Captain Paco

Oracle: Son of an unnamed nun and a fallen angel. Orson was raised in a convent by a nun who never shared her name with him and yet she told him to call her “mom”. He always felt he was more than what was around him. As a child, he could see the future of people when he would hold their hand or touch them. As he became teenager, he was now able to see in to people’s past as well as their future. He questioned “mom” who was very ill and in her last breathe she told him that an angel came to her and convinced her to have a child. The angel was to be the father and so she sinned. She kept to herself and was a loner, so the convent never noticed her pregnancy. Since the habit a nun wears is loose, she was able to keep the pregnancy hidden. She went to visit a sister convent but along the way she felt sick, as she was going into labor. She took refuse in a cabin in the woods she came upon. There was an older couple there that lived off the grid, so that couple helped deliver the child. The nun was in regular attire and so she did not get recognized as a nun and never said a word about being one. The nun felt blessed to have come across the couple in their cabin when she did. After a couple of days, the nun returned to her convent with the child. She told her Mother Superior that she was blessed to have found this child and that she felt it was her purpose to help raise the infant. Thus Orson was raised to love God and yet when he discovered his origins, he knew God gave him the gifts he has. As an adult, Orson now is able to fully control his gifts and they work with him simply looking at someone. He can also project a force-field to protect himself and anyone within ten feet of him.

Got a few photos to share. Scarlet Owl: Daughter of Scarlet Witch and Nite Owl Wanda Maximoff somehow transported to a universe with different heroes. While there were some that resembled her friends and family, there were many that were completely different. She tried every spell and incantation she could think of but could not seem to open a portal of any sort. Since she could not figure out how she got to this realm and thus how to get out, she settle down and tried to live a normal life. So she tried to fit in and live life. She met a nice guy, Daniel Dreiberg. He was a technological genius and attempted to blend in himself as he was really a superhero vigilante, known as Nite Owl. Daniel and Wanda fell in love and all the while they kept their secrets hidden from one another, until after they took their relationship to the next level. While in the heat of passion, Wanda somehow started to glow with a scarlet hue and Daniel was in shock. She then explained herself to him and he then admitted his alter ego. They then became a team and battled crime for a couple of years, until Wanda found out she was pregnant. She was trying to say something to Daniel but he found a means for her to get back home to her reality. So surprised to have the chance to return home, she took it but also he grabbed one of his cowls and capes and left Daniel forever. Nine months later, Wanda gave birth to Danielle Maximoff. Danielle was born with superior intellect and slightly muted powers that matched her mother’s. When she was old enough, she asked her mother about her father. Wanda told her everything and then presented the cowl and cape to Danielle. So Danielle took on the mantle of the Scarlet Owl. Danielle then modified the Nite Owl cowl and cape to go with a modified version of her mother’s costume. Lord Sol-Ar: lost son of Apollo and a nymph Sol-Ar was a child of the Greek God Apollo. He did not know his parents as shortly after his nymph mother gave birth she abandoned him with a shut-in lady and her lumberjack husband. Sol-Ar was named Solomon by this shut-in lady as he had a glow about him. He grew up with lots of love from the lady and her husband (who was hardly ever home to begin with). When the lady died, Solomon was only twelve years old. The lumberjack husband came home and got angry as he thought Solomon killed the lady. In a fit a range, the lumberjack went to kill Solomon but Solomon’s powers activated and he set the cabin and the lumberjack on fire. With that Solomon somehow exiled himself in limbo. Millennia later Sol-Ar was somehow ejected from Limbo and returned to Earth to live among the mortals. He can harness the power of the sun or any source of light to use in any fashion he can imagine. More pictures will come but I don't have stories for all the customs I have made.

Prowlar: I just wanted to say, I am still finding inspiration in your customs that have been posted. While I don't have a lot of spare mates to cannibalize for customs, I am still finding time in between life and work to tinker with minimates and made characters for my personal collection based upon your artistic endeavors. I forgot the Hirogen, That would be a nice mate to have, and could maybe reuse some of the armor from Halo. I would like to see as many Star Trek Minimates as we can get, even the animated series could be made, but a Minimate Species 8472 would be awesome as well.

I just wanted to share that I have been attempting to get back into my customizing of Minimates. I have worked on a few that have used creative licensing. I have made a version of Wonder Woman as a Star Sapphire. I have made an Orion Female in the Mirror Universe from Star Trek Enterprise. I have made a transporting variant of Captain Kirk, also a Mirror Universe version of Captain Archer from Star Trek Enterprise. I even attempted a Michael Burnham in space-suit from Star Trek Discovery. I took Tron and Sark from Disney's Kingdom Hearts minimates and made them into Borg Drones. I just don't have a great means to include photos as I am thinking Google Photos don't show up to all in this forum. I have also made the Gender Reversed Avengers with Ant Woman and a male Wasp. (Used the female Thor, Iron Heart with a head swap and She-Hulk in my set. I have the Scarlet Warlock, and the Black Arachnid and Wasp as the only men on the team. Miss America, Thor, Ant Woman, Iron Woman, Quicksilver, Black Panther, Hawkeye, She-Hulk and Iron Fist are all female in my set. I am hoping to get pictures to post soon but will work on what I can in the mean time. Thank you.

I would be on this band wagon as well. I like this show and would get at least three sets of these mates. Homelander, Starlight, Lamplighter and A-train could be one set. Then The Deep, Nior, Queen Maeve and Translucent could be a second set. Lamplighter is the one who retired and how Starlight came to join the Seven. His image is seen in pictures but it would be cool to have him. Otherwise, Stormfront would be able to take that spot.

MisterPL: I really like your idea of the Borg done like the "crazy 88" set. That sounds very interesting and would make me buy at least four sets. I also think you could do the TNG set in the same fashion: with alternate head but I would like to see the variation for female chest blocks for at least Troi/Crusher and Yar and Ro. I think you could even do a set that has the uniforms from the later TNG movies as extra parts to allow all the variations a collector/fan would want. As for the Romulans and Klingons, you could do the box set for each: A Klingon set could have Gowron, Kurn, Worf when he was serving during the Klingon Civil War (with the starfleet uniform as extra parts) and Lursa (with an extra head for B'Etor -and a slightly different chest block extra part) the have extra heads and parts to make other random Klingons. The Romulans could have Tomalok, and SubCommander Sela, and then maybe two other random Romulans with extra parts to make others and the parts to make Picard, Data and Troi as Romulans undercover. We already have a Cardassian, Gul Dukat, but we could do a Cardassian/Dominion Set: have a Cardassian as seen in an episode of TNG, a Founder, a Vorta and Jem'Hadar. Then there could be a few extra parts to make a different Cardassian and Jem'Hadar and maybe a different Founder (say we get a female founder then their could be a face variant to make it male and just remove the skirt and it would be male.) You could do an Alien set which could have Neelix, Quark, an Andorian (Shran) and a Bolian (Mot the barber on TNG is who comes to mind). Then include some spare parts to make random aliens from the basic bodies in the set. This would allow for multiple purchases to get the most out of the parts and allow customizing collectors to make many variations of their own. I can dream and this would be a great dream.

Yes, DST. Let's see some new Trek Minimates. For Discovery: we could get by with a four or five figure box set as the uniform is simple enough for multiple figures to use the same body parts. So Burnham, Lorca, Stamets all with extra parts to make other crew members and Saru and a Klingon. Could also do Burnham and Georgiou in the Desert Attire as a two pack but with parts to make them into Mirror versions. There are also all the Enterprise Crew that appear in the Discovery uniforms. Jett Reno as well. Doctor Huber and Tilly are also full of potential Could even do a box set of crew from Strange New Worlds: Pike, Spock and Number One along with a red shirt with parts to make other Enterprise crew members.

With the success CBS All Access has had with Star Trek Discovery and Picard, and the announcement of the new Star Trek series with Captain Pike, one would think they would do some sort of tie-in to get the Fans some merchandise. I would be all in for Minimates of Discovery and some of Picard, but would really like Minimates for the new Pike series as they would tie in to the TOS series. Also a box set of Burnham, Stamets, Tilly and Saru could come with some parts to make other crew members and then a special two pack could be Starfleet Captain Lorca and Section 31 Georgio (with parts to her in her Terran Empress attire and parts to make Lorca in his Terran uniform.) Also a Klingon Torchbearer set would be awesome (L'Rell, Voq, and two other Klingon heads of houses and the human Tyler parts could be to make Stamets into Tyler).

Not sure if anyone will see this but I was not sure where else to post this? I would like to see a Minimates Holiday Set. Baby New Year that could be transformed into Cupid for Valentine's day. A Leprechaun that could maybe become and elf for Christmas. We have Santa from the Elf box set (and the one from A Nightmare Before Christmas) and there are elves in the NBX series, but I more traditional look to each would be nice. Maybe a twist on a Scarecrow for Halloween and a Pilgrim & Native American for Thanksgiving would be neat. I have made my own version of the Pilgrim and Native American, and have a Leprechaun I have started but never finished. I just don't have the right parts for a Baby New Year/Cupid. I would need the top hat (like the one from John in the Peter Pan set) and bare body parts with a white hip piece and a child like face. Also would need a sash like the Easter Bunny has in the NBX. Then to transform him to Cupid you need a hairpiece, wings with harness, and a bow and arrow. Most of these parts exist just need to get them all in one place. I like to decorate my office with MInimates year round and would really like a holiday theme set of Minimates. Just a chance.

So I went to one of my six local Walgreens stores today and found two packs of the Walgreens8 wave that I have never seen in my area before. And since they are on a Buy 1 get 1 50% off, I got them. I finally found Wasp/MODOK and Black Panther/Whitney Frost, but I only wish I had found more so I can open some for some customizing (at least of Wasp). I had already visited four of the other five and only found some much older peg holders that I would only by if they were half price for one. So I left them behind. (mainly Black Bolt/Medusa sets and White Tiger/Iron Patriot sets or some of Thor Ragnarok sets which are all starting to collect dust or the packaging is now so damaged they seldom remain hanging on the peg.)

Well if we were to get Indiana Jones minimates, I would like to get the Nazi bodies as I would like to make Star Trek Customs from the episode "Patterns of Force" I have made a Kirk from that appears Nazi-like using the gray suited version of Bison from the Street Fighter series. I just would like to have the uniform look more authentic but I will not do the emblem of the Nazi regime but I would then be able to make Spock and McCoy in the uniforms as well.

Good Job to all the winners. All the entries were very good and worthy of praise. I wish I could have voted for all of them to be number one. There is a lot of talent in this Multiverse.

Luke, you had some awesome entries for this contest. I wanted to try to make something to enter in the contest, but too busy. However, you have some very GREAT entries and I wish everyone the best of luck. I really like the possibilities of Alternate Universes and all those who were able to submit and entry to this contest did a great job. I would vote for all of you if it was an option.

I hope that MiniMates keep going on and on. It is just a matter of finding the proper distribution method that will get them out there better than Walgreens has been. There are six Walgreens in my metro area. I have found Captain Marvel MiniMates at only one of those six locations and still no sign of Endgame. However, Walgreens is partially to blame as they have the same sku code for the Animated Mates and the same sku code for the Movie Mates so they can't clearance out their lines to make room for the new stuff. My metro area has not seen the last three waves of the Animated Mates due to so many past waves just hanging around and not selling. I would love to see Target start selling MiniMates again along with Walmart. I have ordered MiniMates from Walmart.com and Target.com but they are from a third party vendor who works with the two retailers for the online sales. I just got my nephew into them as Toys R Us died. While he is not into Star Trek like I am, he is liking the Marvel and Aliens Lines. I would really hope that MiniMates can rise up and from the loss of TRU and re-establish their brand in the toy world once again.

Prowlar, nice work on your recent customs. Loving the third and fourth in the top row. I also like most of the Starforce customs. So good work and I only wish I was that creative and had the funds to purchase the numbers to make the many customs.

I agree, we want more Trek Mates from the expanded Trek Universe, not just TOS. There are a still TOS mates that could be made for specific episode looks, like the environmental suits or such. But TNG has more crew to produce to join Picard as well as any special adventure costumes that appeared especially when Q was involved. I know that the fans of Star Trek MiniMates (or at least me) would love to see the main crews completed in MiniMates form to compliment their captains which were made already. The fact that with Avengers: Endgame having a box set that come with heads would be beneficial to the completion of the basic crew for each series. TNG Box Set could have Picard, Troi, Data and Worf with a Riker head to use on Picard's body, Dr. Crusher head to use on Troi's body, LaForge head to use on Worf's body and a Barclay or O'Brien head to use on Data' body. A bonus two pack could have Yar and Guinan. VOY Box Set could Chakoty, Tuvok, B'Elana and the EMH, with a Kim head (and hands) to use on Tuvok's body, Seska head to use on B'Elana's body, Paris head to use on Chakotay's body and the EMH's body could have a Seven of Nine head to use to create her character from one of the temporal episodes. I am basing this all on the fact that Janeway's body was basic enough to use for either gender in her release in the Legacy wave. Also, if the Barclay's head is in the TNG set, it could use the B'Elana body if it is the basic type not showing gender. DS9 Box Set would be using the basic body that Janeway had in the Legacy wave for Worf which would be a head made for the TNG set. So continuing on the basic body, Bashir and Jadzia/Ezri Dax would also have interchangeable bodies. Then O'Brien could also be a head reuse from the TNG set if his character was in that set. So this set would be interesting as to just which characters would be in it as you need Kira, Quark and Odo, but Rom and Jake would be nice additions as well. ENT Box set, would need T'Pol, Tucker (with a Reed Head), Hoshi, Archer (with Mayweather head and hands) and Phlox. That would fill out the crew for this series. The crew with environmental suits would be nice but not necessary. DISCO: need the crew from Season one and the new crew from season two as well as the mirror universe.

I would if I had the funds to buy them, but I have my money tied up in trying to buy a house so I can't buy a bunch of older mates and get stuck with them. I mean one of the local Walgreens still has Ultimate Spider-man and Ultimate Electro from wave 1 of the animated line as well as tons of the wave 6 (Black Bolt/Medusa and two other packs) and we have never seen Wave 8 or 9. However, we did see the 1,000,000 BC wave.

Still no Endgame MiniMates in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois that I have seen. There are six Walgreens in the area. Only one has had the Captain Marvel two packs that I have seen. That one store still has not seen the Endgame Mates yet that I am aware of. The other five stores still have a stock-pile of animated waves and Ragnorok, Black Panther and Infinity War Mates. Some of the Animated Wave finds are all the way back to Spider-Man with Electro set. Still have not seen many of the most recent animated waves here either. Nothing new along the animated line for over a year maybe closer to two.
