  1. I totally understand your 'why's' ? TBQH I am not up to speed with this particular SM era but I can see where you are coming from ,having just studied 'Phil Urich Green Goblin' on the Marvel (database) . There's a great picture of PUGG & I wouldn't mind betting that that picture heavily influenced the Minimate designer , who knows? In that picture GG's cloak looks to be black on the outer side & a mixture of purple & red on the inside ! Heaven forbid that I am being perceived as being an authority on....er.... anything
  2. Without getting too technical ( I will if you insist) blue tints were often used to portray black in the same way yellow portrayed gold ......'back in the day ' when comics were solely printed in CMYK. Minimates are not printed in CMYK , the palette of colours available to a tampo-printer is theoretically limitless as is the imagination & interpretation of a toy-designer .
  3. My previous post bemoans minimate hands ...... I spent half a lifetime as a lithographic printer matching colours daily with or without a Pantone book. Matching & specifying a colour from a comic book for a plastic toy can't be easy & individual perceptions of colour differ , I think we should perhaps be a little more forgiving ? Unless, however, we're talking about Fantastic Four Minimates & specifically Ben Grimm
  4. Those are great-looking minimates , that Jackal is superb . After all these years I still wish all minimates had fingered hands , the Jackal & the Spider-guy make Doc.Ock's minimate hands (in particular) look almost odd
  5. That makes a lot of sense . I have spent several years collecting multiples of everything 'Minimate' , the Angel /Warpath set was by far the most elusive 2 pack .
  6. Why doesn't someone tell me that I am repeating myself ? Why doesn't someone tell me.............. Much of what is being said about GIJoe retreads could be applied to several other Minimate licences. The classic example would be Star Trek Minimates . I know for sure that I am repeating myself but the first two waves incorporated 13 'mates which were identical from the waist whilst several were duplicated from the waist up ! The line eventually 'opened out' & maybe the Joe line will?
  7. Thank you Zach , I wasn't absolutely sure . So ,now I'm sure , it would be nice to have a couple of 'neutrals' when the std. Minimate is dynamic.
  8. Are we actually getting 5 or 6 (complete) Minimates ?
  9. I'm pretty grounded but I squealed out loud when I saw Invincible minimates in the background of that 'Walking Dead' episode
  10. As always, I have to stress that I don't fit into many if any Minimate demographic ....I also respect your opinion & I agree that Sonic & KH ended very abruptly . I'm not big into Sonic but I was also surprised that we never got at least another box-set, not my 'stuff' but they worked as Minimates, I liked them. Kingdom Hearts Minimates ? I have to be honest ,I just don't think they worked on any level . Sorry! Regards the 'fizzling' I can categorically state that many of the 'fizzled licence' Minimates have become outrageously expensive on the secondary market , Invincibles, Mass Effect & Plants & Zombies (maybe?) immediately come to mind. Unfortunately 'Kingdom Hearts' aren't in that group I haven't mentioned GI Joe , I really hope that the license can get into a bit of a stride . I'll leave it at that.
  11. My opinion would be that we are unlikely see further MCU Minimates It's all history now but the final WG wave which was dumped outside of the US more or less said everything.
  12. No wonder I couldn't figure that 'head' ....it's an alternative head I must have trawled my mind & the MMDB several times ....it's perfect .
  13. Last blow-out was 2014 ....ages ago ! The Bat Cave BTW never really got the praise it deserved , it is a tad 'nervous' but I used to love mine......when I had room I hadn't realised that Box/Vindicator set was so rare! .
  14. My Minimate grails are limited to what new stuff Luke sends me next That said I am always intrigued by other members' minimate Grails .
  15. Words, occasionally, fail me ....brilliant stuff & so accomplished It's difficult to pick my favourite but Manhunter it is ..wow! What's the donor head please?
  16. No argument from me, your post is spot on ......although... ...IMHO the 15 year old GG* (Bring on TBG) is perfection & it is the only true comic version out of the 9 GG we have gotten (Himmel ) . The other versions look archaic or straight from a Walgreens wave. * which was also included in TRU Wave 2 . TRU wave 2 had 10 characters which included (to date) my favourite Green Goblin, one of my favourite Spider-Mans , my favourite Magneto, my favourite Doctor Doom, my favourite Punisher ,my favourite coloured Hulk , perhaps my favourite Wolverine , my favourite Wonder Man & ....cor blimey mate ...Union Jack TRU Wave 2 ....that wasn't a wave it was a Tsunami .....wonderful.
  17. "Solely available from ToesRUs.com ....Shinister Socks ,your favourite Shoe-per-heroes " I'm wandering whether Bigbadtoestore & Lukes Toe store will be stocking them? .....or Entoetainment Earth . -bigtoenailsmate Please help me .....
  18. A Beetle would be soooooo welcome. 'Toy friends' ? You have toys of your friends ??
  19. Lockjaw as a pack in figure? I wouldn't mind a set of Inhumans but it needs to be said that the animated Medusa was superb & very un-animated looking & inexpensively plentiful on eBay . The same 2-pack had a rather dull (lazy design -sorry ) Black Bolt ...but he's OK . What I'm saying is ....I'm not sure an Inhumans set is timely?
  20. Good Lord - Gott Im Himmel. -Hinterkopfpartner
  21. The 'mismatched assortments of random characters' between LCS , TRU Waves & box-sets was contrived & a deliberate marketing decision by DST to encourage collectors to buy from differing sources .
