing a couple years ago but this thing was just too fun to pass up, even with Lego pricing going a bit crazy this year. Also grabbed the little desert skiff set so I could fill up the throne room a bit more, with Lando, Fett, etc.
gambitron
I wanted this set so bad and sold my old Jabba's Palace set in anticipation of this set. Then when I saw its price point compared to other sets with about the same amount of pieces I couldn't bring myself to buy it. So I went online and bought the Salacious Crumb minifigure because that was the part that I absolutely had to have! They showed pics at SDCC of the Rancor pit set coming out and it looks awesome but Legos just wipe out my funds to fast so I had to exert self control and not buy this one! Twisted Two-Face
Really want this and the Rancor Pit, but man i cannot justify the price. I bought the Vampyre Castle and that thing retails much cheaper and is just SO much bigger. Really feel like the could have done more with this if that was to be the pricepoint. That said, it does look really fantastic and if i can find it on a sale i'll pick it up. Love the Palace scenes too much to not buy it eventually. I hope the tower can stay on fairly well when the Pit is placed underneath the throne room....
gambitron
I ended up getting this set today because Shopko had it on sale for 89.99 and a coupon for 10$ off so I could justify the 80$ as opposed to 120$. Already put it together and am completely satisfied with it! Can't wait for the Rancor set.
gambitron
I picked up the Rancor pit set today from Walmart and I am so happy that they made this set to work with the Jabba's Palace! The Rancor is such a great addition to SW Legos.
Ninja Mate
Wow. That's one of the best lego sets I have ever seen. And we have A Lot of Legos at our house.
MisterPL
Check this out. I guess LEGO can't offer Jabba's Palace sets anymore. Or Jabba himself because he looks like a "terrorist." Or round buildings for that matter. The good news is that in recognizing a movie that came out in 1983, these religious extremists have finally moved into the 20th century, which is a huge leap forward for them. youbastards
Yeah, I saw that too. The best part is Lego's formal response was "we will cease production and stop selling it by the first of the year" which is when they ALREADY retire old items/lines and introduce new items/lines!!! So their formal response was just a polite way of telling them to &*%@ off and defusing the situation while making the idiots think they got a 'win'! "Machine guns on the tower", have these clowns ever seen the movies the product represents?
MisterPL
LEGO should just say "Thanks for the guaranteed sell though. We sincerely hope you find offense in many of our other products."
TM2 Dinobot
I'm not sure as that story broke yesterday. And it's the internet... :/
youbastards
It was all over the news outlets I check (both American and British) yesterday, so if it was an April Fool's joke, it was one of the most prolific jokes ever pulled!
TM2 Dinobot
It just seems SO ridiculous. It's based on a 30 year old movie, and Muslims are only just now noticing it and becoming offended? What, do they not have televisions in that part of the world?
highassroller
Silly and Stupid pandering to extremist, now I'm definitely gonna buy this set today. Already have all the lego Starwars figures, but was holding out on Jabba and Rancor sets until I found them loose on ebay, but I gotta say that Lego keeps it classy. TENIME_art
I got it. And the Rancor Pit. The way the tower connectors are designed, it holds really well, actually. I was concerned/surprised myself. I want the Skiff/Sarlacc set now. And Jabba's Sail Barge. Is that out yet? I heard it was going to be huge (and expensive )... I still need to win a small lottery (or a big lottery, that works, too) or start dating a rich girl, because, GDit, I want that Death Star. gambitron
The Death Star is the one big hole in my OT Lego collection
TM2 Dinobot
While I was working in TRU over Christmas, I found a Death Star that someone had returned. I love how every 'scene' inside is from ANH, but the design is purely RotJ.
TENIME_art
Not every scene: ESB Vader's chamber & RotJ duel in the Emperor's throne room.
TM2 Dinobot
But... Vader's chamber was on the Executor... And some how I remembered the throne room yet failed to writ it down.
