  1. I think 100 is a fair approximate number of regularly active POSTING members, if someone doesn't get one through the forum, at least the opportunity was there, no different than being the person in line at a con just after the last promo was handed out, right? I wish you would at least consider it as an option, maybe try it once and see how it goes. I think we would obviously set some ground rules for participating, the easiest would be to only allow members in good standing with pre-existing positive trade feedback. We would be able to police accounts pretty easily. As for other boards being upset....I'm not concerned about other boards. Let us worry about the distribution, and I promise you we will make it work in a way that is fair for all active members. The only thing I feel I am obligated or entitled to is a fair chance to collect a toy line I have supported for 10 years. The only true, fair, impartial way to decide is to have everyone interested put their name in a drawing. Any other way, and people will claim favoritism, because that's what it will look like. Not everyone posts a lot, not everyone trades, not everyone is online 24/7. A drawing would be the only fair way.
  2. With no printed details on the gold vorin, it can easily be had for the price of a regular vorin and a can of Krylon gold paint. Honestly, that one really holds no interest for me, but I really hope to score a clear blue one sometime.
  3. They might not have been my choices to win, but the fact that we were even given choices really still makes this a pretty special wave. I don't know any other company that will make an entire wave based on fan voting. One figure maybe, but not an entire wave. I think that puts to shame most of the other companies out there, especially the ones that barely listen to fans. Still keeping my fingers crossed for CapWolf somewhere down the road though!
  4. I'm loving it! Which really stinks that the toy line is dead now, with so many new introductions and designs. As far as if they will go back 5 years to the "present", well with the introduction of who knows? (I put it in spoiler in case you or someone hadn't gotten to that episode yet.) Now if there were only an easy way to get a complete YJ 6" Kid Flash...
  5. This has the potential to be a great SyFy channel movie!
  6. I second this. As a new reader, I've only gotten past 50 or so issues. After all the depressing stuff that happened up to that point, I had to take a break and read something uplifting, so I read Preacher. Now I have to get back to WD to catch up, and I've been avoiding potential spoilers up to this point.
  7. Booya! I called FF wave with Puppet Master and Moloids. It's Clobberin Time! Me too (minus the puppet master & blaastar)!
  8. So did mine. I wonder if it's all of them.
  9. That's awesome on SO many levels!
  10. Wow, that's unexpected. Is this what DC Direct evolved into?
  11. Without the vehicles, I think it would be lost on a lot of people. I think that's what made the show and vintage toyline stand out.
  12. True, but I actually had been wanting a second Hawkeye set, so the discount was much appreciated.
  13. Pretty sure I read that it's a foot longer than the retail version.
  14. Thanks for the link! Is it just me, or does Hulk's forearm armor resemble Juggernaught's ? Also, who's the floating robot head with the SHIELD logo? I can't help but think the mentioned Red Skull storyline would require a much larger mutant population for it to really work...
  15. Is that what happens when Phoenix gets her chocolate in Scarlet Witch's peanut butter? I think we're looking at the after effects of the as yet unknown ending of AvX(which I haven't read yet).
  16. I don't have any massive amount of troops, but I do tend to have a little ocd about having even numbers. So I keep a running tally of mine handy so I can check whenever I get the urge to acquire more. Yes, the odd numbered ones bug me. Troop builders (current quantity) • AIM Soldier (Wave 25) - 7 (missing 1 big gun) • S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent (Wave 27 Ultimates) - 2 • Skrull (Wave 28) - 7 (missing 1 holster/gun) • Hydra Agent (Wave 29) - 8 • Vault Guard (Wave 30) - 7 • Multiple Man (Wave 31) - 2 • Kree Soldier (Wave 32) - 8 • Sentinel (Wave 33) - 4 • Hellfire Club Guard (Wave 34) - 10 (missing 1 gun) • Hammer Drone (Wave 35) - 6 • Hammer Drone (Battle Damaged) (Iron Man 2 Single Packs) - 1 • Tactical Assault Drone (Iron Man 2 Single Packs) - 4 • Sea Assault Drone (Iron Man 2 Single Packs) - 4 • Air Assault Drone (Iron Man 2 Single Packs) - 4 • Ground Assault Drone (Iron Man 2 Single Packs) - 4 • Dreadnought (Wave 36) - 6 (+1 incomplete) • Doombot (Wave 37) - 4 • Hand Ninja (Wave 38) - 6 • Frost Giant 1 (Wave 39, Thor Single Packs) - 6 • Frost Giant 2 (Thor Single Packs) - 4 • Asgardian Guard (Thor Single Packs) - 9 • Hydra Infantry (Wave 40, Captain America Single Packs) - 4 • Hydra Soldier (Captain America Single Packs) - 4 • Hydra Flame Trooper (Captain America Single Packs) - 4 • Hydra Pilot (Captain America Single Packs) - 4 • Nimrod (Wave 41) - 2 • Kronan Stone Man (Wave 42) - 6 • Atlantean Soldier (Marvel Minimates - Toys R Us Two Packs (Wave 8)) - 2 (1 missing helmet) • SHIELD Agent (Wave 43) - 8 • Kree Sentry (Wave 44) - 6 • Chitauri Footsoldier (Wave 45) - 8 • Chitauri General (Wave 45) - 6 • Sentinel (Marvel Vs. Capcom Minimates TRU Wave 2) - 4 • Super Skrull (Marvel Vs. Capcom Minimates Series 2) - 2 • Lizard (SWAT) Trooper - (Wave 46, The Amazing Spider-Man movie) - 4
  17. I wonder how expansive the license is. The new toon brought the Tiger Sharks into the universe. Could they be brought into these? Not that I really have any affinity for Tiger Sharks, but more Battle-Beast-esque minimates, the better! I say bring on more classic toons. D&D, Star Blazers, Bionic Six and Filmation Flash Gordon would top my personal list.
  18. As much as I'd love another transparent Battle Beast, I'm really hoping it's just a preview of a wave 1 figure, like they've done in the past with MAX figures, and not something new. Tracking them down afterwards just gets frustrating at times.
  19. These are fantastic and a dream line I'd love to see! An idea for LaForge's Visor - would the visor from the Playmates figure work? If I can find mine tonight, I'll have to see.
  20. Well, there's Disney Toy Story, Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO sets, but none of their flagship properties that I can think of. While I would be 100% all in for Disney minimates, I think they would probably see LEGO as more of a proven retail moneymaking workhorse, if they had to choose. I think it would all come down to how minimates were presented to Disney (or any major company) as a viable profit machine that retains the integrity of their license. The continued success of Marvel is a big step in that direction.
  21. I could see the wrestling minimates as having potential. Very expansive, and a wide appeal. As long as I get a Macho Man/Elizabeth 2-pack and an Andy Kaufman/Jerry Lawler 2-pack with stretcher, I'm in. Throw in a Sgt. Slaughter/Roddy Piper SDCC pack and it's gold. For Disney, they just seem to have so many versions of so many characters of so many different style toy lines, that I don't know where minimates would fit in. I think they'd be fantastic, but a drop in the toy bucket for them, which would easily get neglected at retail. Now if Disney narrowed it down a bit to say, Pixar characters, and made them in exclusive specific movie themed 4-packs available in Disney stores, parks and online, then it may be a good start to enter that world.
  22. The reason I wouldn't want to see Marvel minimates in Walmart or even Target again is the assortments. Target always had different mixes that duplicated one new figure with one I already had. And you better believe if Walmart carries them, every single assortment will have Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wolverine. Will they sell? Probably. But I think direct market already gives us a fair share of duplicates and heavy hitters. The exception I could see would be movie waves. Maybe we'd actually get some of those missing characters (I'm looking at you Hogun, Fandrall and Heimdall…) if Walmart or Target carried waves and wanted exclusives like TRU to compete. As far as another big license to bring in the general populace? Well, right now there's not too many bigger than Avengers, and we have those. As a matter of fact, they've been sold out at my TRU for a while now. Marvel's pretty expansive and if that's not big enough, then I don't know what would be with the exception of the DC big hitters. As much as I'd love G.I. Joe minimates, I doubt it would be successful, given the failed attempt of Combat Heroes. Lord of the Rings minimates, as awesome as they could be, and I'd buy every single one, would be hard pressed to compete with the LEGO sets at retail. Same goes for Star Wars. An all encompassing Star Trek line at retail may actually have the best chance - as long as it's not competing with an action figure line simultaneously. But there would have to be vehicles and a playset. Toy fans, Trek fans and minifigure fans all would probably be in for a Trek line, covering all iterations of the series and movies. I'd actually love a Star Trek line of minimates like that, at all retailers...
  23. I remember taking this before and getting a perfect score. Which is a good thing being in Graphic Design for over 20 years. Color theory, color correcting, photoshop, illustrator, color balance, design, prepress, photography, have been a part of my entire adult life. I consider it a blessing to still be able to differentiate between like colors after so long.
  24. It really seems like a great companion line to Battle Beasts as well. They could almost come from the same universe, considering the different "animal-humanoid-warriors" they both sport.
