  1. True - I'll probably make a sticker for both options. Depending on the thickness off the collar rings, they tend to block a lot of head movement. The ladies also have a larger cowl neck on their tunics
  2. Quick, and terrifying, face for Agatha Harkness - as I had a quick custom in the works. There's not many good references of her - but might take a second go and make her look a little less ancient
  3. I stuck the price and year into an inflation calculator which tells me that £7.99 in 2007 would be £13.91 today. So nearly double in 20 years isn't too crazy
  4. Pricing for me is difficult, as I'm so out of touch. I think Invaders was the last set I bought at retail - I think it was around £30, and two packs were £7.99. Then I never saw any other sets until Walking Dead, which weren't my thing, or NBX which I only saw on clearance. So in my head they are still about £4-5 a mate... even when buying in the secondary market
  5. He probably should get extra points for not yellowing like the clear ones do too
  6. Going back and filling in some gaps in my collection, which lead me to wonder - what's the best Iceman? I like the original clear Wave 11, but wished he had a better ice effect like the frosted version. The blue tinted target version has a better contrast print X-Factor print doesn't show up too clearly, but does have his inhibitor belt I'd probably go with the clear Wave 11, but in an ideal world would frost him up a little more (maybe a matte spray?) with an ice accessories from Wave 59
  7. Another not particularly thrilling make: replica (or as close as I could measure) of the banded staff that comes with DC Deathstroke and Gambit, as the rubber version is too bendy for my liking. Would be pretty easy to add additional segments to make it longer/shorter too. Will add to Thingiverse, when the uploader will finally let me... Eventually want to make some swords, tridents etc to replace the rubbery ones, and some that are a bit thick so stretch out MM hands - I'm looking at you Ocean Master!
  8. I'd love more AIM, or Hellfire guards, or SHIELD. But not sure if we've had all the main looks? Acolytes would be fun - but them more a sticker set kinda deal
  9. Worth noting if you're buying them in store, from what I could find online, these are true blind boxes with no codes to work out which you've got.
  10. Snapped a few pics for you The small ones are Defenders - which cost me £3 each The larger one is a Galaxy - which was £8 As you can see they've got a pretty good centre of balance Defenders and MM can swap heads, both of which look alright to me MM head will fit on a Galaxy - but with a giraffe neck. You could cut of some of the red neck, and shorten the neck peg, which is like Lego technic pin Head socket too deep on a Galaxy head to fit a MM
  11. I bought a couple to what they were like, and they are pretty cool. Aside from the waist being a bit limited the articulation is great, the legs have full 90 degrees range of motion in all directions, and the ball joints means elbows and knees and go outwards too. I did stress the plastic when I tried to take one apart, so not sure if they are designed for that. The smallest ones are just a touch smaller than MM, mainly as they have short torsos. Interestingly the head fits each others neck pegs though. I'll try and snap some pics later
  12. A bit more work on Arex's legs, trying to work out the angles for his legs and feet. The back foot is going to have to be a different angle to the front ones. Front legs will probably be spread to give a wider stance/better balance, with the feet sculpted to be flat in that position. Blue leg to show the height of a regular mate - he'll probably ended up a few mm taller, which I feel is fine.
  13. I've not thought about that before. I have a master copy which I copy pieces off of to work on. So I would have to update any different version if I make changes. I imagine there's a way - like using smart objects in photoshop. Printing is looking like it'll be at least a month away. The heatwave has put a stop of working on building my workshop space - it's still a powerless, doorless shell currently 😔
  14. Oooh, thanks - I'll have a tinker. I can't get my head around the geometry for the thumb for either type of hand. Been working Arex's 'below decks' Added the hip ball to the back of the hips and rotated the hip socket to run front to back rather than sideways. Need to remove some of the 'crotch' to allow the leg to pivot forward or backwards. I realised I modelled the knee backwards though 🫣 The first pic is how his leg should look, but is very gappy. The second looks better to me, despite being 'wrong'. All 3 knees would bend backwards as per usual, with a hoof style foot to get the 'S' bend shape - the back foot might need to be at a different angle to balance him. Either angle could have what would normally be the inside leg cut out made smaller, as per the red dotted line to look better from the front. His extra leg has the range and direction of motion as the regular two, which is tricky, but not impossible, to do on a minimate. The 2D animation sort of warps depending on what's needed, so I don't believe he would ever be able to sit down as he's shown doing- he'll be standing at a bridge station anyway as Chekov will be a the helm anyway.
  15. I did something similar for my other creative stuff - printed out some life size front and side photos, laminated them and keep them in a card envelop in my backpack for when I'm out and about, as they are considerably bigger than a minimate!
