Display pieces for minimates

Recommended Posts

Ive come across many cool lego building and megablock building sets and I was wondering what are the best buildings and vehicles for mates without paying too much? THe megablock stuff isnt too expensive and looks nice but legos look amazing but are bit too much for me. I basically want to make a little city, two or three small buildings and some vehicles. Any help is apreciated

Have you seen the Alien Agency playsets:

http://www.toymania.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi

The mobile recovery unit and hangar 18 look like a cool S.H.E.I.L.D. base. But what I like about the other sets is when you turn them around they look like normal buildings and may help you out with what you are trying to do . And also try looking up the Mega Bloks Command Ops playsets. Now I don't own any of these and I have heard alot of people saying they suck but I think they look awesome. The only problem is finding them online for cheap since I think these came out in 2002.

I just know I shouldn't be asking this question but what is it?

bhm prepares himself for ridicule from fellow board-members :blush:

I know his name is Starro the Conqueror. That's about it.

I will not ridicule you BHM. This is a place for learning and sharing:

(Plus I've noticed from other posts you are quite witty and don't want you to make fun of me  )

Starro is the big starfish responsible for the formation of the Justice League in the pages of Brave & the Bold:

One of my fav Starro arcs:

A boy in NY (IIRC) found a piece of Starro while fishing. Some starfish can regenerate from a single arm and Starro apparently has this ability. Once he regenerated, he started taking over the inhabitants of NY. The most powerful members of the JLA fell under his spell.

This came out this week:

It will be behind my DC 'mates if I can find one at a reasonable price.

Please share the pics if you do pick up a Starro. I'm strongly tempted to make a custom with little starfish face-huggers to possess my Minimates with. But if HeroClix Starro looks good, I might save myself the hassle.

Heres what im kinda looking for, hopefully this helps a bit

Buildings - Something like a city street or that daily bugle set thing I see in a million pictures on here. Something looking like this

http://www.toymania.com/customcorner/mmdiorama.shtml

obviously thats a custom but i want something along those lines

Construction Site: Its for my spiderman 3 mates, should I get the megablocks one? it looks way too small

Vehicles: Motorcycles and cars, should i just look in a hobby store?

Misc: The only kinda misc stuff I found was this

http://www.cubefigures.com/home.html

Im interested in that kinda weird misc stuff. Something else im looking for is stuff that could make a good mini school

Any links to websites or store suggestions would be great :)

Minimates can fit in some 1:18 scale vehicles (for instance: http://www.millionaireplayboy.com/toys/bttfmm.php ). The Lego motorcycle that comes with the Indy chase set works pretty well with Minimates, too.
