Great, if Big Lebowski is free, it’s time to start Asking DST none stop to pick up the license then! Not only could we get minimates, but I wouldn’t mind some Selects either, and bottle openers seem like a really good fit.

From the Ghostbusters thread, but I think it’s more fitting to reply here: For what it’s worth, RGB Slimer’s Proton Pack fits over the Turtles shells real nicely (or at least over Raph’s shell, I didn’t get a Leo or Don so I don’t know if their weapon slots get in the way)... Slimer’s pack doesn’t have a trap on the side though, so that will need to be glued on.I like it enough I’ve gone from “meh,I don’t need Ghostbusting Turtles” to if I can find a Mutagen Leo I’ll probably add a pair of Ecto-goggles and paint the straps/wraps/belt/mask black and make a “stealth tech” variant.

This is such an amazing idea! I had been eyeing this figure from the new movie: http://www.amazon.com/Playmates-Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles/dp/B00LMHGH0C because I love the bulk of the coat and the whole “invisible man” feel from the scarf, but I never bought the figure because it didn’t fit in with my collection. I followed your recipe but left the Thing’s hands in place but painted white and added a little grey paint to chest/lower face and a Walking Dead scarf and boom! I never would have thought to do that without seeing this custom, so thanks for the inspiration!

Given how many franchises are in the “Lego” series I’m not willing to count this as a ‘win’ for DC that would help minimates... since you know, kids can buy LEGOS based on the LEGO games.Yeah, they’re a bit more expensive. But if the kid played Lego Marvel, Lego Star Wars, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Lego Harry Potter, Lego Indian Jones, Lego City, Lego the Lego Movie, Lego the flamethrower, and Lego DC Heroes they’re gonna have an easier time meshing a $20 Aquaman minifig with a boat they threw away with Emmet and Darth Vader then they are meshing a $7 Aquaman minimate who TOWERS above the minifigs also, since I made my original argument over a year ago and things have changed I’ll say this: Teen Titans GO! is still going strong some how and DC seems to have found a way to make live-action TV really work for them... Mattel isn’t doing anything with the Arrow/Flash/Constantine/TTG! (although TTG! is part of Jazzwares... Jaks Pacifics? one of the sh*tty companies that starts with a J's Cartoon Network license I think) and Mezco hasn’t made any Mez-Itz that I’m aware of (it’s possible they’re sitting on the license) so DST needs whatever loophole genius got them the ability to make Ninja Turtle figures and sell them in a TRU despite Playmates master license, and got them the Plants Vs Zombie license when other companies were already making Plants Vs Zombies block figures and 6 inch figures (one of them the same one that makes the Teen Titan figures)... find whatever technicality they can make minimates based on those shows with an run with it. Then once those do well (if they do well) call WB back up and find out if it’s possible to expand that Batman ’66 license somehow into minimates. So I know the response an obvious strawman will have is “OH BOO-HOO! I don’t want TV minimates, I want classic comic versions of the characters” or “WAH-WAH! But then I couldn’t get Superman, or Wonder Woman, or Dark Knight Joker, or Blah, blah!” well tough-kitties, pal!!! Even if you got comic based minimates they sure as shot wouldn’t be classic costume based, and to rant about Street Fighter once again: Maybe you should just take the figures you get and realize Blanka is NEVER gonna happen, EVER. If you’re offered a shiny new Guile you can bitch and moan all you want you never got Blanka, but be happy you even got Guile and realize Blanka was NEVER on the table... in this case Booyah shiny white armor Cyborg is Guile and Blanka is an updated Superman.

Originally I didn’t think the NECA Predator line was for me... but then a little less then a year ago I bought my wife the Nightstorm Predator for Christmas because she liked the original Kenner version (she thought it was a female Predator, so the fact NECA used the slimmer Super Predator base for these only helped reinforce that idea) and it cascaded from there. They’re really crushing it with this line

Also, Asking Zach and will ask DST depending on response: What kind of license do you guys have in regards to what you can market as a “Ghostbuster” product... Like Kenner made up ghost who weren’t in the movies or the cartoons, can you guys do that are you limited purely to what’s been on the screen? Because our Universal Monster collection has some holes that the Ghostbusters could fill (an Invisible Man... sleeping in your bed, a PHANTOM of the Opera, and I want a minimate of that sweet Van Hellsing figure Jean St. Jean sculpted, make up an excuse he’d met them)

If RGB is still on the table (which I assume it is npthing is off it), I’m gonna throw this idea out into the room:Kenner Homages? I think the Fright Features Figures would translate really nicely to minimate form (using an alternate head to allow for the normal and terrified looks) maybe some of the ghost made up for the line (I can’t think of any that would translate though) and if vehicles other than the Ecto-1 aren’t off the table that VW Bug that turns into a Preying Mantis would be pretty sharp, maybe the Ecto-2 as well (any future Ecto-#’s not so much) Beyond that: -the eXtreme Ghostbusters, because at this point why not -Rookie? Mattel made him as figure, do people still care about him? -IDW Ghostbusters? They made the Battle Beast comic so they’re probably not hard to work with but beyond weird looking cartoon versions of the movie Ghostbusters and a mini-skirted second team of Ghosbuters is there anything there that’s different? (Keeping in mind crossovers don’t make something part of the license so no X-Files or Transformers or whatever) -Filmation Ghostbusters, DAMMIT, I know it’s a new, different license but I want them!!!

now this is all well and good, and I have one of those at the TRU I go to the most. But here’s the problem:Not every store around here carries the minimate four-packs anymore. Only one store got in PvZ, and a different store is the only one to get in the clerks so far. (neither have been at my preferred store, I’ve had to drive 20 miles in either direction to get to them) If the options are: -Blindly drive around until you find a store OR -Use Store Locator to narrow the search then using Store Locator is the best option, because the best my store’s employee can do is tell me “this store should have them...” (have a whole huge story about trying to find some Monster High dolls and how the good store tried to call a sh*ttier TRU an hour away who came up in the system has having eight in stock to have them hold one for me, got a busy signal, I drove there because because I was bored, nothing on the shelf, not even the less desirable figures from the case that every other store has had left as a sign I was too late, so I go up front and the rude teenager at the front desk wouldn’t even check the system because “our system is probably just wrong”... but that’s the meat of the story so no need to go into it.) I’m aware there’s a good chance the Store Locator is wrong, but sometimes it’s better to deal with a computer who’s flawless mechanical mind doesn’t understand the difference between “in back, on the floor, being held, hidden under a crib for some a-hole to buy later” then it is to deal with a bored teenager at a store you rarely go it.

Fun Fact if you don’t want to drive around looking: TRU.com offers “in store pick up" on any item that ships in a sold case. So since the Clerks set ships as its own item not part of an assortment you can just look up it on TRU.com, pick “find a store” and it will tell you who in your area has the item, you don’t even need to order, just drive to that store and buy it...

... Are you telling him to ask DST because ones coming and you’re not sure you can reveal that info yet so you’re letting Chuck field it or do you honestly not know the conditions of the Ecto-1 licensing?

That's part of the “redempetion” theme I was talking about. She’s clearly one of Steve’s must trust allies, so HE can see the good in her even if the rest of the world (and maybe even she) can't, so she has to overcome her past to live up to the ideals set by set Steve (I guess it’d sort of be like when Punisher was Cap, but with Black Widow instead)... plus you can make the connection that America claims to be a standard of justice but has a shakey past of being a just country (and maybe presently so if you want to go there) so really Black Widow as Captain America represents the truth while Steve Rogers as Captain America represents the ideal.

I’m gonna throw this idea out there:Black Widow takes over for Steve while Chris Evans takes a break/gets recast. That way Captain America 4 can be the female Superhero movie everyone wants so badly, it can play with the themes of redemption and being a spy not a soldier set up in Avengers, ScarJo can get a bigger pay check which will keep her around for a few more years, they can introduce Yelena as the replacement Black Widow, it would be different from the status quo as a way of saying “the movies aren’t going to be 100% like the comicbooks” and allow them more room for character changes... it won’t happen, but I think it’s better to let a character we’ve seen in 4 (possibly 5 if she’s in Cap3 as well) movies become the temporary mantle holder so they can grow rather then a character we’ve seen in 1 (maybe 2? it doesn’t sounds like either of them are in A2:AoU and I’d be surprised if they showed up in Cap3 or A3 given how overstuffed they’re already going to be) just because that character was Cap in the comics.

Cyborg has millions of fans, unfortunately they all of the jokey Teen Titans/Teen Titans Go version of the character so they’ll be very turned off by a grimdark movie with no Beast Boy where he doesn’t say “Booyah” even once.

I want to know how the Predator’s heads are gonna be handled We got three different Xenomorph heads for closed mouth, open mouth, and mouth with little mouth stuck out... should we expect three versions of the Predators for mask on, unmasked open mandibles, unmasked closed mandibles? Will the Predators face be a plain cylinder head and masked and unmasked will just be different hair pieces? However it’s done I can’t wait!

To be fair, A2: Age of Ultron isn’t based on the Age of Ultron comics, and Netflix’s “The Defenders” won’t be made up of the characters I’d call “the Defenders” (since 50% of them belong to Fox)... so I’m going to wait until more plot details emerge other than “in the comic of the same name..." before I call it a good or bad idea.Also I find it funny WB tried to scare Marvel off this release date by claiming it for BvS:DoJ thinking they were going to do Doctor Strange or something and it ended up being “Captain America Vs Iron Man”, it’ll be fun to see which Vs movie makes more at the box office (hopefully BoxOfficeMojo will be back to normal by then so I can enjoy all the in detail stat break downs!)

Wave 5 is nice in that there’s power-up variants for a change... but none I want (I want to like Fire Peach and Fire Toad, but since I don’t need an Ice Flower and Flying Squirrel(?) Mario I won’t be getting Toad so Peach is unneeded.) So I’ll wait for wave 6 Check the Halloween section of Target next to the $5 lego bags and cute-but-sh**ty-painted Monster High figures, that’s the only place I’ve been finding.
