  1. Everyone should read agents of atlas. I would love minimates of these guys. With the exception of Woo and maybe Venus, the designs are very toy friendly.
  2. Color-wise it matches the Astonishing and First Class versions. Looks off on anything else.
  3. If you check the Hardcover edition of the OHOTMU, they number the Iron Man armors. There's a timeframe where they all really blur together, but I have it narrowed down to these: Model 24 (Iron Man #73, 2003): The Minimate has a much smoother design, this armor is a lot clunkier. Probably not this one. http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel//universe3zx/images/8/8c/MikeFichera--IronMan-Model24.jpg Model 25 (Iron Man #74, 2004): The pre-Extremis armor. Very close, the way Minimate arms are designed it's hard to say exactly. But everything else is there. http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel//universe3zx/images/e/e7/MikeFichera--IronMan-Model25.jpg Model 29 (Iron Man #1, 2005): The Extremis armor. Almost identical to the Model 25, but the gold parts on the legs for Extremis are smooth. The Minimate has the overlapping plates on the legs for the gold parts, so it's closer to Model 25. http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel//universe3zx/images/f/f8/MikeFichera--IronMan-Model29.jpg So in conclusion, I think it's the Model 25 armor. If you compare the Minimate to all the above, I think it's clear. And I noticed that about Rhino too but assumed maybe he looked like that for a brief time. I guess not since I couldn't find any proof.
  4. Thought that might have been him flamed on in the promo image someone posted a few days ago. He did it in Age of Apocalypse, so maybe that's him in the Marvel Now Avengers image. I gave up Marvel in 2009, but last I saw of Sunfire he was a Horsemen Of Apocalypse and looked exactly like his AOA counterpart. Pretty sure that's the only look he's had where he was "fired up."
  5. Laziness kept me from doing this, finally put it in boiling water and slid it on just fine. Stuck the head in the freezer immediately after. Goes on and off just fine now.
  6. Why would sunfire need a torched up variant? His powers work differently then johnny storm's
  7. I've also had that problem with Aurora's black hair piece. It's not just tight, it's visibly smaller then the white hair piece.
  8. I know he's not that popular around here, but I want New X-Men made just so we can get a proper cat-Beast
  9. Yeah, from the Larry Stroman stuff to the Quesada stuff to the Jeff Matsuda and Steve Epting stuff, X-Factor went through quite a few looks in the 90's. If I could pick one consistent look to get made, I would like the original Larry Stroman designs as they are the most iconic. If X-Factor ever does get the green light, I hope we don't get mixtures of different versions of the team like we did with the Liefeld and Capullo 90's X-Force's. Original Stroman look all the way.
  10. It's the Squadron Supreme, who have been pretty much been neglected in every Marvel toy line.
  11. Iceman is one of those mates that doesn't really look out of place compared to newer ones, but man would he be great with the newer bases and snap-ons. I'm thinking something like the second ToyBiz sculpt we got in the 90's based on JRJR's art at the time.
  12. Actually, 90's X-Factor Polaris would be much more then minute differences.
  13. I can't even fathom how people can still collect Marvel Legends. I saw a Spider-Man, with no accessories, and no build a figure piece, for almost $20 at TRU. A basic Spider-Man. That's insanity. I remember all the cool bases, comics, accessories and huge BAF pieces that Legends used to have, it's sad to see how far they've fallen because they really were the standard bearer for action figures for so long. I still think getting 2 Minimates for $10 is worth it, especially after seeing all of the concept art for upcoming waves and all the cool extras we'll be getting. Just keep up the quality without hiking prices too much and you'll keep this loyal customer.
  14. I would almost rather see just a Banner figure then Banner with Hulk add ons. I was thinking the same about that new Ben Grimm/Thing. I'm probably in the minority here, but it just seems like a lot of work to try to make the colors line up, Banner looks awkward wearing a green shirt. Looks like he's gonna get alternate arms too. When I first heard the concept, I thought Banner would have a white suit underneath and the parts that still show after you "Hulk him up" like elbows, side of torso, etc. would be covered with torn clothing sculpted around those areas on the bulked up pieces. Oh well, everyone else seems to like it. I've wanted an updated Banner for years now and there's plenty of chest pieces that could be swapped out. Everything else loks really awesome. Best Of Wave 1 were pretty much repaints, surprised to see so much effort put into Loki, he's really a totally new Loki compared to what's been released before. I'll definitely pick up all of these.
  15. I think it's supposed to be a shiny, non-bulky updated version of Extremis. I've heard others say it's supposed to be the version he had right before, but there's not enough yellow in the legs and the details are different.
  16. Picked these up over the weekend, chose not to get the Ultimates. A few notes: The TRU exclusive stickered packs were two to a case and the others were four. Quality control is a major issue with this wave. Box and Iron Man's helmets were impossible to get off. Freezing did not work. Boiling did, and it was still damn hard to get the things off. It's almost like the paint was not dry before the helmets were put on. A lot of paint chipped off Iron Man's head. I have the same issues with Box's head having red blotches on it. It seems like some of the black paint came off his head, but not knowing what he's "supposed" to look like, I'm not sure. I hate sculpted legs, and I don't think Iron Man would have been worse off if they gave him regular legs with tampos. The legs barely stay on, it's almost like they weren't thought through all the way. Vindicator's red helmet goes on smooth, but the blue one is impossibly tight. I'm leaving it off because it WILL get stuck if I put it on. Havok and Storm are perfect. Ditto Rhino. No complaints there. Overall I really do like this wave, but the quality is a serious issue.
  17. Didn't see this mentioned yet, but check out what Puppet Master's holding EDIT: I don't think that's a Wolverine TTA box set as they all represent the modern age. That symbiote Wolverine was from a New Avengers arc a few years ago, I've heard the Space Wolverine is AVX, then you have his current costume and the Ultimate version. Through the Ages sets represent various eras, so it's possible that these Wolverine's could spread out over releases. Or it could just be a Wolverine box set under a different name. The later being most likely.
  18. I don't think that's a 90's Space Wolverine though, he's wearing his Modern Costume underneath. Anybody know if that's from a specific storyline? He wore a Space Suit in Fatal Attractions, but that ain't it. I will say I like the "short" mask though, something we haven't seen on Wolverine' yet. Now we just need a proper Astonishing Wolvie.
  19. Anybody know who the guy in the orange jumpsuit next to Thing is? I'm guessing that's a pilot Ben Grimm, or maybe a Project: PEGASUS scientist? I like the fact that we're finally getting a proper "Manifest Destiny" Wolverine, but those other Wolvie's are hideous. I recognize Ultimate Wolverine, who are the other two? Good to finally see the Hulk's, I was really wondering how Maestro's arm was going to work based on the design sheets, now I see And new Human Torch to go along with Johnny Storm, sweet!
  20. I still don't think that it's going to be another Worthy/Mighty set... or at least that it should be. The story was not particularly well received, it doesn't appear to be a big part of the continuing Marvel framework (the way Civil War and Secret Invasion were), and the designs are fairly esoteric and unlikely to appeal to a mass audience. Were I in charge of DST, I'd probably just let Fear Itself rest... ... but then, I'm not in charge of DST. I one thousand percent agree with this.
  21. The stuff Marvel's been churning out over the past few years just keeps getting further and further away from what I'm interested in reading about. I'm sure the book will be just fine based on the creative team, but the concept is just so lazy.
  22. Damn, this is unexpected! Unexpected and awesome. Kind of reminds me of that Marvel Monsters 4-Pack that came out a few years back in the Marvel Legends line, which was one of my all-time favorites. Now I REALLY need a classic Gene Colan Dracula....
  23. I've always liked Salvador Larroca as an artist, but his costume designs are horrible. Look at X-Treme X-Men or late 90's "clown" Ghost Rider if you need further proof.
