  1. Man, what a terrific game. I used to play that and X-Men vs Street Fighter all the time at the arcade. It really helped cultivate my love for marvel's merry mutants.
  2. Yes, it was a backup story for like three issues.
  3. The AXIS storyline had a pretty clean assortment, as did Hickman's Secret Wars. Both of which were released within a year of their respective comic book stories. Albeit, the latter wasn't super tied to the storyline, but each of those characters appeared and it delivered some great looks. People still gush over the Giant-Size X-Men and Maximum Carnage waves, I think (at least I still do). Although not timely relevant, it still stands as a good representation of how DST can deliver on storyline specific series' Heck, look at the recent Phoenix figures! The X-Men have always been at the forefront of Marvel's pantheon and if Hickman's writing style hasn't changed, I'm sure he'll still be chugging through this story by the time DST feels comfortable enough to give it Minimates. I think DST tends to listen to the Multiverse to see what could sell. Heck, they did a whole series of characters that they'd noticed us clamoring for. Patience.
  4. I, too, grew up watching the Batman series and loved it as a child and still love it today. However, as a kid I think I understood that it's supposed to be silly and poking a little fun at itself. Having grown up reading both my dad's Batman comics from the 70s and 80s AND being exposed to the uber darkness of 2000s Batman, I've always understood that there are various levels to the Caped Crusader, each of which deserves a moment in the sun.
  5. That's an interesting idea. "Manufacture-On-Demand Minimates" could work out. Similar to what Warner Bros. Video has done with their Hanna-Barbera DVD releases. I'd like for DST to bring back polling like they've done with the Galactus box set, Infinity box set and series 50.
  6. Any ideas on how to fix loose elbow joints? I've got a couple figures (mainly on the Hulk-sized ones) whose elbows just won't stand anymore.
  7. I got into the DVDs which I would take out from the library religiously growing up. However, it doesn't hold up. At all. Good way to introduce a generation or two into a ton of second and third string characters, but it's pretty clearly for children. As someone who prides themselves on their status as an "animation junkie" X-Men: The Animated Series is certainly not one of the finer examples of western animation. Shoddy animation and voice acting and lack of original storytelling don't add up to a great show. I mean really, after the first season, pretty much every single episode is a straight adaptation of Chris Claremont's stories with the Jim Lee characters inserted. Like a lot of things, I think you can blame nostalgia for its Disney+ resurgence. Children of the 90s remembering their times watching it and playing with the abysmal ToyBiz figures.
  8. Odin's Gungnir is classified as a spear, I would say Lilandra's is a tool along those lines.
  9. I've longed shared your sentiment about marvel movies, Kostis. I was especially floored by all the recognition Black Panther received. I'm all for what it represented and I'm glad that people felt heard and noticed by it, but as a movie??? Not what I would consider "cinema" my good sir. In my book, the first wave of movies they put out are by far the best (barring the Hulk, but we can't win em all). Each of those movies had a distinctly different visual style, tone, and unique photography that made the task of putting them all together in one picture all the more daunting. Once they proved that it could be done, they abandoned all sense of artistic style and started popping out popcorn flicks like it was a family reality show on TLC and shoving them in our faces doing a poor imitation of the bully from a John Hughes film. Thor Ragnarok is funny and I enjoy laughing at it, but so is Step Brothers and I don't expect to see that movie being granted a Criterion Collection release in this lifetime. Marvel movies lack the emotional maturity depth they started out with.
  10. Everything that wasn't a Planet Hulk adaptation was, IMHO.
  11. Yes, Spy-D is just another name for Miles. So I guess this one's just a retread figure?
  12. One of those has already been made in this animated style, however.
  13. For series 12, the redo heroes would probably be some of the Avengers since they had a prominent role in the second season of the Spider-Man 'toon. That's anyone between: Iron Man Black Widow Captain America Ms. Marvel (Khan) Two villains who've never been done in an animated form but have been done in comic form. Recent comic book variants of Spidey foes that have also been in the show would include: The Spot Beetle (I know we got the Lincoln version, but I think it still counts) Jack O' Lantern Ghost I think an Iron Man / Ghost pack is a pretty clear no-brainer. I'd say Ms. Marvel is the other hero. I'm hopeful for either Jack O' Lantern or Beetle for the other villain.
  14. Sorry for the thread necro, but does anybody even have the trans. purple Donatello figure? I've been looking for one and haven't ever found it. I vaguely remember some controversy around the release so maybe it goes deeper than I thought. Any insight (or sales) would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Ooh, that'd be cool! Even if it's an implied translucency like on Ghost.
  16. Slight derailment, but on the topic of that Black Spidey 'mate does anyone have one up for grabs
  17. Pics or it didn't happen!
  18. Have we heard about a Red Son vini? I haven't found any images nor an announcement.
  19. Well it's in three days. Is DST gonna be there? Is anyone else planning on going?
  20. I don't know. I'll have to have it in hand.
