So I love minimates, and I’ve always appreciated the ease of making cool customs with the numerous parts available. I never did much custom work before but now with the drought of new mates, and my newfound love for DC characters, I’ve been trying to create new characters.

Throughout the years I’ve bought great custom mates from very talented people from eBay and other places. I am starting this thread for anybody who has cool custom or has made anything cool, who don’t post anything here. I plan to show off some I’ve made/working on or have bought through the years. I hope this will get the community excited again!

Use the "Other Media" dropdown menu on the bottom-right of the post editing window, right above the "Submit Reply" button.

I see you used an Angel Chest block and hip section. Who's arms and legs did you use?  The helmet is form Buck Rodgers and the jetpack from a Spiderman, correct?

Yes you are correct on all parts! I used the Angel from the champions set for the arms and legs. They work great for Adam Strange because the red matches perfectly!

I wish minimates had a more subtle jet pack. I need a more comic accurate look for the character as that angel chest block is way to expensive to risk messing up.

Well, I am going to mimic the figure, but I don't have the Angel figure you used. So I will likely make a decal for the chest block.

Thank you for sharing your concept.  I like it and never really though I would make an Adam Strange for my collection until I saw yours.

 

Great job, creative licensing is permitted when the actual parts are not available.

I’ve seen some pics of Adam Strange (most likely more modern versions and not classic) where he didn’t have the straps across his chest. 
 

Would animated Falcon (hail Ivan) be a cheap alternative? This way people could have a version of the character in their collection?
