  1. Thanks for the welcome everyone; it's nice to actually participate in one of the most active and passionate messageboards on the 'net. I don't know about the other lurkers but I'm over here trying to find fewer light colors for my shirts and pondering a haircut. Pretty sure the dangerous combination of a pale blue BttF shirt and my luxurious locks are what caused the "miss" but Zach caught on when he saw me looking behind me for the "girl in blue". Ironically, I was the one asking about female SHIELD agents that Zach wondered if the current male SHIELD 'mate had enough definition to pass as one.
  2. Yeah, I'm a little reluctant to include any Ultimate designs with a Through the Ages boxset but the Ultimate Comics look is probably his most distinct outfit this side of the newest one. I agree about Aja though as he's just stripping down a costume that's been depicted differently by every artist who has drawn it so far. I think it's too new to be in Marvel's style guide or something as you see different elements fade in or out depending on who the artist is. I'm not even sure when it first appeared as he just showed up in Avengers Academy wearing it during one issue. I agree hellpop, the Lopez/Heroic Age outfit; it looks great and was sorely underused. I'll cop to enjoying the Nicieza Hawkeye book mostly because I thought Fabian had a great grip on the character as shown in Thunderbolts; the actual stories were a little too low-key and it ended up feeling like 100 Bullets meets Nomad or something but it's nice he tried something different even if it didn't work out. 'The high hard shaft' is a title that invites people to make jokes about it though. Hawkeye's most recent series wasn't my favorite despite having that nice David Lopez art. Jim McCann is a great person, extremely friendly and enthusiastic in person (one time he gave me directions to Dan Slott's table in an artist's alley), but something about the book didn't click for me and I didn't pick it up past the ending of the Phantom Rider arc. Going further off topic, Fraction is a very funny guy but his books have been hit or miss for me. I find Defenders tries too hard to show off references to how crazy 70's Marvel was and Fear Itself was a weak event overall where even the part I liked the most, Thor being remembered by no one but kid Loki, was kind of abandoned quickly. The first two issues of the new Mighty Thor didn't grab me either and that whole first story ended up being an elaborate excuse to de-herald the Silver Surfer so he could be in the Defenders. I like Casanova though and his work on Immortal Iron Fist with Brubaker is just as great as everyone says. Going back though, Clint's kind of hit the Wolverine/Spider-Man level of saturation right now as, of last count, he is in: Avengers, Avengers Academy, Secret Avengers and his upcoming solo series. He's also going to be in an arc of the post-Brubaker "Captain America and..." book so now's the perfect time to take advantage of the character's popularity. I've been a Hawkeye fan for years and, outside of kicking it in Avengers Disassembled, this is the most talk I've heard about the character, ever.
  3. I've been waiting with bated breath for the Marvel.com announcement; oddly enough, the site isn't loading properly right now so I'm going to blame Hot Toys Cap from Avengers for hogging all the attention. At least a hint about the release being a retailer 4-pack or a con one would be a nice way to relieve the pre-Avengers movie 'mate release tension. Gillbob, Toad got promoted to a semi-recurring character in Wolverine and the X-men recently so he's got a slightly higher profile now that he's the janitor at the Jean Grey institute. Well, as high a profile as a sight gag can get you, I guess. His look hasn't stayed consistent between appearances though Personally, I think a pair of boxsets with the classic Brotherhood and Mystique's 2.0 version from DoFP would be great; we got it with the Dark Avengers three years ago and AoA last year so it isn't unheard of. It's kind of weird to think about Kang finally being made after all these years of asking; the character is the best example of a meme in the minimates community as the campaign's probably been around for at least a third of the line's existence. I've got more memories of reading Kang posts than I do of Deadpool!
  4. Nice Hellpop! You even used the Barry Windsor Smith mini-skirt look that I couldn't even really remember the source of. I hadn't even considered the Avengers Forever look either and it even plays into how a few extra pieces can make an entirely different 'mate. I think the FA look would be neat to have as well but I would definitely want Black Widow in her original outfit to go with it. As ugly as that Nicieza Hawkeye on the bike cover is, I dug that series. Especially when he went shopping at a Wal-Mart in the sporting goods section for gear. I will note that the cover artist changed for almost every issue, so each cover basically has a different variation on a Hawkeye costume excusing the two that Scott Kolins did. Bringing up Kang and Songbird makes me wonder if they shouldn't do an Avengers Forever boxset; pretty much every look for an Avenger ever appears at the end of the story and it'd be a great chance to get both Kang and Immortus. Has anyone suggested a set for the Thing? At this point it could be made up entirely of looks we've gotten in the past that don't really fit with the modern style of doing larger characters (FF unitard with mask and alternate spiky parts for example). Also I'm going to throw a set I know is completely unlikely but I'd still love to have: Zemo through the Ages! To start with, you could have Heinrich Zemo New Thunderbolts Zemo and Modern Zemo with the longer loincloth from Brubaker's Captain America, that I can't find a picture of for some reason. Then alternately Helmut in his FA as the Phoenix or Harbin Zemo from Avengers/Thunderbolts There's also this badboy, but I don't think it actually ever appeared anywhere except on a cover I'd say Citizen V as well but I'd want them to save that for a Thunderbolts boxset(s) that I so desperately wish for. I'm also leaving out Helmut's normal outfit as I'd say that's the look of any Zemo most likely to appear as a 'mate anywhere despite only having a Secret Wars figure as prior merchandise.
  5. Hey everyone! After being a member for a few years, I've decided I should probably be a more active poster as a direct result of Zach initially thinking I was a girl at the C2E2 minimates panel this year. I've done a few trades in the past but had a pretty major lifestyle disruption in mid-2010 that really upset my ability to keep up with messageboards (all the other people at my job were shuffled off to different sections, leaving me to run a whole area by myself) and this was the last one to fall out of my sight. I've still kept up with minimates at retail though I did get behind on a few things (like BttF DeLoreans). I look forward to discussing what wild minor characters and costumes could make it into the Marvel line as well as trying to figure out who all the Tekken characters in the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken line all are. I've already posted in a few other threads but am still getting a grip on how to use the different forum tools, so bear with me if I have some huge images in a post.
  6. I'd would be all over this: Hawkeye's had enough costume changes to get us a solid set with some nice visual variety Neo-Modern Hawkeye Modern Hawkeye West Coast Avengers Hawkeye I'd really dig a pass at "regular" Hawkeye, though I don't know if I'd want it in the boxset That's not even using Ultimate Hawkeye, who has had two looks so far; admittedly one of them is very close to the modern/neo-modern look This is a variation on his first look which lacked any sort of color flourishes on the actual suit This is the outfit he wore in Ultimate Comics Avengers Typically when people alter something about Hawkeye's costume, the first thing they go for is his arms. Gauntlets vs. gloves, bare arms vs. sleeves etc... Mark Bagley had a version of the typical costume that I really liked, shown here in Thunderbolts during the reveal that he was disguised as Dreadknight There's also his 90's look which isn't my favorite but isn't the worst of the redesigns from the era either But there's a number of minor looks he's had too like this chainmail crazy version here that ditches the "loincloth" There's also the really ugly armored look from where Hawkeye got shot If they wanted to get really crazy though, they could work in "Hawkeye in disguise as Dreadknight" or Clint Barton Goliath into the set I'm sure I'm missing at least one major costume but if I was to pick four, I'd be selfish and say WCA Hawkeye (with extra set of bare arms to make either Thunderbolts Hawkeye or Heroic Age Hawkeye), "Modern" Hawkeye (which could come with an alternate headblock with the purple glasses people can't seem to decide if they'll give him or not) for sure. Since I think the odds of us getting them elsewhere would be slim, I say Clint Barton as Goliath and either 90's "Shaft" Hawkeye or ugly armored Hawkeye. I'd like to save the Ultimates designs for a two-pack since they're both pretty recognizable; I've never read any stories with them and I know what they both look like decently well. Neo-Modern Hawkeye is a simple enough design he could probably be a quick custom (most likely out of Movie Hawkeye) as long as we got a torso block.
  7. I'll chime in and say that the Peter head with the new 'Best of' Spidey/Green Goblin pack is actually one of the nicer ones they've done, though I think it needs a different hairpiece; it also has the benefit of being basically the same minimate as the classic heroic age release but with the benefit of no lighter colors around the neck area. Admittedly, you're trading completely even colors (and the underarm webs) for less overall web tampos on the costume, as they aren't on the back of his 'belt' or the insides of his ankles. Among previous heads, I think the one in the Classic Spidey/Shocker pack is decent though, again, I think it needs a new hairpiece. It definitely has the most character of the Peter heads we've been given though it also looks very cheerful; they've mixed things up by giving us an abnormal number of intense expressions for Peter underneath the mask. For non-official releases, I like the MAX Special Ops 2 though it may look a little old. It does have brown eyebrows and, though last I checked Peter's eyecolor was officially 'hazel', has brown eyes. I'd say the hair from the X-Men 1st Class Cyclops or the brown hairpiece from the MAX Search and Rescue pack look great as well.
  8. There's a long story to be told about the transition of major companies from WWC to C2E2 but it probably started in 2009 when the big two comic publishers had a massively reduced presence. There were actually promoters for C2E2 actively pushing the new-at-the-time con as the event that would outdo Wizard World. As someone's who has been to every C2E2 and WWC several times, I can say that the focus on the latter is definitely going to be media guests. That's not a bad thing though; WWC 2009 is one of my favorite cons ever as Dan Slott was there and the general attendance was such you could actually talk to some of the pros for a while without someone coming up to harass them for something like signing their 70 copies of Anti-Venom's 1st appearance. At one point, George Perez was even taking sketch requests at Hero Initiative and even gave out a few head sketches to some kids. I don't know if I'll ever go to a con like that again but it's true: the fun is where you find it there. Even if DST doesn't have a panel, there may be vendors with $5 minimates or such.
  9. That's "Murder at the Mansion" which was near the very end; Emma got better but that story always puzzled me because they used Bishop and Sage who had never even come close to appearing in Morrison's run. I like the New X-men run but I'm not going to say it's without problems, especially near the end. "Assault on Weapon Plus" is a little too busy as it throws tons of concepts at you with no followup whatsoever and "Planet X" was definitely a dramatic story but it threw a major wrench into Marvel continuity with an entire part of New York being turned into a death factory for humans. As one of the "final" X-men stories, the Magneto parts would have been great but as they were, it left a lot to be explained by other writers to varying degrees of success. "Here comes Tomorrow" is a really bizarre story but does have a lot of payoff for the entire run and I really like the concept of John Sublime. The Nu-Men were also a really cool idea. To make this on topic, my TRU just refreshed the Balder and Crossbones wave and stocked the 2nd set of MvC3. After Zach said that this wave is going to appear after the Avengers movie wave, my search has been a little less manic; I get the impression that it's probably going to show up in decent numbers since I don't think we've seen what TRU wave 15 (or is it 16?) yet.
  10. I'm digging the Cap mates! I really like how all inclusive the movie mates are getting as it really feels like no one is off the table. Sony stuff looks good but I'll probably only get the Uncharted ones for civilian fodder. MAX Van looks awesome! I wish they showed some new packs but if they just wanted to reissue the old ones I'd have no problem with it. That's interesting news about the next TRU wave. I guess Mr. Negative is from a wave we haven't seen yet? Calico Jack stuff looks amazing but availability is going to make or break them for me. If they're in TRU for 2/10 of a second the way the MAX packs were I'm not going to go out of my way to get them. Marvel and MAX already drive me up the wall as is. The idea of making my own line of Monkey Island minimates is tempting but I can't let it drive me totally crazy. Femme Fatales look fine but I don't have a huge interest in them. I'm hoping this doesn't mean that the theory about Medusa from the Inhumans being in the cards is untrue though.
  11. Went up to Cincinnati yesterday and had time to hit one TRU of the 3 I know in the area. Of course Cannonball/Shatterstar and Magik/Warlock were gone; the shiny "exclusive" stickers on them were too much for the local Flea Market Raiders to resist. Still they had about 7 or 8 Wolvy/Mags packs and from among them I was able to pick one that had something resembling straight eyes on Logan's mask. It's a much better pack than I was expecting that was for sure. Haven't gotten to really enjoy Magneto yet as removing the 'dark' head from his helmet may be the single most difficult task ever attempted by humankind. Seriously that helmet has a death grip on it that I haven't been able to break over the past day. I can't force the head on the torso block to pop get leverage to pop the head off; the spikes on the helmet jam in your fingers and the joint won't pop in the gap to save my life! Right now I'm freezing the torso block and getting ready to boil the head/helmet. Hopefully that will do it. The fact that these are lasting on the TRU site for less than the average sellout of a figure on Mattycollector is really irritating. My store doesn't seem capable of restocking ANY minimates that aren't Halo and it looks bleaker every day. We had one shipment of MAX that when I came back the next day after getting paid were completely gone. Not a peep of Marvel since the first shipments of the FF wave. We did get about 20 of the Cap packs but they actually sold all of them! Surprising considering that the only 'mates I've seen sell to kids are the Ghostbusters ones.
  12. That Green Goblin/Spidey pack is pretty inspired and I'm digging Nimrod/Sinister. I HATE the X-men packs though. Curse of the Mutants is already mostly forgotten and 'Age of X' just seems like a weird choice. I can swing with the Comic First Class mates but the lack of Beast is unsettling. Wouldn't it be great if they actually had a few SA X-villains to fight? For that matter if you wanted to do a really recent boxset, why not Dark X-men? At least we'd get Cloak and Dagger that way. Thor movie mates look to cover everybody which is great; I just really want a wave or 2 of comic Thor mates. Few supporting characters, couple of villains, Warriors 3 and Wrecking Crew boxsets *poof* you're done with Thor for a while. Same goes for Cap especially if it means Zemo and Crossbones. Thrilled to see the MVC3 mates. Be successful and open some doors! It's great to see anything BTTF or GB. Keep the brands alive DST! I'd just as soon banish the Halo stuff from the face of the Earth because it seems that whenever my TRU fills out the Marvel Mnimate reorder sheets for Marvel stuff they check 'Halo' instead. We're drowning in wave 1 with no end in sight, while the single Marvel peg is manned by an old Reed/Doom pack.
  13. I'm going to hope that it's option 2 since that would open up the Inhumans pack to being Triton, Gorgon, Karnak and Maximus. The latter I was worried would never squeeze in because he doesn't really have an exciting design. Not that I wouldn't mind more Inhumans but that would cover the big names. I always thought that an Inhumans set would be a con exclusive as well and at least 2 of those every year have to be X-themed. I can't really see a way they could 'untool' the snakes from that hairpiece so I agree that it's the Marvel version. Either way I'm thrilled to see even the barest hint that any Inhumans could be coming this year...
  14. Finally Dormammu! Fingers crossed the license will cover all the MVC games so we can get Shuma Gorath and Dr. Strange can actually have 2 villains to fight. *Edit*: Just found out Shuma Gorath is DLC for the game! Crazy that the Doc has yet to make an appearance as a playable character though. I'm a little disappointed that the Resident Evil characters aren't there in the control art but I imagine they're having to save something for later. Have they revealed all the secret characters yet? I thought Taskmaster was meant to be one of them but that's the last I've heard. Maybe this will inspire them to get the Capcom license proper so we can get a line of Mega Man mates and finish off the World Warriors (at least). Interesting theory about Medusa; I wonder, that if they do mean the Marvel version, who could potentially be in a femme fatale boxset with her? Probably a new Emma and maybe Scarlet Witch? The really obvious ones like Black Widow and Black Cat have had versions really recently so I'd like to think that takes them off the table.
  15. Beloved multi-title supporting character Henry Peter Gyrich! I actually made one just like Tenime did with his Val Cooper. I have pics somewhere but for now I remember my recipe was -T2 Motorcycle T-1000 Head -Armored Daredevil Hairpiece or Transformation Venom Eddie Brock hairpiece -Either a spare Red Skull Suit jacket -or 24 boxset 1 Jack Bauer Brown Jacket/arms over 24 boxset 2 George Mason torso. -OR 24 boxset 1 David Palmer with new hands. This looks PERFECT but I'm not good at repainting things and it's still the got the neck peg. I picked the Armored Daredevil hairpiece because I actually don't have Transformation Venom right now. HPG's been shown with clear glasses recently but in the early days of X-men and Avengers he had the frosted over Highway Patrol Shades that never let us see his eyes. Other characters we may not ever get? -Mojo -Stardust -Gabriel the Air-Walker -The Brood -Probably any of Hulk's Warbound from Planet Hulk and WW Hulk -The Supreme Intelligence -Eon -Eternity -Aegis and Tenebrous (from Annihilation) -The In-betweener -The Living Tribunal -The Headsman (from the Defenders) -Gorilla-Man or likely most of the Agents of Atlas -Red Ronin I'm sure there's tons of others; all these are just off the top of my head from recent stuff I've been enjoying. Maybe the Agents aren't such a longshot but I think Gorilla-Man would need a ton of new parts while also being their most recognizable character. It'd be a boxset to die for though, wouldn't it? Heralds of Galactus would be cool while they were at it...
  16. Yeah I was referring to the Byrne origin issue, which was covered further in depth pretty recently in the Books of Doom limited series by Ed Brubaker. I can't lie I was kind of hoping for a single scar Doom or even a completely unscarred Victor head to make a fun flashback setup. The fight over the scars has always been interesting to the point where I'm absolutely certain in the early days of the internet I saw a Kirby sketch of what Doom looked like without the mask. I'm a fan of all the looks though most artists these days show there being intense burn marks through the slits on Doom's mask whenever he's got an extreme closeup. BTW the 'mates were in the Lexington KY TRU. Forgot to mention it!
  17. Surprisingly these turned up pretty early in their release cycle at my TRU; usually we're the last to get something like this. I'm impressed overall by this wave though the I think the duds are definitely Namor and the Atlantean Soldier. In fact, my pack didn't come with the Cable gun and the soldier's chest armor was warped pretty badly. I think he'd be better if not just for the solid black pants. Maybe they could've retooled Skarr's loincloth? Namor's got an odd expression but the wings are a cool addition. I do wonder why they didn't use the belt from the Defenders box though. Thing's a little goofy but it's a look that hasn't been done before and the big boots do add a little more height to him. Weirdly the rock tampo doesn't go all the way around the back of his head or the insides of his arms. Torch is a nice update though I wish he came with a normal head, chest and hairpiece! It'd be cool to have a completely normal Johnny, maybe the single most ignored FF character variant outside of normal Ben Grimm. Sue's great and the free flight stand's a great bonus but the Mole Man is really hard to stand. I do wish he had a more modest cape though; are there any frayed capes out there they could've reused? Reed's probably the best update wise though I too wish he had the stretch arms in this color. I think 1st appearance Doom's the winner of the wave though; he's got a unique look, a cool new pistol, some clever reuse and what I think is the best head of any Doom they've done. One downside is it doesn't have the black 'hood' behind the mask so anyone hoping to do a quick Kristoff custom still have a little work to do. It's funny with the alternate head though, they talk about how Doom only had one scar from his accident and the alternate portrait is the Hamburger head. Admittedly the retcon of the hot mask burning him is a lot to go into on the packaging but what are you going to do? That being said, the alternate head is not a reuse of Deadpool though I wish the tampo went all the way around his head since I don't think ol' Vic's got any hair now. I think overall these turned out great despite a few minor annoyances and the disappointment of the Atlantean soldier. Hopefully they do well enough to get some more FF characters like Annihilus, Ronan or Firelord.
  18. I too think they're a double edged sword. It's a good chance to get figures like Lockjaw or Klaw but at the same time they're a pain in the ass to find and it completely screws anyone that doesn't have a TRU near them. It'd be better if TRU.com wasn't such an awful site for shipping and availability but even then I don't know if they do mail internationally. I like the preorders because we never got the first wave of TRU mates locally (in fact I found them on a random daytrip to another city and had no clue they were coming out) and I never saw them stock the Secret Wars boxset despite a peg being put up for it in the recent reset. I like that the figures are getting more exposure to kids but as these get more popular I think they need to look at the case ratios better. Right now my TRU has a solid peg of slime blower Ray, 4 Venkmans and 2 each of Janosz and the Mayor. We've got about 15 each of Stiltman and Dynamo and I have no clue if them sticking around is going to affect the availability of the next wave; they may think from these that the brand isn't selling from the marvel side and reduce their orders, thereby making the FF wave a beast to find. I have hope that they'll clearance as we've NEVER gotten so much of a single wave before, not even close.
  19. Parts reuses they may be but I have to say they overall look really good! I'm surprised by this and I too hope it means that it indicates we may get a wave or two out of the FF; right now a movie seems like an impossibility since Fox can't get their act together and everyone else has to wait for the rights to expire so it's all the other marvel franchises having liftoff in that respect really worked out in our favor. We're going to have a ton of Avengers, X-men and Spidey mates for the next two years so it's nice to squeeze in something without a movie tie-in for the near future. As for the concept of chase figures, I think it's always been pretty moronic. I don't buy anything that I haven't been planning to already so it's always been "get in and get out" in that respect. Besides until recently my TRU barely stocked anything new period so the chances of that happening were even slimmer! Chase figures and variants don't make you buy more, they just make you look harder and do things like run to every Wal-mart in town at 2 in the morning so you can be there when they open cases.
  20. How about UHF? It could be: George (Weird Al Yankovic) R.J. Fletcher (Kevin Mccarthy) Stanley (Micheal Richards) Pamela (Fran Drescher) Crazy I know, but I can dream right? I'm also with Escape from New York and Big Trouble in Little China as well as the Thing remake though it would require some unique tooling unusable for anything else with the parkas and the monster pieces. It'd be fun though, especially since they're apparently working on a prequel next year... Though it's not 80's a Kick-Ass boxset just screams to be made especially since it would let us get some fun goons if they did 2 of them. I also think the Harry Potter mates would set the world on fire. I don't get any merchandise from the franchise but I know people who do and they're quite put out the quality control and slowness of the NECA figures as well as the character selection.
  21. Video game figures are decently popular it seems though right now my TRU has several on clearance like Dante's Inferno and some of the first wave of Bioshock 2. But Halo seems to be a consistent seller for Mcfarlane as it's one of the few toy lines they continue to make new product for. Both TRU and Target have Halo exclusives (in fact every retailer has had one at some point it seems; I remember an FYE exclusive once upon a time) and there's a billion minor variations involved in the line what with all the different helmets, armors and colors so there's a lot of return markets for guys who want to have a figure version of everyone in their clan. That's why it's one of the few lines available in two major scales that continues to do well in both. What's that mean for Target getting 'mates again? I have no clue. I'm scared of exclusives, though I've survived with the TRU ones so far despite having to get a few over the internet (Swordsman, Secret Wars boxset). I do remember a while ago how Target was going to have Marvel exclusives though what they were I can't quite recall. I do know one of them was going to be Iron Spidey and the Green Goblin that eventually ended up in the Civil War and Villains box sets respectively. Though I'd jump at the chance if it gave me a shot at some more army builders. Only one LCS carries minimates, pretty much just because of me and my best friend so if I could get more AIM or Hydra, I'd be glad to see a wave at retail. Hopefully not anymore exclusives though unless it was an exclusive with Guardsman and Multiple Man or Kree and Skrull...
  22. Ah that Jack 'O' Lantern is Maguire Beck a.k.a. Mad Jack. She was Mysterio's niece (I think) who was involved with Danny Berkhart a.k.a. Mysterio II. That was revealed in the Mysterio Manifesto L.S. (which had awesome Lee Weeks art) mostly to wrap up a lot of the dangling plot threads in Spec. Spidey before John Byrne came to wreck up the place later. Believe it or not Mad Jack was initially going to be Jacob Conover (a reporter for the Daily Bugle) but he was revealed to be the newest incarnation of the Rose in Amazing Spidey first. The post-clone pre-byrne stuff is quite interesting, isn't it? Anyway there's been at least 3 Jacks I can remember off the top of my head. The first was Jason Macendale who became Hobgoblin II, which was the version that ended up creating Demogoblin. Then there was the one in Captain America who partnered with Blackwing. I don't know who he turned out to be but I do know that was the version bumped off in Civil War (who later popped up in Incredible Hercules, which is/was a great book btw). Then there's Mad Jack who was either both Berkhart and Maguire alternating or just Maguire. I'm a little fuzzy on it. But see DST? This is a character and costume with LEGACY. Mad Jack was quite popular back in the day even with the retcon to make 'Maguire' the character's identity and not that of their cat who they always carried around. And to keep it on topic with 'mates, how about a mail away every other wave? Buy 6 packs get a new minimate. That way we could get reissues like Carnage and supporting characters that only totally insane people like me want. There's enough tooling of guys in suits to do characters like JJJ, Robbie Robertson, Ned Leeds, Roderick Kingsley (who let's face it should be the alternate look for a new Hobgoblin minimate. I have the old one but his cowl, boots and glider need updating. Was that the only place they used his cowl piece?), John Jameson, Jarvis whatever. Plus tampos could be done for characters like Flash Thompson and the like. Remember the mail away figures for the Simpsons or more recently the Star Wars ones like Nahdarr Vebb? Maybe like that model. Anyway I'm going to go work on my Henry Peter Gyrich custom...
  23. Aw crap! I knew I forgot somebody in the Syndicate and it had to be Speed Demon. That's especially bad on my part since he was in the new Tbolts for a minute too so he'd go forward in completing two groups. In fact I think at this point they should make them as a boxset with an updated Rhino with optional pieces to make the purple armor he sported for a while. While I'm at it the Big Man and the Enforcers could be another boxset with parts to make Frederick Foswell. There's enough mob guys to make a set of them too! It could be -the Crime Master -Silvermane -Hammerhead -Dr. Jonas Harrow That's definitely dreaming but maybe we could pawn them off as Punisher foes when the inevitable next version comes out...
  24. I think the character underneath Menace is Freak who appeared in one of the first Bob Gale Brand New Day Stories. The guy with the Spidey Mask may be the Spider Tracer killer but I'm not sure. Far left character is definitely Vermin. Who's the guy next to Hammerhead? This poster mostly makes me wish for more supporting characters to be made. That and a redo of the Chameleon much less JJJ. Speaking of Vermin I definitely agree on these choices. He's a must as is his creator Baron Zemo (technically a Cap baddie but I'll take him anyway I can get him)! -Frogman: good guy now but started as a foe; plus he compliments the White Rabbit and Walrus combo. I'm surprised to see them mentioned so early but there are obviously fans of the Defenders and 90's Spec. Spidey run by DeMatteis here! -Grizzly: another fun member of the Legion of Losers who's popped up in T-bolts lately as a more serious character. From what I understand anyway. -Spot: I think he'd look awesome. Great character with a very entertaining history Gibbon: Round out the LOL (wonder if that was intentional in retrospect) with him. Perfect boxset, you can even include a Baghead Spidey -Groovy Dan Jurgens 90's Mysterio: A very different look and though not as good as the classic I still like it. Besides Reilly Spidey needs bad guys so pack him with Armada and you're good to go. Or with outrageous 90's cybernetic Hobgoblin! -Rocket Racer: Minimate skateboard! -Demogoblin:A bizarre remnant of the Inferno storyline that stuck around for ages until getting offed right before the start of the Clone saga. He's got a neat look and would let DST use a number of parts like the claw hands, goblin boots, Moon night cowl and flame effects. Plus we'd get a new tattered cape and hopefully a fire glider. It's not a vehicle it's part of his powers! -Tombstone: Has he been mentioned yet? I can't remember. Cool outfit and I think his face would be a great fit for the MM style. He's got a Superhero Squad figure! -Kaine: One of the few parts of the clone saga that people really seem to enjoy still -Molten Man: Definitely! He's been around forever and has an interesting history as a baddie and later a supporting character. Remember when it was revealed he was related to Liz Allen? -Beetle: To me this is a gaping hole and would make a great variant with his original outfit. -Boomerang: Sinister Syndicate member that is completely not a take off of Captain Boomerang. Still, teams of bad guys are always fun and this is one of Spidey's more prominent ones from the past -Mendell Stromm the Robot Master: It's two figures in one! He's just a head now so you can have classic and modern in the same pack! -Looter: I want him simply for his outrageous facial hair. -The Red Ghost and his Super Apes!: They've fought Spidey! At least twice! Though one may not be in continuity... Anyway this would be a great use of Battlebeast parts as well as an awesome 4 pack -Scourge: He bumped off some of Spidey's d-listers back in the day plus Shocker had an intense phobia of him that played into his character for a while. -Swarm: Nessex is on the right track! Fanboys love zombies and nazis. Fritz here is a nazi zombie made of radioactive bees! For a while the greatest number of appearances he had were in Spidey books but that may have changed since lately he's been used as a scrub for a lot of random fights. I know one was in Runaways... -Batwing: No clue what he's doing now... Didn't he join the Initiative? Anyway a pseudo-foe from Untold Tales of Spider-man, this would let DST use those pieces they made for Manbat way back when -Headsman: Another UTOS foe, he's been in Thunderbolts lately. Just use the Moon Knight cowl, sculpt a cool new ax (that could be recycled for Terrax...) and make his flying device. As a bonus the FD could be used for... -Jack 'O' Lantern: ... the pogo platform that Jack here cruised around on. Another big gap, he's been through several incarnations and is probably the 'king' of B list Spidey villains since he's tied to a lot of stuff whether it be the first Hobgoblin, the 2nd Mysterio or the son of Silvermane, Blackwing. Those are all I can think of now but give me a day or two and I'm sure I can come up with some more...
  25. I got my SC Iron Man at TRU and he does have the runny red paint on his head. Crimson Dynamo had a little bit of it too but it doesn't seem to be quite as permanent. I'm glad someone's had recent trouble with the customer service department; I reached them at least 3 times for a few replacement parts over the space of year and never heard anything after sending my address. My Deadpool is still missing a machine gun, my Psylocke still needs a hand, Thanos needs a new head etc...
