love them all the city on the edge 2 pack is sweet.. whos head did you use for the klingon? I have a huge stash of trek qc's like these and have a similar klingon but I used modern mandarins head for it

I agree hawkeye has been well done, in fact I really feel all the characters (even the villans) have been very true to their roots in the Marvel U

If they really wanna do it right, they should start looking at re-releasing each sculpt 3 or 4 times - but each time with a different paint scheme & pretending it's a totally new armour. . . the 3 3/4 IM movie line is broken into groups of movie, comic and concept

while these are some rather lackluster 'mates at first glance. I have to admit I like the Elektra re-hash its a simple but effective reworking that really brings this character up to speed with today's offerings, Hand Ninja as an army builder was inevitable, so while it seems a little ho-hum (with out showing what kind of gear he comes with) thats one more army builder out of the way. White Tiger classic is off the main stream path by a mile so I'm happy to get him. The other three ehh they cant make everyone happy all the time, and for me three out of six is pretty good

wow I can't remember who dit but some one did do a pantone project with dyed clear blanks in a lit box and it looked great maybe Ivan or boyd i really cant think of it at the moment but its a stunning piece.

caught the premiere of this last night and all I can say is "EXCELSIOR"! It was just great really the best marvel cartoon I've ever had the pleasure of sitting through. can't wait for next week!

I agree, he looks toot sweet as is! maybe you could add a little paint/decal detail on the red dot to give it the illusion of depth your looking for. but in the end I think it looks great as is, nice work.

not veins but I did add vines. The first one was made with a standard body, venom hands and gollums loincloth. Version 2 was made with a standard body with powerhouse chest piece, altered lady deathstrike hands, gsx wolverine boots and again with gollums loincloth

I have to say this price hike doesn't phase me all that much. The DC line was expensive when it came out but it meant getting all kinds of newly sculpted pieces. Marvel as of late has been giving us lots of newly sculpted items and lots of extra pieces per pack to make alternate looks/costumes for characters and IMHO it really has brought a new "shine" to the Marvel line. In the end if it means a continuation to what we have seen this past year in variety AND a upgrade to the quality control aspects I think the price hike is worth the extra money.

While messing around in my parts graveyard last night this fell together. While I am no huge fan of the character I thought this came out pretty spiffy. for all you jungle lovers Ka-Zar and now I need a block style Zabu pretty badly. I would post this in the QC section but I'm sure someone already has a decent enough Ka-Zar in there already. arms and legs, any flesh tone Modern mandarins chest block Gollums loin cloth Skar's boots Face I can't seem to remember hair is from a bsg six (?Which one?) and any knife though I would prefer one with a brown handle

Rom was a toy created by... Parker Brothers? They basically approached Marvel about creating the backstory and doing the tie-in comic. The toy was a flop, the comic wasn't (and it's probably the single most underrated Marvel comic ever) but eventually the license lapsed. I think Marvel could probably buy the rights to Rom outright (it's not like Parker Brothers, or whomever owns the rights, is doing anything with them), but I guess it's not worth their while financially. Really a shame. I seem to remember reading that marvel has made efforts to buy these rights outright and has been snubbed at every turn. even to the point where a "spaceknights" comic (shortlived I dont think it made 6 issues) marvel put out in the 90's I think couldnt use the name ROM anywhere in the book even though the rom character was used, they had him in a human form and he used the title of Prime Director in that appearance. It really is the most under rated book Marvel has put out a solid storyline through out the entire run.

Yeah, I did hear through the grapevine they would do a couple more "thank you" waves before wrapping things up. I think some of you will be very pleased with the character selection. A bitter-sweet time, to be sure. thanks luke, umm can we lock this thread now its given me the heebie-jeebies, lol

my dear ole Mum gave me a set of the MAX statues for x-mas one year and it stopped me from picking up on the Mighty Mugg Galactus fig but I always thought he would be a great option for minimates displays, should have picked one up when I had the chance

Ivan I need you to say this is a joke. I mean I know it is a joke I just need to see you confirm it. I really am not prepared for the end of Marvel mates. Over the years I have drifted from one collectible to another and as far as "new" toys go Marvel Minimates are my hands down all time favorite line I have ever collected. ohh yes there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth when the subject of this thread really does become a reality.
