Mister Nick
Hello Everyone, I just joined the Multiverse after lurking for a while now. I thought I'd share a few Star Trek customs that I've made. Thanks for checking them out, Mister Nick

Mister Nick
Thanks! The Andorian is a Kree Soldier head, Chekov body, Dr Fate hairpiece, antenna made with epoxy putty, painted with Citadel acrylics. The Orion is made from Janice Rand parts, hairpiece from Phoenix, and Citadel paints & Inks. The yellow crewmember is an Uhura skirt painted, Chekov torso & arms with paint details removed and repainted with Citadel Chaos Black & Black Ink mixed, Betty Ross head, San Serrif hairpiece. The three Klingons are all Khan heads with Citadel Chaos Black & Ink mixture to paint on extra facial hair/eyebrows. One has the hairpiece from Tuco (guy in my profile pic), another hairpiece from Pike, not sure of the third hairpiece because it came with a few mates. Mister Nick
A long time hunting with more then a fistful of dollars, I finally tracked down all of the Dollars Trilogy Minimates. They are some of the coolest mates made in my opinion. I wanted some extra cowboys for extras in my displays. So with a few doubles from the Dollars sets, a Wolverine, and the BTTF 3 boxset I made some cowboys... Mad Dog Tannen was a simple swap of legs and add boots. (why he didn't have them to begin with is a mystery to me) The Plaid Cowboy is Wolverine from the Through the Ages boxset, with a head from one of the 24 sets, and Blondie's hat reformed with hot water, then painted brown. The Shotgun Cowboy is Marty McFly's hat reformed with hot water, hair painted black, head from Crimson Dynamo (great mustache), Trenchcoat from Doc Brown, shotgun from Kraven, the rest of the parts from Dollars mates. Poncho Cowboy is Man in Black hat, 24 boxset head, Marty McFly poncho repainted, and a few Dollars mates boots legs etc. Old Cowboy is Doc Brown's hat, General Ross head (another great mustache), Multiple Man arms and trenchcoat, Man in Black belt/holster, boots and pants from Dollars mates. Mister Nick
Before the bulked up Thing was out, I thought that most of the Things that had been released just didn't look bulky enough (tiny waist & feet). There were now bulky chests, waistpieces, hands, feet etc. So, I made my own Thing... He is made from a variety of previous Thing mates. Original Thing's head/arms/fists/lower legs, Powerhouse Thing's chest, Giantman's bulked up waist repainted, Clobberin' Time Thing's upper legs, and Beast's feet from the 1st Appearance boxset. I used an exacto knife and some small files to match the texture of the duckfeet to Thing's fists, then painted them. Even with the newer bulked up Thing's released, I still prefer the look of my custom Thing. I think he fits in with his new size and bulk, but keeps more with the concept of the block figures that Minimates were. buttheadsmate
'In the day' the Western Trilogy failed to set the minimate world alight but I loved them & still do. Cowboys & indians Minimates would IMO sell & sell well . Your customs are superb .,nice stuff.
Nessex
Nice work Nick. I quite like him! He's bulky but still has a minimateness about him. He's still identifiable as a minimate.
Mystery Man
Wow! I really like your work on this! It looks spectacular!
Punisher
Great work! The FFOD Trilogy is among my favorite mate sets . Cowboys & Aliens Minimates would IMO sell & sell well Fixed!
Mystery Man
Those look fantastic, fella! I especially love the Andorian... prolly because we never got one released in the series.
Mystery Man
Those part swaps look very good as well. I'd enjoy a cowboy waved series, like the Calico Jack stuff. My only regret is not buying more than one set of each of those Man With No Name sets when they were around.
Mister Nick
Here are a couple of quick Marvel customs that I've done recently. First Appearance Red Ghost... He uses Morg's hairpiece, Ultimate Wolverine's head, Mole Man's body, Captain Britain's gloves, and painted boots and chest details. Next an updated Professor Xavier for my First Appearance X-Men... The Professor is Through the Ages Tony Stark pants, GB Mayor torso, Target exclusive Professor's wheelchair, and the blanket painted black. Really quick and easy way to update him a bit. Sorry for the grainy pics. I couldn't find my camera, so I used my phone.
Mystery Man
My Red Ghost looks like that too, only I kept black gloves on him. It looks really great with the white for Kirby Authenticness! I've become stumped with making him in the red jumpsuit with the furry collar. The one from the Spidey boxed set Black Cat would go perfect, but it AND the Morg hair are too much for the neckpiece and won't fit together. Mister Nick
Yeah, I tried to figure out the red suit too. I tried that Black Cat combination, and tried First Appearance Sabertooth fur, but the Morg hairpiece would have to be cut and resculpted a bit. In the end Kirby's Red Ghost from FF #13 was just plain easier to do. Edited December 9, 2011 by Mister Nick
Mystery Man
If I can end up finding another Morg cheap, I may end up doing the cutting and glueing of the Morg hairpiece route. Normally I'm fine with things like that but lately I've been strapped and don't wanna cut up my one extra and then not be able to replace it easily. Liney
I love all the Trek mates, especially all the Klingons. I've been wanting to do something similar for a while, maybe be borrowing some of those recipes.
Captain Paco
I am truly in awe of your Andorian. I made two myself but I used a blue paperclip cut to be the antennea and used Atlantian Solders for the heads and hands. I like all of your Trek creations. I wish I was that patient. I am throwing this out there as well since I know you had to sculpt your antennea on the Andorian and it was likely easy, but I am trying to make a Mugatu and I can't get the putty off the mate without damaging my design. How do you sculpt and remove to bake without damaging the sculpting you did on the mate?
Mister Nick
I use a putty called Green Stuff. It is a two part epoxy putty that you can get at home depot. You mix the two together, and it hardens on its own in 24 hours. Much easier to use then sculpy in my opinion.
Nervous Rex
Green Stuff is great! I've been using it for the last few months. stays very smooth, and stays kind of flexible, so its easier to take off/move around/etc...

Mister Nick
It is usually a blue and white, or a blue and yellow ribbon. You mix equal parts of each, knead them together, and you have about an hour or so where it is still soft and clay-like and easy to sculpt. BannersID
that Thing is spectacular! I like the look of that quite a bit vs the bulked up version we have, I like that bulked out look for the mega rage Hulk but it just doesn't seem to fit Thing.
