  1. Spotted the new C3 sets in TRU while hunting for Kre-O GI Joe Wave 3. I would never have guessed that C3 would return. The motorcycle looks like it would fit most Minimates. Link to Wal-mart. And I just noticed the thread way down below. Feel free to delete this thread.
  2. Believe it or not, but I think Wolverine has been most neglected. Specifically, Wolverine villains: 10. Donald Pierce 9. Ogun 8. Cyber 7. Romulus 6. Bloodscream 5. Professor Thorton 4. Wendigo 3. Gorgon 2. Silver Samurai 1. Dr. Rot
  3. I was on board with the various campaigns for Kang, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Rocket Racoon, Batroc, etc. And I note all now have Minimates or upcoming Minimates (although RR and Batroc are movie versions). But the lack of Toad is killing me. Debuted in comics in 1964. Debuted on TV in 1981. Debuted on film and in video games in 2000. His Minimates design even debuted on the original Marvel Minimates poster in 2003. Toad will even be in this year's X-men movie. We...are...so...close... Back on topic: This X-men wave looks really cool.
  4. Ahhh. Got it. I guess he's busy with other projects. IMDb says the movie was released on August 8th, 2013. And it's only 16 minutes long. Weird. I thought this was going to be a series of ad funded free web episodes. Am I remembering correctly that a character in the movie was going to be a Minimates collector?
  5. Ok, thanks. I didn't see that. I thought the artwork was done way back in 2012. I could have sworn I saw pictures of artwork long ago.
  6. Given that I've been out of the loop on Minimates for while, anyone care to catch me up on these? I've kinda figured they aren't out yet. Was the movie made? If so, where can I watch it? The link to the movie on the website doesn't work. I get a 404 error. Why is the http://www.agent88films.com/ website filled with broken image links? The links on this site for a company featured on agent88films doesn't work either. What's going on? http://studiofunhouse.com/ For those that saw the movie, was it any good? Assuming it was made in the first place. Anyone have a red Agent88 promo they can part with? I don't think I ever got my hands on one. Has DST had any comment? Didn't someone pay like a thousand dollars for a one-of-a-kind hand-made by Digger custom? Any pictures of that one? Sorry if these have been answered in this thread, I dug through all 42 pages and didn't find any answers.
  7. Thanks for all the good wishes last year, gents. I've been away from the hobby for awhile but I have boxes and boxes of unopened goodness from Luke.
  8. Who are the characters? (I haven't read too much of the comic). I recognize the Governor, Lori, and Michone.
  9. I bought the Grey Hulk/Rhino 2-pack at Tower Records in late 2004. I hadn't read a comic book in over ten years. After opening the pack and fiddling with them, I was instantly hooked. I had a powerful wave of nostalgia for my junior high and high school days of collecting comic books. I credit Minimates for giving me a new hobby, meeting cool people on the forums, learning how to use eBay, reading comics again, and endless hours of enjoyment. The DC Minimates led me to start reading DC Comics which I had never really done since I'm a Marvel nut. I consider myself a "completist" opener. This means I buy series like Halo that I have no knowledge of and no experience with playing the video games. I appreciate the pop culture aspect of these and any kid or man-nerd instantly recognizes them. I think my completism will end as soon as Agent 88 arrives though unless I can get them all in a good deal. The price for getting all of these along with it being an unknown property that I have no connection with limits my desire to spend a lot of money on them. To me they are kinda cool as "Diggers Minimates" and I ordered a bunch of ninjas, but that's it so far. I said the same thing about Goth Girl but I ended up picking her up on eBay so who knows.
  10. Is anyone using the IKEA Klingsbo glass cabinet for Minimates? I like that it is lockable as I'm thinking about putting it in my office at work. It has some of the best reviews on Amazon. I can't really figure out what the bottom shelf is for other than stability. What is the pattern on the bottom shelf? I'm probably going to have to assemble it over a weekend or my co-workers are going to wonder what the hell I'm doing. Lastly, I'm a bit concerned that the Minimates will look tiny on the shelves without some type of platforms or something. Any ideas?
  11. Personally, I'd prefer comic accurate versions of the Warriors Three. Here's how to make it happen: Thor 2 blows away the box office. Stores sell out of understocked Thor toys. Thor 3 goes into works. DST makes comic set to compliment Thor 3 release. Simple.
  12. I'm not in the loop on all things Minimates but when did Lost in Space hit stores? I thought it was only SDCC exclusive. Does this mean that sales at the Con could have performed better? Or was the color set solicited in Previews without enough pre-orders from retailers? I think these looked cool. Would more retailers have pre-ordered if they were grouped in a "sci fi classics" assortment? Throw in a Flash Gordon 2-pack, Twilight Zone 2-pack, and a Metaluna Mutuant 2-pack. Edit: By the way, my responses to any lack of Minimates sales is always - make more Minimates! I would be terrible at this business and bankrupt the company in a heartbeat.
  13. I think that's already been debunked. Really?!?! Now I am excited. I can't help but think of the following in this order: 1. Masters of the Universe - Eons ago when AA still owned Minimates, I was at a Con talking to Adam Unger. He said he was talking to a rep from Mattel who advised him that Art Asylum should go all in with making only Minimates. This was a long time ago but I remember thinking how cool it was that a big toy company knew of and respected the Minimates brand. I believe TBT was with me so he can back me up or shoot me down. After seeing Icon Heroes Castle Grayskull, I have hopes that Icon Heroes can pull off MOTU Minimates. 2. Walking Dead TV Show - The comic versions have been a smash hit. I think it's a given we will see a series based on the show at some point. 3. Star Wars - This would be a seismic event. An honest-to-God earthquake would strike SDCC. I theorize it won't be the following: 1. Return of DC Minimates - This will be a *new* line so I don't think DC qualifies. Plus, DC movies have been weak. Weak interest with high license costs = no. 2. GI Joe - The Kreons seem to preclude GI Joe. Plus, GI Joe movies have been weak. Weak interest with high license costs = no. 3. Planet of the Apes - I'm on the fence with this one. If DST got the license for a good deal, then maybe. But I don't see TRU quickly selling out of these. It's a big gamble in an area packed with eclectic merchandise from old movies, horror, and video games.
  14. My money is on the big, new line being Aliens.
  15. They have. I give you, Poo-tato. These aren't Hasbro or Mattel but they are Moose Entertainment, makers of all the Angry Birds stuff you see everywhere. You can pick up your Poo-tato at any TRU.
  16. I'm using as SHEILD agents. Yes, Ahnold, Chuck Norris, Stallone, Terry Crews, Stone Cold, Bruce Willis, Statham, Dolph Lundgrem, Jet Lee, Jean Claude, Rourke, Eastwood, Hugh Jackman, and Rick Moranis all report to Agent Coulson. Moranis has difficulty keeping up but he's indispensable when it comes to filing the travel reimbursement forms.
  17. It'd be kinda cool if we could get a summary of all the new Minimates shown pinned as a new thread. It's kinda hard to tell what everything is from the photos alone. I see little cards with names of waves and anticipated release dates but I can't tell what they are. I'm assuming Munsters have gone the way of Universal Monsters? What's going on with that Hulk? Is it from a comic?
  18. I assumed they were all alternate realities given the eXiles and Deadpool Corps. One could presumably leave one reality and show up in another as Dark Beast did (coming from AoA reality to 616 continuity).
  19. I think versions of the characters depicted from the "Pym-less" Universe would be compelling. Here are the ramifications of Pym's death prior to creating Ultron according to Bendis.
  20. I finished Age of Ultron on my recent plane ride, so I'll guess AoU. For those who did not read:
