  1. RIPLEY. Un-freaking-believable. "NECA, you..." http://youtu.be/ItzslynRhwg That reminds me, we need Dillon...
  2. I'd figure either Logan or Magneto for Select. Maybe a Sentinel on a base, but i'm thinking we'll get a major character. Although, if it were a Sentinel, Trask would be a great pack-in. Seriously can't wait for better pics of these. A little disappointing to see two Wolverines after the glut in his own wave, especially when there are so many other characters (BISHOP) in the movie. But Young and Old Xavier and Magneto have great looks that i'm very excited for. No TRU wave for this one, right?
  3. Uh, wouldn't the bummed ones be buzzkills, not enjoying any Rocket Raccoon at all? Devil's advocate. It's not that i don't get the disappointment, i don't see why an articulated Rocket was an expectation. Not even Legends Rocket is articulated below the waist. Like it or not, Rocket is the same size as Snarf and Lockheed. To the the Thundercats, Snarf is a pretty key member of the team too, and he went articulated. Rocket has two distinct poses i can think of, standing and shooting. Rocket is not Lockjaw, or ANY of the examples above. Lockjaw, Slimer, MODOK, Battle-Beasts, all full-human sized. There are more options to be inventive with. Rocket is tiny. REALLY tiny. Smaller than Carl, smaller than Tyrion. The Carl argument is just silly. Yondu and Nebula don't equate to generic zombies. It'd be more like never getting, say, Axel. We're getting a Rocket Raccoon who can still do what Rocket has to do. EDIT: Regardless, yea, it doesn't really matter, nor is it that serious of an issue. I just wanna see the wave already!!
  4. That "accessory" gets us an additional figure. Honestly, i have two questions: What does Rocket really need to do that he needs to be on a normal body, and did you expect new arms and legs to be sculpted for him? I honestly just don't think he'd look right as a normal figure, scale or sculpt wise. (For the record, i don't care about Groot being bigger. That was just a point i was making.) For me, he just needs to be shooting a gun, like he'll probably spend most of the movie doing. Accessory, character, call it what you will, but he's still getting made, he'll look fine next to the team, and we get an additional character from the movie because of it. I'm pretty fine with the choice.
  5. A general rule of thumb i always use is to make your bid the highest you're willing to go. Other people will try to bid anyway, it prevents snipers from getting in at the last second, and if it goes higher then you didn't want to spend that much anyway. I think ROTJ Boba is 95% a lock at this point; they said the line has no end in sight. Maybe in a few waves he'll be the 4th-slot refresher, with red ROTJ gauntlets. Personally i don't like the red so i didn't bother waiting for one, but i was surprised it wasn't the Wave 2 figure or Wave 4 repaint.
  6. At this point i think it's fair to give Michonne Wolverine claws. Very cool to see Douglas, he was such a bizarre character. Zombies are especially nice this time.
  7. So we're not going to freak out that Groot is the same height as Star-lord and isn't 3 inches tall but we are that Rocket is actually in-scale. Uh-huh. This is a silly argument. Anyway. Loving that DST made Star-lord in the closed jacket. It's a nicer, more superhero-sci-fi look than the open one he's sporting everywhere else, should look really neat with the mask. Really want to see the villains; very nice surprise to be getting more than one.
  8. I've never once seen Boba in-store, so i'm totally glad i paid a premium to get the SDCC one when it came out. Especially since the Wave 2 one goes for so much, not getting Carbonite Han with him would feel like a rip. He's a fantastic figure, though. I'm surprised we're getting a black-pauldron Stormtrooper before a Return of the Jedi Boba. It does depend on your scale preference, but Boba's much harder to find and a great figure.
  9. I got to hang out with Michael Hogan and Aaron Douglas at a con once, and they LOVED their Minimates. Their immediate reactions were: Hogan: "Oh shit they even got the little eyepatch there!" Douglas: "AHHH this is so cool, wait let me get my Batman, i need a picture." He then pulled a Batman figure from his bag and took a bunch of pictures. It's always fun when actors actually enjoy their own toys!
  10. Love the Light Blue Superman, he's a must. Gold Superman too, just because that's the most adorkable thing i've ever seen. And the headsculpt looks much better in plastic than painted. The dorky Super Powers packaging is a nice tribute, i must say. Etheria Sub looks incredible; Light-Hope is a work of art. That's classic, 100% Four Horseman unleashed goodness. Just a great fantasy figure. Rio-blast is great too; this year's Fisto? LMFAO at "Green Lantern as Riddler" though, and i never use that abbreviation. They always manage to fuck it up somehow, and that's exactly how. I get the reference but who in the right mind ever wanted that? That's exactly how you kill a line, not that it matter now anyway i guess. Also, JAIME JAIME JAIME:
  11. Sounds like this is being handled beautifully. I've got faith. Love the sound of alternate looks and that Charles gets that badass future chair.
  12. November, 6 inch scale, probably $20, no word on accessories yet but i'd doubt things like hands (isn't Red Hood One the first to get that?). Figures from both BTAS and The New Batman Adventures for now, starting with BTAS Catwoman and TNBA Batman, Two-face, and Mr. Freeze. Also, JESUS YES PLEASE NEED NOW. Hope they go with BTAS for Ivy, i really need her classic look. But Harvey should look fantastic, TNBA is a great design. Looking forward to Ra's eventually too, and hopefully Superman Animated at some point. Man, DCC dominated Toy Fair before it even started. Red Hood One looks to be the perfect suit buck (well, 2 buttons would be really perfect, but 3 is close enough). EDIT: Looking back at them, if the Bruce Wayne head on the Night of the Owls Batarmor is swappable, putting one of those on the Red Hood One body would be perfect for a quick and easy Capullo Bruce. Love it.
  13. Looks like Gamora gets a red costume, too. Wonder if they get a team uniform by the end.
  14. Groot looks incredible. The others...yeeeesh. Rocket's not articulated below the waist, like the other two, Gamora YIKES, Drax has a weird Toybiz shoulder situation going on, and Pratt's face is pretty rough. The rest of Pratt looks fantastic so hopefully they have to sense to include a masked head, because then he's a definite buy. But the rest are just really rough looking; it's probably more the fault of the designs, but the proportions look pretty off on Drax and Gamora.
  15. Whoops, i dunno why i said "backwards." I meant he has two left upper arms. Fortunately another in the area has them (and Jon and a Walker), so if i can out there by Saturday, weather permitting, they'll hold them. They were both $19.95. Dany online is $17, but they won't match their own online price which is severely aggravating.
  16. So, this is from a Barnes and Noble that's a little out of the way from me, but not only did i find the new Funko GoT figures, i found this little slice of Heaven (don't hate me) For the record, everything was at a pretty hefty mark-up. Almost bought Cell, but not for $60.
  17. I would take a Pop Diva box set. Gaga/Kesha/Beyonce/Katy With a Britney/Rhianna 2 pack. Madonna TTA for SDCC I'm liking the sound of a new Classic Power Man and Iron Fist. Wouldn't say no to a redo of Byrne Cyke and Dark Phoenix either.
  18. Just got back from an out-of-ways B&N, and managed to find the last Ned and Dany. Fortunately, playing around with them, they don't have the QC issues i've seen at Fwoosh or Funko. However... Ned has a backwards upper right arm. I really want to count myself lucky that nothing was broken, but Goooood that just irritates me so much; it just "looks wrong," ya know? Fortunately its minor and can be hidden with a pose, but i still know it's there. I'll exchange him if my on-campus store gets them. But barring that i'm really happy with them. For Funko's first 6 inch offering, they're really incredible. If Dany doesn't have any issues breakage-wise, she's got some of the best articulation i've seen on a female figure; torso joint has an insane amount of range. Her head does too; the hair is soft and doesn't hinder the peg at all. There's a plug on her shoulder for the dragon which is a little unsightly, but he looks too good pegged there to leave it open anyway. Ned's okay. Paint is a little sloppy around the beard, but the entire sculpt is just fantastic. His wrists were very tight, and with the hinge i was worried about shearing the peg, but it worked out. Torso doesn't move much. I really like him, but i can't help but feel like that arm is ruining it for me. Such a minor thing but it's...just...there. So yea, these are pretty great. If i can find Tyrion he's a definite buy, and the others i'll wait until after the 30-day exclusivity to see if they get cheaper. REALLY hyped for Jaime in wave 2. But i want all of his looks, so one just won't cut it; torn over whether i'd rather have Kingsguard armor, Lannister armor, or his dressed-down leather look from when he fights Ned, that he seems to be wearing in Season 4. Guess we'll find out this weekend!
  19. Just heard from my LCS owner that he isn't just stopping ordering box sets, he's stopping Minimates altogether. With the Winter Soldier wave. Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahaha. I give up.
  20. No, he's saying there is NOT a new villain in the set. Paraphrasing: "Not everyone will want it," "I can't imagine why i'd say not everyone would want it if there's an unmade villain in it." Good to hear Carl confirmation just for the sake of, i mean, we kinda need him even if he's a moron. But MEGA-GOOD to hear that the superhero set is like the lowest priority. It's just so...so...unbelievably ridiculous. carl ain't a moron read the books! hah (: Read them from before the show, yes, yes he is. SO HAPPY riot gear is over. This is becoming my favorite confirmation thread.

  22. Yep, neither are really accurate to his recent look. Although in a few months, the comic Bucky is adopting the movie look with shorter hair, so that's your best bet. For the best general, traditional Winter Soldier look, 54 nails it.
  23. Wow. Good news for the Outer Senshi. Bad for my wallet.
  24. YYEEESSSSSSSS Abraham!! Freaking finally. He looks perfect. Actually the whole TRU wave is pretty great
  25. Mattel has their own 2-inch deformed mini-figure sets now for them anyway. Definitely not MOTU. Notice the wording too, "one of them;" more than one new license on the way (Granted, Chuck could be talking Pulp Fiction or Sin City but since they've been "announced" i'd doubt it). I'm thinking a new comic license, which i guess TMNT does qualify for, but i haven't really been keeping track with what the latest "must do's" are.
