I'll be happy either way.. There are a few in these waves that I have really been looking forward too.

Is there a posibility we get a hover conversion done on this for a 3rd version release? Also, have we confirmed that the wheels roll? Marty looks epic! Squaty car.. but I will take 2.. pass on the robot.. and I'm sure I'll get one of each color on the jet. Onward minis.. onward. Vox

Happy New Year Everyone! Are these waves hitting this week? (31 & 32)

The latest Classic one (without rivets) is my favorite for classic looks.. but I gotta say I absolutely loved the Iron Man movie versions.. Red/Gold, Silver, and TRU Stealth.. That is one of the most brilliant minimates ever created imho. I had the red and yellow movie version displayed on the firey take-off platform on my desk at work for around 6 months.. I work in an accounting office where stuff like that just isn't displayed and I took some ribbing for it.. but I did not care. I look forward to the next movie versions..

Hammer Drones will be a cool army builder.. as I was reading up on the Iron Man 2 movie version of Whiplash I read that they are combining the elements of the characters: Blacklash/Whiplash & Crimson Dynamo. With that in mind.. there was a time that ol' CD had an army of Dynamos that he sent at Tony.. I wondered if we would get to see a movie equivilent of that.. and it looks like we will. I got to hand it to the Iron Man movie team.. even when combining characters to get what they want for the story, they still do a lot of homework on the subject matter. Bring on more Iron Minis!!! (Can we start a petition to get Hulk Buster Iron Man?.. like said earlier in this thread... Iron Monger gets us half way there) Vox

For those of you that call stores to check what is in stock at Toys R Us... :biggrin: Is it better to give them the SKU or the UPC? Also, is the item number something they just use online.. and does it apply to the whole wave or the whole line? Thanks... and Happy Christmas.

I thought Zhu Zhu was the daughter of George Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life... "Zhu Zhu's petals!" Jumped on TRU.com and ordered swordsman and black bolt.. I've never placed an order that fast in my life. I figure I'll get scorpian eventually so I left it at that. I hope this is a sign of things to come with TRU.COM!!! woot!

I have been out of town a lot the past month and a half.. and out of the loop. I swung passed the Sugarhouse TRU and they had one Iron Man two pack left.. no surfer or any of the others.. I hate this time of year for finding collectibles.. TRU has been a mad house every time I have stopped in.. the poor service for collecters becomes non-existant behind mom's and grandma's that are having tug-a-war fights over whatever the latest cabage-patch equivilent is.. I am hoping Layton just hasn't put the box out yet.. all they had was a Union Jack/Wonderman. Any advice in the Salt Lake City area Ivan?

Hey Ivan, have you seen anything on these in SLC yet?

Pig in a blanket.. still makes me think of a cold police officer.. but I digress I am excited about a lot of these.. I can not wait to see these hit the shelves.. unfortunately a TRU location 45 minutes north of me (Layton, UT) has had such little action it looks like they have stopped getting new stuff in. I can only buy so many. Sugarhouse TRU is the closest to my job and easiest to hit so maybe I'll run into Ivan again and the party will happen. Vox

I'm always up for another villian. I'm one of the rare collectors of Marvel Minis that feel pretty good about where we are right now. Everything from here on out is just icing on the cake.

Who's Kang?

a bit much overall or a bit much all at once? I'm always for more, more, more overall. I would like to see a new big-style Juggernaut announced. One of the first minis I ever bought was ol' Jugs in a 4-pack at TRU.. that pack brought me into this collecting gig.. with so many figs getting the updated detail overhaul.. I am crossing my fingers that Juggsy gets his. Heck, you could call him J2 and stick him with Excalibur.

Lucky lunch break for me! I scored one of each today.. funny to think just 2 hours ago I thought this was a huge long shot. Angel is sweet.. I really like these wings.. it makes me want to replace my hawkman/girl wings and the old metalic angel wings. Great display figures! One question, I didn't know much about the gaurd guy and then I read that the armor is based on Stark Tech.. so would it be too far of a stretch to put this with my hall of armor display? War Machine and Iron Spidey are there already. edited to add: Found at Sugerhouse TRU in Salt Lake City. They still had a full assortment when I left.

I zone out for a couple weeks thinking nothing was going on in the mini scene and... these hit TRU. Well, I'll go check the usual spots but I would guess I am WAY too late to find the short packs. Oh well.. I guess I am happy to have my Champions Angel that came to my LCS this week.

I can honestly say it hurts my head to look at this. The head is misplaced... it looks more like two drawings spliced together.. seriously.. cut it in half and the back half looks like it could work.. or remove the head and slice the front off and it could look ok. Are you sure this isn't fan art? I had to add to the duplications of the picture.. because.. well.... I'm bored.. and staring at this was like looking at one of those magic pictures.

I wants it.. I gets it! woot! I will be army building these bad boys.. unfortunately, with my minimate budget.. an army consists of 4 or 5.. I like the new Thor.. that's the costume from his reboot right (or latest restart or whatever)? I don't know a thing about Anti-Venom other than art from his debut and I thought it was an obvious idea and play on the Venom character popularity.. but this mate looks way too bulky. I am with those hoping he has the costume continued under his chest piece. The rest, I'm not too jazzed about but will get them all. With Cap Brittain and others I would like to see a J2 or Juggernaut redo with the current level of detail being done I think he would look great. I love the new level of detail being done.. it makes me lean toward two different displays, "classic marvel minis" and "modern detail marvel minis".. so I am happy to see any redo's they feel like revisiting. All in all, any new MINIS is good news to me. Vox

I have a vague memory of a minimate dream where I looked down and saw my own torso was boxy and my hands were strange little spheres with slits in them. The only emotion I remember feeling was fear that I would try and hold something too big and stretch out my hands forever. I think minimate dreams are healthy.

and the home to Jay & Jack of LOST podcast fame. Great story btw, I could see the whoe thing play out in my head using a Salt Lake City location.. I have never seen anything that organized.. I ran into Ivan once getting ghostbuster mates and it was very civil. :biggrin: I must confess something.. I was at a TRU about a 40 minute drive north of where I live last week.. it has been my fall back store when all others are sold out on these recent mini waves.. I was holding two new sets in hand when a young boy saw them in my hands and called to his brother, "LOOK!! cool new lego guys!!".. I responded in a nice voice.. "oh, these are way different from legos".. they immediately lost interest and continued to go through their hulk action figures in a frenzy.. I know it is good to spread the message and increase interest in the line.. but at that moment all I could think of is more competition in scoring the next wave of hard to get figures from TRU. Sorry gang, I feel like I let down the Mini-Code. Vox

This has been a great thread. Congrats on the Silver & Gold (I think U2 wrote a great song about those two minis) "a prize fighter in a corner is told... hit where it hurts.. Silver & Gold.." I have to comment on the side discussions in this thread.. you guys are hilarious. This is a dangerous place to visit while at work and trying to keep a low profile.

It was kind of funny, my LCS guy talked like just his store got screwed as a short amount of 28 showed up and no 27 at all. I assured him that weird stuff has been happening all over. With Deadpool & Gambit in hand I can wait for the Ulti-MATES and duplicate DP & G no problem.

If I'm not mistaken Island of Adventure is currently being turned into The World of Harry Potter anyway. I was there about 3 months ago and the Harry Potter construction is on the other side of the park. It is being built in between Jurassic Park and the Dueling Dragons. Converting the Hulk coaster, Dooms big shot and other rides would be an easy change to whatever they are thinking.. but the Spiderman 4D interactive ride would have to be completely destroyed and dismantled. Very very sad... as that is probably the greatest ride I have ever experienced.

Somewhat surprising move... I guess these really are desperate times for some big companies.. How will it be different than the Warner Bros + DC deal? I wonder how this will effect Marvel Island at Universal Studios Orlando.. One of Disney Worlds most interesting competitors in the area... I hope things like that remain outside of the new deal.
