  1. These Minimates didn't sell well! It's been said 100 times. They made Captains. Those are the most recognizable characters and they ended up as peg-warmers. Of course DST is moving on to other things. You can't expect Star Trek (a show that wasn't even popular in the 60's with a current niche fan base) to have the longevity of MARVEL. Star Trek toys are notorious for not selling well.
  2. Yes. Nissa isn't translucent and Red has different printing.
  3. The figures look really good in person but I can't justify $20.
  4. I agree, Marvel isn't going away any time soon. This year was just a more movie focused year because of factors outside of DST's control. One other thing to note: Chuck mentioned something along the lines of "Kevin (Smith) approaching them about Comic Book Men Minimates." I'm not sure if he made it up as an example to answer the question about "people approaching them vs them approaching others" or if there is more to it. I'll ask at the booth today. Also I too am running on little sleep. Don't quote me on "Will" either. I'll check that too.
  5. Zach was the one that announced the box set. I thought I heard him say will but perhaps I'm wrong. Aliens 2-pack control art was shown. They want to release them after everything else.
  6. Ronan and Iron Man WILL be fit into another wave (TRU 19?). You WILL get him. The figure IS designed and has an early painted prototype.
  7. I must say the painted proto pic of Thanos looked REAALY good.
  8. I attended the panel. Nothing too revealing. No pics allowed. Marvel box set lineup announced. Control art from Aliens. Packaging art for blind bags. Chuck joked about molesting Minimates and Zach about Cats (the musical). Oh and the power loader is definitely possible.
  9. It's Thanos, Thane, Cap, and Hulk. Ronan and Iron Man WILL be made though.
  10. No the articulation is normal. There is just sculpting where the hand and arm meet.
  11. Pk13: Thanks. It's no big deal. I hope my comments weren't too harsh either. I've been running on about 5 hours of sleep each day, so when I got back to my hotel (exhausted) I wasn't expecting to see a post like that. I'm glad we worked this out because we all have a pretty good thing going here at the multiverse. Ok! Now to go wait in one line for an hour to wait in another line for an hour to wait in another line for the chance to attend an Avengers signing! Regards -CBMM1
  12. Pk13: I don't want to get into an arguement here, but I feel that your statement is an unfair presumption. I'm not DST's poster boy here. I've had my fair share of criticisms of their products in the past. Not everything they do is golden in my eyes. I also don't understand why you feel the need to criticize me when I'm merely trying to contribute to the discussion. None of us know the cold hard facts on this. I'll ask Zach for more info tomorrow. Until then, I'd appreciate not being outed as a goody two-shoes when I'm just trying to be optimistic. Regards -CBMM1
  13. I hardly see this as "jumping through hoops". Halloween ComicFest figures are notorious for being abundant and relatively low prices on the secondary market. Just ask your LCS to order them. Most are willing. Maybe Luke will have some too. After talking with Zach at SDCC today, I am excited for the future of Minimates. I can't wait for the panel tomorrow!
  14. Ha! You all have it lucky. I had to work for mine. The DST turtle was easy to get from Zach, but the Nickelodeon one was a pain in the $#%! No one knew when it was being given out or hardly even about them. Luckily I overheard Zach saying 2 @ the Nick booth. So I went over and finally got one! GREAT Minimates though...can't wait for the full release!
  15. Yeah, no TWD this time. I too found that odd. Can't wait for the panel tomorrow!
  16. Sorry guys, I've been busy with the con. I'll take pics tomorrow and post when I get back. I'll also recap the panel.
  17. They look great! I can't wait to see them in person tomorrow!
  18. I think it was Zenescope's choices of what to price them.
  19. WOW! I'll definitely going to be ordering some of those! (Assuming that DST doesn't announce Predator at SDCC.)
  20. $10!!! $10!?!?!? EACH!?!?!?! Who do these people think they are? I love the figures, but not for that price! I'd rather buy an extra box set!
  21. Did you guys get them in store or online?
  22. Look who's exhibiting @ SDCC. 88 Tranzmedia http://www.agent88films.com/
  23. I can't wait to see these figures! They may sway me to buy them.
