  1. I'd MUCH rather this version of Jean. Come on Hasbro, she's only the most powerful entity in the X-Men universe . . . show her a little respect!
  2. Ah - so many wants. . so few will be realised. anywho - here goes - My Dream List of X-Men Villains are as follows: 2-Packs: AOA Apocalypse / Holocaust Sinister / Goblin Queen Pyro / Avalanche Deathbird / Lillandra (I know she is not a 'villain', but she has tried to kill x-men on several occasions) Sebastian Shaw / Hellfire Club Goon (army builder = woot!) Fitzroy / Bishop (modern mech-armed variant & classic long-haired, neckerchiefed variant. He's kinda bad now) Nimrod / Bastion Omega Red / Silver Samurai (I know they don't ‘go’ together - but they are freaking cool) I'd LOVE to see some bad guy box sets. Mutant Liberation Front: Stryfe / Forearm / Reaper / Tempo / Wildside / Moonstar . . . maybe even a Zero Marauders: Archlight / Scalphunter / Harpoon / Vertigo & a Malice possessed Polaris (we're already getting a FA Sabretooth, so i didn't include him) Acolytes: Updated Magneto / Exodus / Acolyte Colossus / Voight / Cortez Mutant Liberation Front: Stryfe / Forearm / Reaper / Tempo / Wildside / Moonstar . . . maybe even a Zero Marauders: Archlight / Scalphunter / Harpoon / Vertigo & A Malice possed Polaris Acolytes: Updated Magento / Exodus / Acolyte Colossus / Voight / Cortez
  3. Squirrel Girl? Forbush Man? Ultimate Wolverine with a stubbed left toe? Spider-Man disguised as Daredevil disguised as Wolverine (Dude playing the dude disguised as the other dude! ). The Gibbon? Seriously, Who? I’m actually hankering for the Human Fly! With all the Spidey action recently & second rate villains like Kraven, Tarantula, Shocker, Venom etc . . . I think it's time we had a MiniMate that can seriously deal out some hurt to Spidey. After all. . . what chance would a Spider have against a Fly?!?!
  4. This is a bit of a long shot, but would anyone consider a 'Most wanted MiniMate that DIDN'T get released/previewed' category? I know there are still popular characters that collectors are dying for, but haven't been realized in MiniMate form. (Try & guess who i'd vote for - ha ha)
  5. Two come to mind. The first Back To The Future Box Set came with an extra Doc Brown head for the mind reading device. And initially Venom only came with the single head, some later sets came with an extra head with an extended tongue. ***MMDB pimping done for the day.*** Now that i think about it - I don't actually have any MiniMates that came with alternate heads. I think i'm fantasizing that MiniMates might take a page from Marvel Legends and bring out MiniMates with alternate heads where appropriate (Such as the ML Deadpool, Weapon X, Forge etc. . .) That'd make Deadpool PERFECT in my opinion: Alternate heads rather than the slip-on masks. Still - Series 26 is pretty much my Dream Line-up (Psylocke, Sabretooth x 2, Gambit AND Deadpool with scabby face AS WELL as 2 (TWO) masks) - so i guess i should count my blessings & quit nitpicking.
  6. Keep em coming! Your X-Men designs fill almost every Mini-Mate future release fantasy i have. Do you have any more AOA designs coming up?
  7. Oh JOY! I would definitely buy a Jim Lee era Jean Grey-Summers! That's Hot!
  8. Ah . . . i remember it well. I stumbled across them in Impact Comics, in Canberra. They hadn't been made available in Toys 'R Us in Australia so i was stoked to find the X-Men 4 pack: Magneto, Professor X, New X-Men Phoenix & New X-Men Wolverine. I bought them on the spot, and have been hooked since. I scoured my states Comic specialty Stores & picked up whatever X-Mini's i could find. Since then, I'm afraid to say that my local store can no longer find a supplier who will make them available here. I'm spending a mint picking them up online at eBay. (But. . . they're worth every penny)
  9. ...gold yes those duck feet annoy me ... sigh... they aren't pleasant... my props belong to the classic mask... having the sections cut off to expose the actual core body of the minimate i think gives the minimates face more character.... im eyeing my shelf as i type... all the captain americas, antman, the newer flash, hawkeye, thanos, any of the cyclops.... the detail required to pull those off makes them look awesome..... as i look at wasp, batwoman, bearded thor (oh man he woulda looked soo sick with a sculpted mask ) to me they look more like toys and less like minimates.... their grins look fake almost....the only exceptions i can think of are harley quinn (sorry nessex, different skin color, what could they do?) and i guess smiley spiderman(the original, not movie)... luke cage's "tuque" was just laziness .....ive already taken efforts to get more classic masks into my collection.... i carefully cut away the flesh from batwomans mask and painted the edges... shes beautiful..... i hardly even liked her before.... havent picked my next victim yet.....vall in all i hope marvel sticks with the sculpted masks over the full faces.... as for the consistency of the lines.... karamazov has this on lock down... over something like 5 years...? im friggen stoked we HAVE improvements... minimates wouldnt have flourished if they didnt improve the detail/quality of the common mate... dc was at the right place at the right time... so to speak... thanks for listening Yeah - i know what you mean about Harely. In my ideal mini-world, she'd have come with a white head, a flesh coloured head, the cut-out mask & a blonde hair-piece. But i understand that they need to keep costs down, which is why we got what we got.
  10. Hey MiniFans, I'm sure you guys are all watching your local Toys 'r Us as well as eBay like hawks, but just in case anyone is interested I found the TRU Gauntlet Tony stark 2-pack on eBay this morning. http://cgi.ebay.com/Marvel-Minimates-Gaunt...A1%7C240%3A1318 Wonder how much it'll go for???
  11. Wave 25 Captain America: Shield & Pistol Red Skull: Ze pistol & ze hat! Red Hulk: Have to admmit, i don't know enough about Rulk to even guess. Maybe Thor's Hammer? Ska'ar: Um. . . pretty sure i usually see him wielding a massive battle axe? classic Iron man: I'm not sure there are any accessories left to give Stark after 15 or so incarnations he's had so far. Aim agent: 'bolt face" Iron man: see above Wave 26 Wolverine: Wolverine never really needed accessories did he? Maybe a hairpiece so he can go unmasked. . . Deadpool: Well - we already know, don't we? (and really, what else could we ask for?) Gambit: Gambit Needs his staff, an uncharged card & a charged one? (some kind of transparent pink plastic for the effect) Psylocke: Psychic Blade, Katana, TK Katana & reversible head: one side normal & one side wth her Crimson Dawn tattoo. Sabretooth: Framed Family portrait of 'Tooth, Mystique, & Baby Graydon. (Seriously, what accessory can he need?) Skrull: Skrull Laser Gun . . . and maybe a Skrull Orb/Bible? classic Sabretooth:
  12. yes . . . yes . . . YES! (i'll have what she's having) I wholeheartedly agree . I much prefer the masks that are sculpted to expose the eyes & mouth underneath, to the masks that cover the whole head & have the facial features painted onto them. I didn't buy the Harley Quinn 'mate for that exact reason. While ranting about masks, I'm also not a huge fan of the slip-on masks that go over the head of the MiniMate. EG: the Venom mask or Cosmic Spiderman mask from wave 24. I'm sure it's done mainly to save money, but i would much prefer interchangeable heads. I likes my consistancy in my mates. Don't get me wrong - the slip-on masks don't look too bad on their own, but when you sit a minimate with the slip-on mask next to MiniMates who have the traditional shaped heads (with masks painted onto the head), they look a little bigger & the rim around the top of the head isn't as sharp. I know it's a little detail to quibble over, but aren't MiniMates all about the little details?
  13. Sorry to post on such an old topic, but I just received a set of Desperately Seeking Susan MiniMates. I live in Australia and we don't get most of the MiniMates in Specialty Comic Stores, let alone major retail chains, so I often order them from overseas (in this case, Canada). Quite often the postage costs me more than the 'mates themselves. In this case - it was WORTH IT! I'm not a HUGE Madonna fan, but these MiniMates are FANTASTIC. The attention to detail is amazing! Each of the girls is wearing one of the earrings featured in the film. The inclusion of Susan's hatbox as an accessory is perfect! The bottom of Roberta's legs have been painted green to mirror the green socks she has showing on the film poster. Even their belt buckles are painted on to match the film poster! I bought these as a gift for a friend, who isn't a toy collector, but is a huge fan of the film. As soon as i gave them to him and he opened them, I started to wonder if perhaps I should have ordered 2 sets. . .
  14. Hey MiniManiacs, I'm kinda new around these parts & thought the best way to introduce myself & let you folks get to know me was to add my own Top 10 wish list. As you can see, i'm hankering for some more women, villains & classics from the X-Men universe. Top 10 (in no particular order) * Stryfe - Red-caped & crazy Helmeted Clone villains are RAD! * Sinister - High Collars are coming back. You heard it here first. * Pyro - With some nice flame effect accessories. * Banshee - The measure of fame is how you are remembered after you are dead. * Sunfire - Classic costume .Along with Banshee, he'd round out the new X-Men box set. * Sunfire - AOA costume. Translucent plastic like the Marvel Legend. * Shatterstar - Dual sword madness and seldom used mutant powers for all! * Rogue - I know we've got a great one already, but i'd love to see an AOA version of her - or perhaps a caped green & white Messiah Complex era costume. We've got like 6 versions of Jean, let's see some new outfits for the other girls. * Domino - Because Cable & Shatterstar need their @rse-kicking gal pal. I'm taking the Domino we love in bright purple with that crazy Wanda rip-off head-piece. * Blink - the AOA girl was popular enough to become a dimension hoping Exile - but hasn't been immortalized a 'mate yet? Come on AA! Spider-Man/Wolverine Variants: * Weapon X - Age Of Apocalypse single handed fury with an alternate burned head. * Venom - Earth X Spider-Girl type character. Well - as it stands - that's my dream list. I know it's a longshot, but here's hoping a few of them get made one day. Cheers MiniManiacs. Nessex.
