drgnrbrn316 Posted February 16, 2007 Share Posted February 16, 2007 Ignoring the potential flame war, I'd have to agree that I wouldn't consider anything finalized until DST announces something either confirming or denying what Wizard is saying. After all, some of the information in the latest ToyFare article was out dated or otherwise inaccurate (contents of BttF box set, for instance), and it wouldn't be the first time that information was reported that was later changed. In addition, we know that DST had no Spidey 3 minimates to show at Toy Fair, despite earlier hints that we'd see something in the Radical report. It could be that at some point, they had two lines of Spidey stuff planned, but may have altered those plans. However, if it is true and we do get two waves of Spidey, I don't forsee it killing the line in any way. As I said before, in the past, when AA/DST has put out several waves of newly sculpted stuff, they usually slip back into a couple of waves of simpler stuff. Why not let them blow their load on Spidey stuff then lay off it for a while so they can continue to give us waves like Avengers afterwards? No, actually you commented that news is "leeched" from MMMV. I disagree. Would you say the New York Times leeches from the Associated Press newswire? No, because they credit the source. We do as well. Yep it was there for all of about 5 seconds, I took it down because I realised there would be an overreaction from certain parties and I was right. I don't see any overreaction on my part or Fujis. Just asking for an explanation. I'm not sure Inflammitory is the right word that would imply it's not true. T. It was inflammitory. With Spider-man 3 coming out, kids and adults will eat up anything with a spider on it's chest, so these MM should sell well as long as people can easily find them. These people, who may not be MM collectors, will look at the toys, play with the toys, and at some point, there will be new MM collectors born who will, just like I did, eat up anything they can get their hands on, and be excited for future releases. Logan Posted February 16, 2007 Share Posted February 16, 2007 I think that while the marketing move on puttting out so many Spidey sets is great, by the time they hit shelves(if these are 17/18)is going to be awful. Much of the hype is going to be gone, unless DST can release them to coincide with the DVD release. And like CR said, for these to be a hit, they must be avaliable to the mass market! You said that we "leech" information from this site and the reason that I bring Danny into this and why it is perfectly relevant is that we are both fan sites that use this as their prime source of information. Direct or indirection affiliation does not make the practices of MMHQ "leeching". I have also explained why I mentioned giving credit - which was in response to your remarks in the first place. And the only reason I keep bringing it up is that you continuing attacking in your passive-aggressive way and trying to brush off the whole thing like it was nothing.
