  1. This is what I like about designing and printing stuff. I be he had a Eureka moment when he decided to make one peg longer than the other. It just works so well.
  2. Somewhat inspired by the toy linked above, some preliminary work on a new model.
  3. Ivan was successful. Look a bit down this page. http://www.minimatelabs.com/default.php Or is there a more recent effort you're thinking of?
  4. Now I wish I wasn't a tinfoil hat wearing crackpot with no instagram account due to concerns of being tracked by "Big Brother". LOL
  5. They were priced well enough that it won't hurt too bad if some stuff doesn't scale well. Interested to see how they work out for you.
  6. Nice find. Sadly it looks to me like a mix of 12" scale and probably 3.75" scale figures and accessories. All of which will likely be too big for minimates. You never know though. I find some oversize stuff still looks pretty good. Playmobil horses for example.
  7. If you are don't want to delete old stuff to make room, get a free account at a photo hosting site. Upload your photos there and then link to them. All my photos posted in the last couple of years are hosted on flickr.
  8. or did you mean Hamm ...? They should give them all pointy finger hands and package them in a circle. 🤣
  9. Sorry. This isn't about Minimates but you guys are the only ones I know who will appreciate this. I was out walking this afternoon and I saw a guy who looked just like the Krang exosuit from the classic cartoon. LIke a live human version. I almost did a spit take. Kind of a pointy head with a buzz cut and squared off oversized glasses. It would be such a great Halloween costume for that guy.
  10. I dig what you're saying man. It's almost like if Baskin Robins had 88 flavours, all bad. PS Though I think most of us would put our faith in Luke if he did one.
  11. Some of these could have been licensor decisions. But that's quite a pile of seemingly poor choices. DST should take note.
  12. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm wondering what people would think of a Blackbird styled like the one in this link. It's only a two seater. But I think a four or six seater could be created for mates with a somewhat similar look. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1997-men-blackbird-jet-original-box-504233662
  13. For me it was Catwoman. I hated Michelle Pfeiffer in the role. Like worst thing in the movie for me. Didn't like the costume or her performance. But this custom is an awesome likeness and really struck me. And again, well done to all the contestants!
  14. Well done to all the entrants! So much Adam Baldwin love for one contest. LOL
  15. Holy fox in the hen house Batman! That would be like Andy Garcia inviting Clooney and friends to spend the night in his hotel.
  16. In my continuing quest for a clean Bishiop, I bought a cheap drawing tablet and basically tried to trace over a photo of "Soiled Bishop". It actually came out not too bad considering it was the very first thing I tried after unboxing the tablet. Still too ugly to post a pic though. Also, he's got kind of a surprised expression. "I don' remember having an Alien tail poking though my chest yesterday. Hmm." I think with a little more experience, I should be able to make something half decent looking. However, my offer is still open and I'm open to negotiations. Anything in my 3d printed collection is potentially on the table and I've got a decent MIB collection as well. I'm not going to inventory but I've got all Trek and BSG mates in package, and a bunch of older Marvel stuff. I would have thought a 1:1 scale mate-like 3d printed block figure would have been of more interest. But anything for that Bishop face. 😆
  17. Thanks for the feedback guys. The one on the left is the most show accurate colour scheme. The one on the right is inspired by the Mego Starfighter and I think I'm going to go with that one for myself. I'm working on stickers to make it more Mego-ish. If it wasnt' for that I'd probably go for the middle one. I think toys look good with lots of contrast. I printed most of my Viper canopies in that colour as well though white would have been more show accurate. I'm currently printing what I hope is the final version. It is again that point where none of you would probably notice the difference from the previous version. LOL That's always the sign that I'm close. When I feel like no one will even see the revisions I'm compelled to make, it's about time to stop. I think I'm going to do a Marauder next. Then I'll have two sets of enemy fighters. It full of all kinds of weird angles. Might be fun or might be a nightmare. We'll see. I've got a good colour plastic to use and I need to get some Olive PLA for the dropship anyway (and design it).
  18. What do you think? Silver canopy or white? The starfighter is getting close to done. I was so disheartened for a bit there on the first round but I really like it now.
  19. Take note Zaxh, We seem to be building an army here of army builder fans who would like to build an army of army builders.
  20. I ended up making my own canopy after all. It was a bit of a pain but the one I was trying to borrow was coming out with such thin walls that it was super-fragile. Now I can tweak the dimensions all I want and control the thickness. I've just finished up another revision I'm rather happy with and will start to print another prototype. I've fixed everything I can think of that needs fixing. I may have another go at the rear engine pods. Trying to keep it compact but I think they'd look better a little longer and thinner. Anyway, getting close to done.
