  1. I'm perfectly happy with what they gave us. If I'd been in charge, I probably would have replaced Ma Hunkle, Battle Damage figures, Mary Marvel, and the Red Son 2 pack, but overall I just don't think they gave the line long enough to give us everyone we need, even if you do remove cool characters like Braniac 13, Croc, and Omac from the line-up. And while I do think its nice to get themed 2 packs, random pairings (which DCD ironically did very little if any) serve a great fan purpose of getting star characters, aswell as serve business needs, someone may only like Batman characters, in order to get Nightwing, they'll need to pick up Starfire too.
  2. Fresh off the apparent break-up of DC Direct and minimates, the Batman The Dark Knight liscence seems to have led to a new line of block figures called Q-Blox. Since this is part of a movie liscence it's possible that this has nothing to do with DC Direct or current minimate plans, but still, it feels shady. So much for ever seeing a Batman Begins minimates.
  3. I'm thinking the bald version is the variant. But I'm with you guys, I like the bald version way better, so it will be great if that turns out to be the regular version.
  4. 1. Gold Captain Atom 2. OYL Martian Manhunter 3. Modern Red Arrow 4. Black Lightning 5. OYL Blue Beetle 6. OYL Atom 7. Kid Devil 8. Beast Boy 9. Troia 10. OYL Robin -Superman Blue -Batman Beyond
  5. I had no trouble fitting the wings on my variant version, the regular Death Archangel required a little bit of force, but it was still pretty painless.
  6. Who all was supposed to be in the Target exclusive wave that never happend? Iron Spidey, Web Armor Spidey, Unmasked Goblin, and some of the Spider-Man boxset mates?
  7. I've been very conflicted about whether to get into the 2" Star Trek mates or not. I'm still not quite sure, but I'll definitelly be picking up atleast one of the Sisko packs from series 5. As they make more Next generation characters I'll probably get a few of those too, I'm too young to have an attachment to any of the 60's characters, but I did go through a next generation phase as a kid. I'd most likely get Geordi, Worf, Riker, and Data. And if they made those, of course I'd have to pick up the upcoming Picard mate aswell.
  8. Black Spidey, Spider-Woman II, Thunderbird.
  9. Just ordered mine, couldn't beleive they were already up for sale. Glad I checked. I feel sorry for the people who decided to go the ebay route, where they're going for $20-$50. Got mine for the minimal price of $15.99, and US Agent/Taskmaster for $5.99!
  10. I'm fine with Minimates being a specialty item aswell. While Minimates might be able to sell as is in retail, and SHS can pull off obscure characters, DST has an awful track record with the minimates released at retail. They tend to be already released, they are always mainstream characters, and the QC on the Target Nightcrawler is nefarious. If they go back to the big chains, I worry about lower quality in order to meet mass production numbers, and alot of rereleases that will take away from the resources of the main specialty store driven line.
  11. who's the figure below symbiotic spidey in the black and grey? It's the Punisher's post Civil War Capain America costume.
  12. The Street Fighter seires was full of cool colorful costumes and still failed (alothough there were other factors involved). So I really don't think anything is a safe bet with minimates. Heroes is so popular right now, even if they where civies, people will recognize them and know their unique powers and personalities, and hey, there are always the possibility of blast accecories for characters like Ted, Peter & Sylar to spice things up. I have confidence in the heroes franchise's sellability. But speaking of cool looking unique figures, think of all the great Halo minimates we could of had of Spartans, Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Brutes, if Microsoft wasn't so stupid. Kubricks aren't as good a brand as minimates as it is. But when you consider that it's two boxsets worth of 1 figure in different colors, it really pisses me off, that Microsoft wouldn't let Minimates have a shot at making the liscence glow.

  14. No. I love minimates, not just any random block figure. If DCD wants my business, then they want to keep the minimate brand.
  15. I didn't care for The Batman cartoon, but I always felt the designs translated well into minimates. I wish that they atleast had released a regular Batman for The Batman C3's before they cancelled. The Manbat, I feel is better than any comic Manbat they could give us.
  16. 1. OYL Martian Manhunter/OYL Atom 2. Captain Atom (Gold)/Black Adam 3. Beast Boy/OYL Robin 4. Blue Devil/Kid Devil 5. Black Lightning (Any Version)/Modern Red Arrow Then it could die happily in my book, hell I could die happily with that line-up.
  17. It looks like in addition to the panel, they showed Star Trek Series 5? on the floor. The one that stood out to me was the black captain from Deep Space 9? Have those been shown before?
  18. Well it looks like thats the last of what TNI had, no pictures sadly. The FA Avengers will be a nice addition to the collection. I would have prefered modern versions of Yellowjacket, Ant Man, and Wasp, but I'll take what I can get. As far as Gold Iron Man, I've wanted one since the FA Silver was released a few years back, so it's very good news. Possibilities of Stiltman is nice, I don't care for him personally, but whenever we get really obscure guys like Stiltman, Gamora, or Spymaster, it means that menial characters that I like are a possibility at some point. (Holding out for Spider-Ham and Captain Americat.) The big news for me has to be Heroes though. I love that show, and wanted some merchandise, but I stopped collecting 6" action figures, and the Mezco figures have very little articulation anyway. Hope these come to pass. I really want to see Peter from season 2, D.L., Hiro, and Claire.
  19. Oh my god! Heroes minimates might be on the way!
  20. Sorry if people are taking my post wrong, I'm not blaming DST for making these, or saying that there isn't a market for them either. I was just saying in my hyperbolic way that I HATE Madonna more than Satan, and it pissed me off on a personal level to see these. I understand others may like them and should be allowed to buy them. It does disturb me though, that DST is willing to take a chance on these, when they haven't had similar faith in the past for some things that I would have loved to see. Ultimately this has as much a right to be made as any of the other movie mates or music mates that have been released or that I would like released in the future, but I just feel like even though Ozzy and KISS fans are a smaller group than Madonna fans, they are a group that is more likely to by toys or other plastic memorabilia. I know very few if any Madonna fans who wouldn't think minimates were childish.
  21. Civil War Set. Thanks for this opportunity.
