MINI_MYTE
Amazing looking set of Revengers! What may I ask did you use for Scarlet Witch's hair? Polaris?
Bob Harris
I had absolutely know idea these guys even existed, so I looked them up to see what they do look like. You know what I figured out? They do look exactly like your customs! So, well done! And, what I have to point out here, since I'm more of a decal guy: your handpainting skills are fabulous! I especially like the details on Ms. Marvel's and Cap's chest pieces. Did you also did some of the faces? (Please don't tell me you did all of them from scratch. I'd feel unworthy then. )
Shamrock
Thanks for the comments guys! Mini_Myte: That is the Polaris hairpiece with some trimming and resculpting done. Bob: Thanks a lot! While all the characters did get their eyes filled in with red, only Vaughn, Scarlett Witch, Lord Mar-Vell, Adam Magus, and Giant Man have completely hand painted faces. Like the use of the word "only" there. Very impressive, Shamrock!
MiniFiend UK
I knew nothing of these characters also. A quick google and a read up puts me on track, top notch work.

jcastick
Dang man, those are some great customs!! I've never heard of this alternate reality, think I need to check it out now! Edited June 10, 2011 by jcastick
boyd
Brilliant set of customs. Never expected to see the Revengers in Minimate form - does this mean we might see the Guardians of the Galaxy? And Groot?
Shamrock
Thanks for the comments guys! Boyd - No, won't be seeing any of them, at least not from me for quite a bit, I don't know anything about those characters or these. After my next two scheduled groups I'm taking a little break from commissions again, I've noticed I've become a big slacker on them, but this time I plan to focus on doing some personal customs rather than the last one where I focused on nothing. Now for something completely different: Part 2 of this commission! This time we're looking at a small group of Yellow Lanterns! Specifically... Low Maash and Mongul (2.5") These guys were fun to make.
jcastick
Intense Lanterns Shamrock!!! That is a great deal of Sculpting there....very Nice, especially Maash!
MINI_MYTE
I've always loved your Lantern customs. These are some of your finest work. The sculpting on Maash and Low are top notch. What sculpting putty is your preferred medium?
boyd
Great job on the Lanterns! There's a lot of great sculpting on Low and Maash, especially. Love Mongul's face as well.

DillG
Hey, AWESOME SCOTT PILGRIM CUSTOMS! I've been trying to make the same ones you have done based on your customs, quite difficult! ... Any tips? Did you sculpt all of their hair and bass? You ever gonna get down to doing ramona? ;P
Shamrock
Hey thanks! Tips? Sure! First off, I did sculpt a lot of the hairpieces, though there are some exceptions. Scott = Frodo Lucas Lee = Old Man Logan Todd Ingram = Demitri Roxy = Rachel Grey (This could easily be used for Knives & Ramona) Though almost all of these did have some mods done of them, like cutting the points off of Frodo's ears. And yeah, Scott's bass is sculpted too, but try finding the one from the Cheff Duff set, it's the same style. Finally, for painting, try and find one specific panel or photo to base the Minimate off of, particularly for the face. Hope that helps, and good luck! As for Ramona, just keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks Edited July 24, 2011 by Shamrock

DillG
I've now successfully (kinda ) done todd! And I'm now working on NEGA SCOTT! I'd like to see your take on nega scott! (hint hint) Edited July 26, 2011 by DillG
Bob Harris
(bla bla bla) As for Ramona, just keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks Hell yeah!
Shamrock
Sorry DillG, I'm pretty worn out on Scott Pilgrim right now, so it's unlikely you'll be seeing more from me. But just for you, I'll photoshop up a Nega-Scott when I post Ramona. And yeah, I did sculpt the sideburns, and I have no idea where any of my jackets came from (except Gideon's, his is from Jack Bauer) All my parts are separated in a tool box, so I just used whatever jackets I had and sculpted the details. DillG
Thats kewl! THANKS!!! ... Same with my parts so i guess ill just use what I've got (:
pawcanada
Did no one else read the awesome Cosmic storyline "The Thanos Imperative"?! That comic had Beta Ray Bill, Nova, Quasar, Gladiator, Silver Surfer and Ronan team up to kick ass! And Rocket Raccoon. He makes anything awesome. Anyway, thoes Ravager customs are brilliant! I might have to commission some of them from you myself in the future .
Shamrock
So hey! Update time! Another commission for Mr. Punisher which allowed me to finish a custom I had started but at some point lost the desire to complete... Ramona Flowers! That's Mark VI Iron Man hair cut apart and sculpted, and all the accessories are scratch-built. The roller skates are removable, and the head of the hammer is thin plastic over foam, so it's very lightweight and can be held without the need for a base in more poses. And of course, why just get Ramona? You gotta have... Scott Pilgrim! Scott Pilgrim Mk.3 has newly sculpted hair that better captures the style (and enormous ears) of the art, specifically the art from Vol. 4's cover, which was also the basis for the face. How does he compare to my Scott? Well I wish I wasn't sending him away And finally, Punisher wanted a companion to his Hellboy. The original plans called for Kriegaffe #10, but unfortunately I couldn't find a single part I needed. So option #2 was... The Alien! The Alien here came together surprisingly easily, probably cause the reference art had a heck of a lot less details than Hellboy's did And finally, to round out that Scott Pilgrim collection, here's the promised Nega-Scott photoshop So ya next time1
DillG
AWEEEESOME xD ... They are amazing, such talent! What one are you sending away?? ;: |
