  1. Are you sure he's really an artist, Bro?? That's a pretty good excuse to get people in his studio/house/basement & have them be naked. "Oh, it's OK. Really. I'm an artist." Riiiiight.
  2. This is the part that came back to bite him in the ass. When the customer complained, management checked his "hold" shelf space & saw several multiples of the same pack/kind (as he grabbed from several lines of toys/figures/etc). They found it hard to believe that he needed all of it just for him, so they let him buy one of each & he had to put the others back on the floor. A few days later, they were tipped to his eBay page & saw everything he had for sale. This is when they fired him, as we had the same type of clause in our employment. (Even more so for him since he was head/in charge of that department & held to higher standards than the rest of us.) Besides this, a perk for us was that we could set stuff aside for our own personal purchases at any time -- not just on our breaks. As long as it didn't interfere with us helping guests. Of course, we only could buy our stuff on breaks, or before or after our shifts.
  3. He's so cute! (I love his lil broken heart.)
  4. I worked at TRU -- before I knew what minimates were -- & can say that this does sound weird. Not all of the emps would have known, but the guys in charge of the "action figure" section (where 'mates are located) would. About a year after I left, the head guy in charge of that section got fired. Management found out he was pulling the variants/exclusives from the cases as he unpacked them (after truck, but before putting them out on the floor). As employees, we could "hold" stuff for ourselves for a few days (we each had a space in back) that we wanted to buy. He was pulling all the good stuff (believe you me he was up on everything in his section), buying it with his emp discount & scalping it on eBay. When he was fired (& mgmt was pissed at him when they found out), he said he didn't care because he had so much stuff that he wouldn't need to work for quite some time. So yeah.... certain employees would know. I'd go back & be there right as they opened on Monday. I'd bet that this happens everywhere. (BTW, this is how he was discovered. Not the "minimate embargo," but that stuff had just come in on the truck & first customer in was a collector that cried foul when the more exclusive of the items were already gone.)
  5. Mine has no hole in the head either. If it matters, I bought mine at Target (before they decided to stop carrying minimates).
  6. I have Layton (no pics yet, but will soon enough when it stops raining) & the black outfit version of Haruka (No. 5 from The Idolm@ster -- no idea what this is as I got her as a gift from a friend). Layton is insanely awesome & I love him to death!
  7. That's what we're here for, Jeff! I'm glad she'll be home for the weekend, too. Thanks for keeping us posted. If you need anything, just holler.
  8. If anyone would want to pick me up a hulkbuster/gamma hulk pack, I'd really appreciate it.
  9. My fave Bond movie! I would love Kidd & Wint minimates!! (They're the reason I love this movie. Them & the Jimmy Dean sausage guy.)
  10. What about Rhodey's hair (from IM1) with some slight modifying? It's small/thin enough that you could add a bit to the top for LL's hair & not have it look too big or bulky or weird. It's what I thought of immediately cuz his hair is thin on the sides (close to his face) with some volume on top/back.
  11. I'm sorry, too, but I wish you well in whatever you do in the future. It was nice to have you around until now.
  12. Like everyone else has said, hang in there. Not all cancers are the same -- if it even turns out to be that in the end. (Doctors are wrong every day.) Stay positive, because kids (even as young as yours) can sense bad vibes & get all stressed out or worried. You guys are in my thoughts as well. Let us know how things develop. *hugs*
  13. Best variant ever. Complete with X's for eyes, just like the Palz Ho-Ho-Ho Tony figure (from Die Hard).
  14. Thanks, guys! I checked my email inbox (the only place I didn't check, d'oh) & there they were. You two rock!
  15. My inbox is getting full & I decided to archive old stuff to make room. Can anyone tell me where the default save location is? I archived a block of PM's but can't find where in my computer the file saved to. Thanks in advance for any help! PS - I feel extremely silly for asking this.
  16. I feel you, Bro. eBay is just not what it's cracked up to be anymore. Like others have said, I now avoid selling on it & only buy on it if it's my last resort. I hope everything works out satisfactorily for you in the end.
  17. I'm kind of freaked out by them, too. (No offense, FS.) There's such a randomness to their licensing -- some video game, some sports, some HK movie, some anime.... & then Ricky Martin??
  18. But here's the real question: Does he collect Spiderman because he loves them, or has he been forced into loving & thereby collecting Spidey because DST loves him? LOL. Welcome, Kyle!
  19. Welcome! Like Shane said, it is an addiction, but beware!! This forum could also addict you to more than just the 'mates. Due to the Machiavellian tactics of some members here, there are other figures I'm driven to collect now, too.
  20. I have a few. If you're talking official, then it's: ~ the C3 Batman that came with the mini Batmobile -- I love him for his cape & his faux "nose" (from the cowl) & his non-painted on boots ~ my modified angry Spider-Woman 'mate (beyond WW, she is my favorite female superhero) If you're talking customs, then it would have the Jim Balent Catwoman that Luke did for me last year. (Sorry I had to use your photo, Luke. I still haven't found the time to photo her myself.)
  21. Spider-Woman is one of my faves & I hated her hair -- I hate that hairpiece in general. I took my extra Witchblade's hair, cut off the "metal-organic" pieces & removed the paint (it's cast in black plastic). She looks so much better that way!
  22. I can't believe they didn't include my fave -- Bossk -- or any of the others from Star Wars that are awesome (Admiral "It's a Trap!" Ackbar or the Max Rebo band).
  23. Tru dat! T. I dunno. I like to think of them as bow-legged. As I chick, I kind of like bow-legged guys. But that's just me. Also, his whip looks like a spine -- like he's just ripped someone's out. That, with his freaky appearance, creep me out.
