So Luke, is there any word on whether you will be carrying the AFX exclusives that were NOT for pre-order before the convention? Namely the Thundercats and Alpha Flight box sets? If AFX puts those sets up for sale on Monday, should I grab them while I can? Or will there be a chance to order them from you?

I've got to say, I'm liking the Kre-O version of the Enterprise better than what DST has shown us. http://www.toplessrobot.com/2012/07/to_boldly_kre-o_where_no_man_has_kre-od_before_1.php The top of the saucer even lifts up to reveal, surprise!, room for a single figure in a command chair. The Minimates version does allow one to stuff another guy into the "Jeffries tube". No doubt I'll be buying some of each, but if only Kre-O would release some classic stuff...

What this man said, you've got to do SDCC once in life. But that was enough for me. Now, I've been going to cons longer than most people on this board have been alive, so I'm no newbie to the sweaty masses. While the glitz at SDCC is amazing, there are just too many people. The chances to do the fun things, the reasons you attended the convention, just become frustrations. Getting in the door takes forever, exclusives can't be had, celebs can't be visited, panel seating can't be found, etc. The best thing about such a huge con is meeting online friends, but even then, tracking some one down, physically getting through the pressing flesh, makes that a chore. So, I've been to SDCC, but I won't be going back. Instead, NYCC is my pick for big conventions, but I'm planning to give C2E2 a whirl. They're both large conventions that haven't gotten too big -- you can still walk down the aisles on Saturday.

Please continue with the sharing thing! While I must admit to a pang of envy, it's great to see the pictures. Better yet, to know that some of the exclusives are making into the hands of those who care. If they want collectors to jump on the line this is certainly the worst move DST could have done. It reminds me the old vintage Star Trek line that lost all interest from collectors when they released a so elusive figure nobody could get it. See, I don't think you can blame this on DST at all. I suspect it's driven by Digger, who is admittedly a fan of insanely-rare. I can only ask, "Why? Why?" Zach has laid out DST's thinking in terms of exclusives and it may not make the fans happy, but it does make some sense. But this? The point of the blank 88's, at least, is to promote the project, no? Then why limit it to 88 figures and release them to an incredibly exclusive crowd who won't care about the toy, let alone the logo that's on it? He should be releasing these by the bushel and handing them out to every joe at the con. It's a give-away in a goodie bag, not even a "get them into the booth" promo like Gold Spidey was. Why, why, why? *deep breaths, deep breaths* In the end, I'll follow the wise words of Dino and bhm -- doubtless more than 88 of each were produced, hopefully they will trickle out onto the market.

Art Asylum Forums, of course! You know, I spent three days trying to remember this, posted my question, then the answer bubbled up in my brain of it's own accord an hour later. I hate the way my brain (doesn't) work. The answer is even in the Bomber Mate, which comes from that era. I can still see that little bomb wiggling when you moused over it. I had forgotten about the interim with Minimates Central, though. And that the AA Forum was predominately Star Trek. Oh, we were red-headed stepchildren on that board, weren't we?

Since this is thread has spent time wandering down memory lane, this seems to be as a good a place as any to refresh my fading memory: before Ady and Shane so generously gave us the Minimate Multiverse, there was another forum we hung out in. But I've forgotten all details of it, including what is was called. Any reminders to share?

The thing about you guys having so many 'Mates is that you're bound to have something some one wants... even a person (*cough*) that thought he was immune. For instance, I know they're prototypes, but they look so much like blanks that you made me sit up tall! And then this came along: Member of the Month 'Mate?! Good God! Now that's a pearl amongst the gumballs! That's a great shot of that guy. Love it.
