As a fan of water based characters (or "Hydrokinetics" - love those words), I'm really glad Hydroman was in this set. Granted I'd have liked it if he was in the costume The Wizard made for him, but beggers can't be choosers. I missed out on the wave 10 Sandman, so I was pleased to get this one. I do feel he would have been better if he was the peach/pink colour he was in previews or the sand colour from the SM3 waves, but other than that I like this mate. We get half human/half sand versions of him and sandblasts, both of which are great touches IMO.

Nice to see I'm not alone I've yet to try most of these (partly because I haven't had the heart to open some of my recent purchases), but I love the idea behind them and can't wait to see some more in the future. Might have to experiment some time when I get a spare five.

Scarlet Spider - Though he could have done with a bit more work on him (i.e. not painting on the web shooters or the pouches on his legs and maybe doing something more with the jumper), Scarlet is still my favourite costume EVER, so having him in mate form is always going to make me smile.

I feel the following reflect my opinion perfectly: Very true. Thanks to TRU I've been able to get Union Jack, Moonstone, Bullseye, Swordsman (hopefully) and loads of variants to the GB plus ghosts. Plus they've listened to crit and will fix it for the next TRU wave. That's awesome However, as great as it is to have them available it's still a problem for me to get the ones I want, especally... Fine, their exclusive and rare. I get and respect that, but it's one thing to make me pay maybe double what I'd pay Luke (which I'm fine with) and another to pay triple or even quadruple! I'm trying to cut back on spending so I can save up some money to possibly move next year, but from past experiences I find if I want something, I need to grab it when I see it, not when I want to buy it (missed out on a Vincent Valentine figure because I didn't buy it when I saw it). My point is past experiences have taught me to buy something I want first chance I get and I've fallen victim to scrupers because of it. Do UK TRU even stock minimates? I can't say I've looked but from what I've heard it's pointless as I probably wouldn't find anything.

At the risk of beating a dead horse with a stick, I second this COMPLETLY. Add in the fact I'm a UK based fan and you can rule out traveling to my nearest TRU or the site. Instead I have to use eBay, and fell victim to a scalper to get my hands on Moonstone/Bullseye, PLUS having to spend about $10 on shipping. I will admit I've not really used the forum as I've not really been a frequent member until recently, but back when I was looking for Union Jack and Moonstone/Bullseye I wasn't really using this forum for anything bar updates on new waves and boxsets. I understand and respect I can't expect to get EVERY mate that catches my eye, but I'd like to think I can have just as much of a fighting chance to get one at a DECENT price as US based collectors. Anyway back on topic, I've yet to place a pre-order for this set on Luke's site, but I am keen to get it. I'm wondering what accessories it'll come with, bar Adam's staff.

Something very simular happened a few years ago. I knocked my Raft Sentry Variant off my shelf, he fell down, hit an ornimental katana (I think) set I had and his left leg snapped off. No matter where I looked, I couldn't see it. Nine or so months later I'm re-arranging my books and I come across the leg. By then I had bought a replacement and I didn't really have the tools to fix it, though I've kept it all for spare parts. Tomorrow I'm planning to search through he book shelf to see what I find. If nothing else, it needs re-arranging . Thanks for the tip

Thanks. I'm planning to search high and low this weekend. I've toyed with doing this when they first started jumping on my book shelf, but I know they'd scratch up the carpet outside my door and generally throw a hissy fit until they get what they want.

(I couldn't see a simular topic but apologise if I have duplicated one) I stand my minimates a top my book shelf in my room, and it's right next to the chest of draws my TV and Wii sit on. Occasionally I'd come home from work and find my mates scattered - turns out my cats LOVE jumping up there to get behind my TV. Last week I came home after work to find my mates had gone EVERYWHERE - all over my book shelf and floor. I picked them up and put them back but didn't bother to stand them up. Yesterday I was looking over the pile and noticed my Lex mate was missing his right gauntlet/glove. To my horror I searched my room as best as possible before work but to no luck. I had another look after work but still couldn't find anything. To compromise for the time being, I've replaced his hands with the hands from a spare Demitri minimate (only time I've ever loved having dupes) and will proceed to hunt the hand down in the coming week. Till then, I have a one of a kind Lex mate. I was wondering if others have had the same problem as me and if so what they did about it - have you replaced the missing part(s) with a spare part from a dupe, put the minimate away etc.

YES! That would be perfect! Though how would Rocket work as a minimate... He's easily my favourite in the book but I'm not sure if a 2inch mate would look right. Speaking of a boxset, maybe they could make Cosmo in a simular fashion to Terror Dog. To be honest, I'd be happy with Quasar, either with his classic costume or the one he wore in Annihilation. Hell, make the Annihilation one a variant! Two birds with one stone!

Having spent this weekend re-reading Guardians of the Galaxy, I couldn't agree more. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd love to see an updated Adam and Drax at some point. Wouldn't mind seeing Quasar as well. I wasn't planning on getting this set but after this weekend my interest has been peaked. I'm hoping Adam will come with some kind of magic/energy blast to go over his hands (like Wanda had), and it would be great if Drax had his knives though I realise it's more an addition to the newer incarnation.

Any chance of a tournament based back drop so I can re-create Street Fighter/Marvel vs Capcom style fights?

While I am happy to see Swordsman getting added, and do like the look of the new Silver Surfer mate. However, I know this set will be a REAL pain to get. I ended up spending about $40 to get Moonstone and Bullseye (can't remember how much shipping and handling was). Salt was added to the wound when I searched on ebay.co.uk about two weeks later and saw a set for about half the price I paid! So I'm toyed with spending a small fortune to ensure I get this from day one, or holding back and seeing if I could find it cheaper but run the risk of never getting it. I can understand why they want to make that set rarer than the others in the wave, but in my opinion it makes it a real pain for the collectors, especally for one who isn't interested in the Wolverine/Hawkeye set!

SECOND! Why not release either an update on one of the variants instead of the classic costume all the time? To be honest, every time I see a minimate of the classic costume whether it's normal, battle damaged, unmasked or unmasked and battle damaged I can't help but get put off it. Plus I've loved the Scarlet costume ever since I was 12/13 (the Clone saga was the first comic arc I EVER read). I can't say I was to impressed with the Scarlet we got a few years back, so why not release an update on that one. I'd love it if he had a removeable mask but I think I'm the only person in the world who likes Spidey minimates with a removeable mask. Hell, I'd take battle damaged if that's what it takes! As for the rest of the box set, I'm liking the updated Doc Ock and Black Cat, and they've done a great job on Vulture. However the Spidey mate has left suhc a bitter taste in my mouth I may pass on it :/.

Loving the new Thor (even if it doesn't mean we'll get the "Replacement Thor" idea I suggested earlier). Can't say I care much for the Menace/Anti-Venom (though I may get Anti-Venom if he's available seperatly) but I definitly like what they're doing with the Sentinel Army Builder. Think this'll be the first wave where I get mutliple versions of the Army Builder!

I really hope the bro/sis pack is New Thor (love that costume) and Female Loki. I hadn't considered it until aaron's comment on MMHQ. Actually scratch that. I'd rather see them make New Thor with "Generic Asguardian Soldier", and make Replacement Thor Hercules as a variant.

Tell me about it. If the 30% drop is due to the stock not shifting, it annoys me even more that Play keeps pushing it back. Surely if there's surplus stock they could send some to Play to satisfy the orders! I understand why they'd want to make this set exclusive, but I agree with those who say making them harder to come by reduces the number of sales.

Though it's extreamly unlikely, I'm a HUGE fan of the site That Guy With The Glasses.com, and would personally love to see minimates based on them. The site has spawned some interesting matchups and rivalries, such as The Nostalgia Critic vs The Angry Video Game Nerd, and my personal favourite, Linkara vs Dr Insano. (apologies if this is in the wrong place) After watching a YouTube video called "Familiar Faces" about Janine Melnitz, I'd love to see a Minimate of her. Though to be honest I'd prefer it if they modeled it after the cartoon series (maybe even with her in the uniform) rather than the movies, especally the second one. For those who are interested:

They had the variant? I got the main three off them a few weeks back. I didn't realise they were going to have the variant (not that I'm AS keen on this wave, but I definitly want to get Ultimate Spider-Woman). Did it come on it's own or with the other boxes in the wave? Was that .co.uk or .com? Either way, that's great! I spent about double that to import from the US (annoying), but I will keep an eye on there. I didn't think they stocked more recent waves.

Amazon.co.uk has some Wave 12 minimates on there last time I checked. I second MiniFiend UK's reccomendation for Limited Edition. I've gotten a couple of waves and box sets from them. Forbidden Planet is hit and miss. I ordered some wave 19 and 20 mates off there last year and they didn't arrive for a good three/four/five months. I clean forgot about them by the time they arrived. However but they do list most boxsets and chase figures (though they didn't have waves 23 or 24 up) so it's 50/50. You can request to be notified by email when the order is dispatched, which is worth doing.

I pretty much second everything you said there. While I am a bigger Marvel fan, I'm still dissapointed they finished the DC minimates without adding in more GLs. Appologies if this is going off topic, but have you heard of the "Kyle as a Blue Lantern" idea that's been floating around on the internet? I'm a supporter of the idea as I think the Blue Ring would suit him. No. That is a great idea! They could start a whole other book on that! (or at least a new series). Is the rumor based on anything or is it just something fans want to see? I hope the guy that makes custom mini aps makes some blue and red lantern aps. Both really. Some fans felt Kyle leant towards Hope when he was possessed, and his friendship with Ganthet could lead to him changing to the Blue Lanterns. Personally I'd like to see him switch as I think he needs to move away from the GLs to establish his own identity. As great as it is having Hal back, I did like it when Kyle was the sole GL.

I can't wait for Blackest Night and would have loved to see more Lantern based minimates. Kyle (preferbly in his first post Ion costume/the one he wore in Rebirth), SC Sinestro, any of the Blue, Red, Orange, Violet and Indigo LanternsI mean we never got a Kyle mate, and he's my favourite GL (though Hal is a close second). Plus there is also ! Such a shame really

I'd be interested in getting them. More SF minimates for my collection. Although I don't know anyone I could buy multiple packs to pass on to... :/
