  1. Thank you! Finally, someone who got the levels of Defcon correct! I get tired of telling people "Nonono, Defcon 1 is the highest. Defcon 5 is the lowest. In all honesty I had to look it up before posting. I hate being wrong.
  2. Mine looks a little darker than undeadpool's. Maybe it's just odd reflections? Iron Man
  3. I don't see anywhere in the rules that wearing a fursuit wouldn't be an acceptable entry. Of course adding armor to make it a Battle Beast suit might get expensive or uncomfortable. ... and totally awesome!
  4. And with a golden ticket, it's a gollll-den dayyyyyyyy Picked this up in the western U.S. last night. (Not quite the coast though.) So if I remember right this is the response chart for factory production errors: One Sighting: Fluke. Two Sightings: Coincidence. Three Sightings: OMGZ!! Full Blown Exclusive Variant!! Go directly to Defcon 1! Fire all torpedoes! Full panic mode! Mass hysteria! Gotta have it, now, now, now! Rawr!
  5. Ooooh, Minimares. I have some domain names to register.
  6. I'll just leave this here I guess. You are getting very sleepy...
  7. Is there a shop nearby that sells big-boy pants?
  8. Not anymore. I can dig it. I wonder if Chuck understands Jive? Maybe we can make an all Jive Q&A.
  9. I don't think it matters too much, just so they are all in the same Q&A session. I'm having a bit of difficulty with my question. It feels too cliche. Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
  10. Que? Here's the accessory page. Without having the pieces in front of me I can't say for sure, but it certainly looks like it is the same as Wave 41/TRU 11 and Villains/TRU 2 molded in black.
  11. How quickly we forget... How quickly we forget... It was a mere year ago that we learned that customizers were not immoral wretches for dismembering then reassembling poor defenseless Minimates. The Great Chuck taught us that Minimate souls are made of sterner stuff. And the adding of foreign materials does not make a Minimate a lesser toy. It was a time of rumbling among the denizens. Minimate fans grew weary of the repetitive and unbeguiling nature of the Ask DST Q&A sessions. So it was decreed that in order to save our fair kingdom The Day of Minimate Inquisition must be created. Where all shall go to the mighty webform and submit a question of unrivaled excellence. Where curiosity can be sated. Where desires can be fulfilled. The time approaches again! Forum members to your thinking places! Craft mighty posers to flex the minds of the DST elite! The keys to our collective future lie in your mushy, mushy brains. So say we all.
  12. Speaking of... no MMDB joke this year? Yes, I was disappointed to not see something from Ivan this year either. Or did we? No sorry, nothing this year. Three year streak broken. I've been backed up lately with a handful of side projects in and out of the Minimate world. That's also the reason why the site hasn't been updated in the last two months. (Although an update is due in the next day or two. )
  13. Weirder things have happened. Bella, what's the wave code on the back of the package? It's usually something like MM43 (for Marvel Minimates wave 43) or MVCTRU2 (for Marvel vs. Capcom at TRU wave 2).
  14. I think I can oblige. Length: 37.5 mm Depth: 1.9 mm Width: 11.1 mm You said you wanted exact, but this is a cheap Harbor Freight caliper so I wouldn't trust the measurements past the tenth of a mm.
  15. Thanks hellpop. Although I'm sure someone out there will take exception to my poorly researched shotgun.
  16. Aww man, double post, I suck. The '2003 Blanks' series is finished for now. They're all on the front page of Minimate Labs where you can get larger versions. Clicking an embedded image below will take you to the specific post (with the larger image). Blue: Red: Yellow: (Green is in the previous post.) Any criticism is welcome.
  17. Heh, after seeing Mad Man in the subtitle I was expecting to see a Minimate Don Draper.
  18. Not to condone the actions, but smaller websites are simply easier targets. The sites aren't hardened either because of inexperience or a (perceived) lack of risk. Just because small sites are not handling money or user accounts doesn't mean they're not a target. The users' computers are what they are ultimately after. If they can infect a user, that's one more computer in their botnet that they control. It can then be used for many different activities. The world isn't run by weapons anymore, or energy, or money. It's run by little ones and zeroes, little bits of data. It's all just electrons.
  19. This one is a surprise to me. I'm going to have to venture into the catacombs to retrieve one of the 4-packs and set up an M.Bison photoshoot. There probably isn't any grand reason for the different colors or the paint vs. plastic production. The first is price, one way is cheaper than the other and DST has to make cost/quality decisions to hit a certain price point. The other reason is that the factory may not always do what they're told, due to negligence or trying to boost their margin however possible. (Take this for what it's worth. Like others in this thread I have no insider knowledge of the toy business.) And Urban Saboteur, I'm sorry to hear the Minimate Database does not meet your expectations. (Nobody tell him about the different torsos or knee constructions.)
  20. The '1P' and '2P' on the packaging is decorative only. It doesn't refer to the Minimates inside. If you look at all the Street Fighter two packs and box sets, the '1P' is always on the left and '2P' is always on the right. It's just a design choice, not a description.
  21. I've posted a bunch of stuff in the last couple weeks at Minimate Labs, so I guess it's time to bump this sucker. Latest is the first in a new series of renders, "2003 Blanks: Green".
  22. They're not exactly stop motion... but this seems like a good place to pimp my Minimate animation wares. Youtube channel Recent videos:
  23. Thanks. Actually, this one had a pretty quick turnaround compared to other projects. There's lots of reuse here. I didn't have to make any new models, I just re-skinned the MAX Jet and Pilot from the Top Gun Animation. While the initial time investment for those models was large, reuse is cheap.
