wave 3 is still original series. I was really hoping to see some TNG some day. oh well I am still waiting to see these guys before I get upset.

while we have already seen pictures of these, it is cool to see them as we will get them, not just as products shots. Seeing these pictures really made me look forward to the next wave and wave 6. In all the pictures of wave 6 some of the pieces looked rather glossy, but I am really happy that they will be made with a flat paint.

Just when we were like wow marvel sucks comapared to DC they make this wave and wow! blows me out of the water. Finally Archangel/Apocolypse two pack!

I was just at the suncoast in Tucson and found green lantern w/ star from wave one, and from wave 2 Booster-Gold w/ Blue-Beetle, and Dr fate w/ Power Girl. they also had the whole line of BSG wave 1 in case you missed this wave check out your local Suncoast!

just called my LCS and... nothing

I'm not seeing anything on Diamond's list this week. So unless these are West Coast dates, it looks like they may have changed things around yet again... I also checked diamond's list and did not see anything. When I called my LCS they said they also did not have anything, but they said to call back today. So if I hear anything I will post it later.

I liked the mez-itz, they were cool in there time. I only got the first alien line and the sdcc exclusives predator set. but have alway wanted the predator and second alien set. They look really cool fighting the minimates.

I would get it. I mean while it may not be the top of many people's lists it is from the first wave. also that is a cool set, you might not think so, but it grows on you.

I really thought we would see some marvel wave(s) this week in honor of comic con. that is odd

I was thinking of taking booster gold's head piece and making the third superman from "return of superman" also know as the Eradicator

my LCS sold out of the first release then reordered. Which is what they have done for the past 3 waves. This wave however is still sitting there. Where as with the past waves they have all sold out and been re-ordered 2 or 3 times. may be they will be gone after the weekend.

the supergirl looks like the one from the superman/batman story arc. where she was used as a pawn in darksides (that is not how you spell his name I know) plan to destroy superman. good story if you have not read I would recommend it. Thank you this thread was very helpful. I have the DC encyclopedia but this helps to break it down better.

These guy look sweet! Clay face and Grod look awesome, out of the minimate box but like the cylons I think they will work. I hope batman's crotch will be the same color as his cowl, hands, and boats, other wise I will be sad. I got to say I was a little disapointed with some of the characters of wave 5 and 6, but wave 7 totally makes up for it! these figures can not come out soon enough.

Did any one else notice this box set was all re-used parts? it is true, but un-like the past re-used waves these guys look cool. I dig most of the characters in the book set. Torment spiderman is the best. But mele spiderman is not as bad as some have thought. I think the paint apps are keen and it is a cool look. As for sandman I think what AA/DST was trying to do was trying to make him look like he was not in his solid shape and fading into sand particles? I do agree this is a step back for marvel minimates. DC is head and shoulders above them. but also what we should remember is that DC has a real advantage. They are able to learn from the mistakes of marvel and cash in on minimates already established popularity. For example DCD was able to put in secondary characters (such as Harley Quinn and OMAC) in the first wave because minimates already had such a huge fan base. I think that if minimates had started with DC I doubt we would see the oririnal red tornado in the 5th wave.

my guess is that they would want to have new stuff at comic con. that way they will be new and exciting and hopefully get some new people interested. I remember when minimates first came out was at the con. that was the high light of my comic con. I also hope they come out next week for a verity of reasons: 1) more minimates are never a bad thing (except on your wallet). 2) since I can not go to the con this year I like to have a "mini con." OKreally I just go to my LCS and hang out. so this year I will have something to brighten up my spirits and I can pretend like I am at the really con.

see, I look at it this way; if AA and DST did not make the movie mates and only made those from the comics they would have to make variants of key characters to put with those lesser known characters. the problem arises when those variants blow (riot spiderman) then we get all upset with AA and DST for making really crappy versions of figures that we already have. but with the movie mates we get figures that we might never have gotten (Blackheart and well really everyone from Ghostrider) we also get cool versions of our favorite character! and best of all movie tie-ins are more likely to be put out in the main stream and capture minimates more attention.

That sounds like a great idea and I would love to take part in it but alas I will not be able to comic con this year.

will we also see some waves of minimates coming out in time for the con? avengers? ghost rider? spiderman 3?

Will this set be available in any other away then through AFX, like previews because if not how are they planning on selling them to a larger group. I mean everyone on the forum will buy some but then what?

very sadly, I just took minimates central off my rss feed and changed it from being my home page . It was very hard. You will be greatly missed Danny. I doubt that there is any one who has not used your site at one time or another. I myself looked forward to your reviews with much excitement.

After seeing the movie I got more excited for them. I don't think I will be being getting the whole set, but some.

that was my plan. but it may come after I figure out what's up with cyborg superman's head. you know that half face he has. I am so putting that on different heads to see what it will look like. I am most looking forward to it on ghostrider's head. I'm not sure, it might be like the Peter/Spiderman hair piece.(Who knows) That is what I thought but if you look at it seems that the skin is attached to the hair piece and hangs over the on to cover the face.

I hope it is not a mistake. While I am looking forward to this wave (even more now that I have playing marvel legends). But this way it will not be so devastating on the wallet.

at the top of the tread it says this box set comes out Thursday. which wave are you talking about?
