  1. Early days yet, pre-reveal, but yeah I may have to brace my wallet for multiple-set impact if I want to keep a lot of parts for customs. And @SCW re: the probably rhetorical question in your sig: you play scales, obviously
  2. Assuming we get around to armies, it makes sense not to emphasize drivers at first. And honestly there are a decent number of main Cobras left to do. I'll resist my urge to list them so this doesn't devolve into another comprehensive namesplosion, but by my count there are at least 12 must-haves left. 4 of which I am sure will be in Series 4. After that 12 you get into the deeper cuts, like various Iron Grenadiers, all of the Dreadnoks Who Are Not Named Zartan, Cobri-La, and a handful of B-listers. And then it's all troops, baby! (or we could skip all of this and go straight to the Lunartix Empire)
  3. YEAH. This set looks fun. I am loving Scott Lang, and the custom potential for that jar. I'll have my Krang yet...
  4. I like it. 1. Middlin' Morbius 2. Meddlin' Morbius 3. Morbin' Morbius (final form) 4. Doctor Hot 5. Bad Doctor Who 6. Bad Decision Michael Keaton
  5. [um, lazy spoiler tag here, I guess] [for the movie, not the box set]
  6. Hm. No Way Home. Spidey, Spidey, Spidey, Goblin, Ock, Electro.
  7. I was always a Cobra collector as a kid, so I'm looking forward to these ranks being filled out. It's been mentioned before, but Cobra in particular is well suited for an all-army builder wave. So many great ones to choose from: Troopers, Officers, Crimson Guards, Eels, HISS Drivers, B.A.T.S., Night Creepers, Lampreys And the Vipers! Vipers, Tele-Vipers, Alley Vipers, Ninja Vipers, Range Vipers, SAW Vipers, Frag Vipers, Night Vipers, Hydro Vipers, Secto Vipers... That's like four Cobra-waves of army builders right there.
  8. Looking forward to the reveal! I like the hex boxes.
  9. That's exciting, it's been a while. Will this be a formally-numbered release (wave sequence) or a standalone?
  10. Love them all - some really great & innovative parts reuse.
  11. d'oh! Excited to be there all the same, I can finally use my overly-optimistic 2020 pass...
  12. Ah, so good! These are excellent!
  13. Conversely, they probably stopped at Drizzt because he didn't sell very well. So there is that. But +1 to BD because if Warduke is the Boba Fett of D&D, then Drizzt is the Luke Skywalker. Sure they lived in different worlds and timelines, but I'm speaking to comparable awareness and importance, relative to the IP. You could do a lot worse than a set with Drizzt, Bruenor, Wulfgar, Cattie-Brie, Gwenhwyvar and Artemis Entreri. Even if you don't know any of these characters, I'm sure you've seen 1,000s of variations of these names as online handles, or have been heckled by the likes of "Jarlaxle69" or "RegisFTW."
  14. These pictures are very cool, and it's striking to me that there haven't been MiniMates reviews in the Reviews thread for 7 years. Maybe when I get my next set (likely Marvel 82) I'll be inspired?
  15. I cannot argue that the TNG Star Trek era is most in need of MiniMates. So to the extent that it's ever possible, I support you, TNG fans. But I am also hopeful that the success of "Strange New Worlds" returns some focus to my favorite Star Trek era in TOS, because there are still a lot of characters to mine there IMO.
  16. Mortal Kombat would have made for interesting MiniMates, especially for the potential for swappable bloody body parts, removable limbs, babality pack-ins and all of the other assorted nonsense that happens when kombat konkludes.
  17. Thought I'd bump this, since these vicious rumors ended up panning out. Thanks to mav-man for the year-old scoop!
  18. So every couple of months I like to return here to keep the dream alive of one more classic Predator set. (and artificially inflate my post count)
  19. And another question, possibly asked/answered in the archives somewhere: Is there a classic Galileo in good scale with MiniMates? This Playmates version likely has a chair(s) that is/are too big:
  20. This is another line with some potentially exciting accessories and gear. But I'll probably be less cavalier about mining them for parts, mainly because I really want these characters.
  21. When is the panel? I'm going to be there Friday & Saturday, but likely doing Hall H on Saturday. I'll drop by and say hi regardless.
  22. Holy crap! These are awesome, and there are so many! Can you post a few close-ups?
  23. Ah, I had glossed over the visually dynamic part. Mysterio seems like a good guess, as well as Moon Knight. But so does Venom, although he's only barely MCU, technically speaking.
